I was not pleased with the size of the unit. iIt was advertised as being larger but the actual space to be used is smaller. The explanation was given that the price reflected that. Had I known that I would have not rented. The manager is very professional and nice to deal with that was the reason I chose to rent after renting a trailer. When I arrived and found that the unit was misrepresented and not all the 6x8x6.5 area was useable, it was too late for me to switch. I requested a price accommodation from customer service and the store and was denied. I am not satisfied and I would like to discuss this matter with a resolution.BRIDGIT D. | Overall Experience

They did not have a set of handtrucks which we needed desparately. Also, I realize that people often do not return their trucks in a timely manner making the next renter suffer. This location was the 3rd location we had to go to that morning just to get the truck. The truck was only 1/2 full of gas.SABRINA P.
I had a 1pm pickup scheduled. I arrived at 1:10pm and had to wait while someone was away at lunch. The sign on the door stated they were away at lunch and to call a number if they were needed. I called the number only to find out, the number was for an employee who was not at work that day. She however was kind enough to track down Stephanie Perdue to notified her I was waiting. The employee let me know she was on the way. Stephanie Perdue showed 40 minutes later, taking her merry time, on a personal call gossiping with a friend with the phone on speaker phone. Never once did she apologize or tried to pickup her pace to check me in since I waited 40 minutes. I told her I was running late. She never said a word back to me. I said please hurry I must be there by 2pm, Needless to say I was late getting to my destination because of the unprofessionalism of this location. When I returned the van. Guess what!!! Stephanie was on another call gossiping with her friend!! She did not ask about how was my rental or anything. She kept her buddy on speaker phone while she reviewed the van while I stood there. She gave me the total charge of the rental and continued her conversation with her buddy. Never taking me for my business. I would like to add I rented from that location twice in 4 days. Only because I had to and it was close to the vendor I was working with. My next rental, I don't care how far we have drive will never be there again. No I will refer that location either. Her name tag said Owner. If that is the truth, Uhaul you must get better about who you select to be your franchise owners.KENYA W.
The truck had something wrong with the engine/transmission and sounded horrible when driving. The truck bed was also not super clean. The door to the back of the truck would catch at the top and several times was next to impossible to get back down.Ina E.

I preordered supplies. Once there neither to clerk on the computer or me on my phone could see the items and their quantities. The truck wasn't there at the pickup time. The check-in and check-out process took over an hour combined.Adam P.

The drivers side door would not close, the passenger side door would not close all the way because the entire lining around the door and window was falling off. The truck was broken into in our driveway with the master lock intact when we left it. Someone busted the lock open. The majority of our stuff was stolen. It has been reported to the Birmingham Police Department, a report was written, and crime scene investigators are on the case. We will never, every use this location again. We will be telling our friends to never use this location ever again. My husband is an investigative journalist, we suspect that the staff at the uhaul location in East Lake are somehow connected to the robbery. It has been reported to the BPD.SARAH G.

My reservation was at 5pm, I got to the establishment at 4:50 and no one was there, the office was locked yet it said it closed at 7pm. I was on hold with customer service for 30 minutes and wasn't able to reach anyone. The online check in team tried helping me out. At 5:30, an employee showed up and didn't have a reason why there was no one there. It's like they left the establishment and came back, extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.Dariana D.
There is a loud wind whistle at 55 mph while driving with a headwind. The whistle appears to be around the windshield seal on the passenger side. When driving with no wind the whistle would start at 65 mph which was very obnoxious.Raymond J.

The GM is nice and seems to be fair; however, I think the front desk clerks and/or Asst Mgmt staff needs to focus on being more friendly and courteous. Store filed a damage claim against me and lied about it. They reported overhead damage after telling me everything was fine. No one at uhaul will advise me of what to do or how to dispute this claim. All fees and charges need to be listed on the website and made know to the customer BEFORE they reserve truck. Remainder of deposit due back to customer shod not take forever to be put back on customers card. I reserved my truck online. The constant pressuring to sign up for accident coverage as I registered online felt like scare tactic. It greatly lowered my opinion of Uhaul. It was apparent that Uhaul's online registration was using unreasonable tactics to pressure customers to sign up for and spend money on unnecessary coverage.Dale N.

I placed my order through the app and my pick location was changed and equipment I requested was taken off. When I got there I asked for a dolly and the rep told me they didn't have any but they did. I am very I pleased with my order being changed and me not being asked first.Justin G.
The location was fine and customer service was great. The age of the truck had over 95,000 miles on the truck. The steering may need some service because the steering was very loose and you needed to turn the steering wheel a lot to make a normal turn. All four back tires may need air as well. It seemed the truck has seen its better days.Michael M.
I was having trouble with the mobile check-in process, so I went inside to ask for help. The associate (I wish I had gotten her name!) was friendly and knowledgeable. She assisted me with check-in, and explained clearly to check the vehicle mileage and the drop-off process. Her help was indispensable - highly recommend! About the equipment: the van displayed a "change engine oil" message as soon as I started it. It also felt like the tire alignment was off. Those working at this location are always very helpful. This is my "go to" location for renting equipment and installing hitches. I never have a need to question the safety of the equipment of any connections. This is a model U-Haul office for every U-Haul business.Rebecca H.
