Train your outside employees how to hook up equipment. I rented a car dolly along with my uhaul, and as soon as I drove my car on dolly, it lifted straight up off hitch because they didnt hook up correctly. Not only did they not hook up my car dolly correctly, but they were not anywhere to be found to get my equipment, so the lovely lady inside helped me get my uhaul herself. They tried to charge me for gas starting at 7/8 when the actual was 1/2. They charged me for blankets and a dolly which was not delivered. Yes, they ultimately gave me a refund but it was a big hassle and caused delays. I completed everything online, then had to repeat much of in person! WTF. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I have used Uhaul in the past and was completely disappointed this go around. Myself, kids and mom waited in the heat for assistance in a truck you gave us knowing there was an issue prior for 4 hours before being able to start our move. I had to miss a day of work, didn't sleep for 2 days, got locked in my storage facility since I ran late. Missed a movie that I could not cancel in time since my phones were stuck in the car. I still have not been refunded my money either so I'm out of xtra money because of you guys error. And you have the nerve to attempt in blaming me when at the end of it all you admit there was an issue you thought was fixed. And get a key copy to me within 30mins of a friend of mine showing up there for a resolution. Where was that solution 4 hours ago. I have my helpers still waiting for me to pay them double what I offered since they were helping me for 5 extra hours. The vehicle was not safe to drive, play in front end and leaking antifreeze. Return truck and the associat was laid back in his chair hands behind head just talking to 3 guys about bs. I waited about 5 minutes finally put keys on counter and leftNorman L.
The only U Haul I would recommend I the one I used during the first week of May in Silver City New Mexico. The lady who helped me was extremely helpful and the service she gave was pleasant something you don't get from big city stores anymore. Too many employees like to sit around and talk about their weekend plans and sports rather than get their customers taken care of and on the road. I had horrible customer service trying to rent my truck on the 800 number had to make at least 8 calls to make sure I got what I needed. I Was told they didn't have to help me that it was not part of their job. Took me all day to finally get what I needed. Then when I picked up my truck and explained where I needed to drop off my truck I was given the incorrect location then when I tried to call and change it I was refused the opportunity to do so and forced to make arrangements for someone to follow me to drop off the truck so I could get back home. Then when I dropped off the truck had to go inside and wait while listening to the employees chat for 20 minutes about their personal business. Finally someone asked if anyone needed help and when I walked over to see who was asking he was sitting down with his feet propped up and when I said I just needed to drop off my truck he rudely explained I needed to sit in my truck that no one would know I was here. I said no you didn't know I was here because no one came out there m, that's why I came inside. They didn't come out because they were inside chatting about their own weekend plans and other non work related stuff. He then got up and jerked the key out of my hand and took off outside walking away from me so fast he was at least 20 feet In front of me and I had to yell out â€œwhat do I do now?â€ To which he just replied while getting inside the rental I was returning â€œyou will get an email u can leaveâ€. So I did. I don't know what is wrong with this country or people in general anymore but customer service is something of the past and the customer is never heard or seen because nothing ever happens to the employees who give such horrible service! I will never use UHaul again if I can keep from it. I would rather pay friends and family or a church or someone who needs the money and is willing to help before I go thru ANYTHING remotely close to what I just experienced with your company! It was uncalled for and flat out RUDE. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years since I was 16 and this whole experience was DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTING! I would be ashamed if my employees had behaved in the manner that almost every single person I spoke to treated me.Andria D.

The truck was in bad repair when we received it, to the point where my wife feared we were about to be scammed into paying for repairs. Both locks on the doors had been forcefully ripped out, the truck was over mileage, the passenger mirror was unlovable and cracked in half, and the passenger door did not work at all from the time of pick-up. It had very clearly been broken into and either used in a crime or taken for a joyride, then put back into service without even the most cursory repair. Since the recent change in ownership of this location, I have noticed a marked and concerning decline in the quality of equipment. We will most likely move our business to one of the higher rated locations farther away if this unfortunate trend continues.William Z.
I was promised a storage unit by the time I would get to my destination and there was no storage units available. They ended up giving me one that not even a couch would fit. How do you expect to fit a 2 bedroom apartment in a storage unit where not even 1 couch can fit. Plus they didn't bother helping me all they said was too bad, they should have told me that since the beginning so that I could look for something else but instead insisted for me to purchase insurance and a lock. I had to end up paying $250 in another place to get a storage unit. I completely don't recommend this place. U-Haul should have at least tried to help me since it was their mistake for not knowing about what units are available before promising to customers.Micaela C.

Drove a hour to this location since it was the only location that had a 5x9 open trailer available. When I got there I was told the system had a â€œglitchâ€ and they didn't have on but I could take a closed trailer. I had paid people eating on me to help me load it so I have it a try. I drove a hour back some and what o needed to move was too tall for a closed trailer. I drove a hour back and asked for a credit so I could rent a open trailer next weekend and was told no. When I asked for a number to call they gave me the corporate #, laughed and said â€œgood luck with thatâ€. Terribly ran location. Never seen anything like it, unorganized and unprofessional. I've rented over a dozen uhauls but this one was my last. Someone needs to get involved and see what's going on at that location, it's a disaster. 5 hours, $41, plus gas and the guys I paid to help me load down the drainTyler Y.
This store is a cheat. They cheat from Gas by putting the gage in between half tank and full tank without anyway to determine how much you've used. Why don't you leave in full tank so customer can bring Truck back same way. They cheat me so much.ola O.
I arrived at 9:30 to return my rental van, yet when submitting the miles/fuel photo, the App for some reason wouldnt upload it and had to ask an attendant to help. Was really hoping the return on app would be seemless as it would given me peace of mind. The trucks AC cut out 3 times, the transmission had multiple occurrences that it would not go into reverse or shift efficiently. The truck was in pretty rough shape and when we returned the truck with 38 unused miles we were still charged for the full 371.Jason T.

The truck needs to be trashed or seriously repaired. Alignment, control arms, transmission, brakes were horrible. I couldn't finish my move because the truck was totally unsafe to drive on the road. I had to drive in back roads, no highway. 45 miles per was a little safe, 60 was unheard of. I need my $$ back based on my experience of renting your truck. Aaron was very friendly and helpful but the facility was not clean. There were disgusting mattresses left in the halls near the front and while loading my things I had to walk back and forth passing these filthy items. There was a bag of spilled coffee beans in the hall right after I passed the nasty mattresses. Then there were dead bugs in the halls. It seemed like no one cared to clean up because during my hours moving my things, one or two workers came by and saw the mess and no one bothered to clean up. This particular facility had a flood event occur by another tenant and it caused water damage to my entire unit. They threw away my furniture, clothes, important documents and everything else that was ruined without notifying me. They then provided me a claim number to make a claim which was eventually denied due to me not having coverage (after renting for a year). I was definitely upset because over $10K worth of belongings of mine were never replaced. Aaron, the manager, showed sympathy for me and offered me two months free, which was a total of $250. It was no where near the amount of what my personal belongings cost, but I did appreciate it. Needless to say, if you rent a storage be sure to get insurance because if not, you'll definitely be screwed!Christy S. | Overall Experience
