The hand truck and the furniture dolly were great. The steering on the truck however was messed up, it had real problems when turning with the road at highway speeds. Felt dangerous a couple of times. I shared this with the lady at the desk when I returned it. Everything else about the truck was fine.BENJAMINBLYE D.

This comment is not directed at the Lynchburg store but the online reservation system and the uncaring customer service rep at cooperate. I made an online reservation to pick up a truck from a location weeks in advance in Roanoke Va right down the street from our storage unit. When I arrive to pick up the truck I'm told by the gentleman at the store he shows no reservation for me. I showed him my reservation confirmation email from uhaul and he called his cooperate assistance rep who was completely uncaring and said her system showed me picking up a truck in another city 90 mins away as then had the nerve to tell me the online reservation system isn't perfect and I should have called to confirm it. Why would I do that? What's thebb VB point of having online reservations then. So after driving an additional 3 hours round trip to get a truck, I am late after my 7 hour drive to my destination and have to spend an unnecessary night in a hotel. Thanks UHaul. Great service. Oh and clean your trucks occasionally. The window was so grimy and film covered on the inside I had to clean it myself.MICHAELRAY F.

Make sure the running lights are actually working before you rent a trailer to someone, especially if they take the effort to specifically inquire whether or not they're functional. My girlfriend and I could've been seriously injured when moving from Virginia to Colorado if we hadn't noticed that the running lights were not working (serious hazard at night), even thought the Uhaul employee said they were when doing the initial light check.PETEREDWARD H.

The indoor facility is very falsely advertised and if I would have seen the inside before booking I would have taken my business elsewhere. The indoor units are made of cheap material that someone could easily break through with a roof of chicken wire. When I tried to access my unit, my card to get in wasn't working and the manager was annoyed that they had to come in early and help me, but didn't even fix my card just opened the one door and said I better keep that open and left. Lastly, after making the reservation and checking-in in person, they asked me if anyone told me that the elevator was broken. I was never informed about it as I would not have selected the 4th floor unit with a whole house of furniture to move up there. Sadly, I did not have my moving truck long enough to find a new location and move it there so I'm stuck. Thankfully my family was able to help me move in but myself along with all the members of my family that saw the terrible place and experience will ensure to tell people to take their business elsewhere.Sarah A. | First Impressions

Only problem I had was some mices got into my 2 expensive sofa costing me over 1800 dollars go to dump only used for 3 months before putting in storage by moving company. Stated didn't have the insurance to cover it but building was supposed to be be cleaned and secure.Was a customer for almost 5 years. Everything else was ok. I have used uhaul downtown lynchburg quite a few times and ALWAYS they have treated me fairly . I always clean the inside icluding wiping down and treating the leather/plastic with the oroper fluids. I just cant get the outside washed as i run out of time. I asked this time for 2 hours over my time to ckean the inside for ya'll even though i pay for the time it is the right thing to do to clean it properly!SHARONRUTH O.

I tried to drop off my trailer at the U-Haul in Appomattox, VA but the people there were not helpful or friendly, and they would not give me a printed receipt. I said "No receipt? I'll take it elsewhere!" The guy said "Fine!". I took the trailer to the U-Haul depot on RT460 at the airport and they told me to take it to this location, which I did. They were great. Two women took care of everything, and I got my printed receipt. Gracias.JOSPEH T.

The truck I picked up was clean but low on fuel. When I tried to put fuel in to return it I found a huge leak in the tank filler tube that had previously been improperly repaired. The clerk at the drop off location was nice but seemed inexperienced when I tried to explain the problem. Barring the fueling issue I would have given a much higher rating.Ronald D.

My rating above only pertains to the convenient location and vehicle, you will see why as you read on. Your website and Share 24/7 did not work! For starters, I registered an account last week, the site would not accept the password for pickup and had to reset it. The site could not find me, even after scanning the location bar code?? Yes, I had the location services allowed on my i-phone. Ultimately, I had to wait until the store opened and go thru the process with the manager. Fortunately, the store opened within 30 min of when I went to pick up the truck. I had no issues with the vehicle or staff. Your "help line" never answered the phone for over 20 min.?? Also, I was intending to rent a storage unit on this site, the website showed what i needed, when I called to verify i was told the unit was way overbooked and not available!! And, it was on the 4th floor AND, the elevator was out with no fix intended. Glade I called, bad way to run a business.RICHARDARTHUR M.

The staff were so rude. The young gentleman helping me had no idea how to answer my question regarding why my invoice didn't match price on credit card machine. The lady standing beside him told me "If you would read the screen you would see the extra $100 comes off on the next screen" (she was so irritated for some reason about my question) I said I just looked at the total why was it so hard to answer my question? She went on further to tell me if it were her credit card she would read everything so that was my problem. Needless to say, it got ugly from there on my part for sure. I even had to go back in after all that to ask for the moving blankets I had paid for and was not given. I will NEVER rent a UHaul again. The unit I rented was great, but if that is how customers are treated, this company will definitely never see money from me or my family again. The ONLY reason I proceeded with the transaction was I had to have the vehicle.Angela P.
