Was not happy that when truck was booked, pop up said eligible for free month storage space. Called and talked to rep, set up the space, repeatedly asked if absolutely certain this counted since truck pick up/drop off same place and reassured YES. Then when I went to get the truck and check on storage, learned the information provided at the booking was incorrect and I was left scrambling to find a place to store furniture for our new office that was not ready to move into yet. Made for unnecessary stressful day. Better training of staff needed to avoid this from happening to another customer.

Really excellent - some challenges with my phone and getting the location to load on the app. We then used my wife's phone and it worked. Not a big deal but I did have "Locations" on for Safari but it still didn't work. Still - great experience with U-Haul. Very convenient location too.

The check out process was excruciating. Either the software has too many steps or the counter staff doesn't know how to effectively use it. It took 30 minutes to do the paperwork to rent a $10.00 appliance dolly and then another 20 minutes to drop it off and obtain a receipt.

I went after hours to pick up a van. I tried using their online option to get the keys and it took awhile to load and process, even when trying to use two different smart phones. After 15 or so minutes I finally get the code for my lock box to the van, I open it, and the keys were never placed inside for me. When I called U-Haul for help, a worker informed me I couldn't drive a van but there was a box truck and flatbed truck available. Neither that I necessarily wanted but I went with the box truck. He said he would contact the GM but I'm not sure if anything came of that. Truck was otherwise clean and easy to drive and I dropped it off without a problem. Definitely easier to do during store hours when there's a worker to help in person.

The manager, Cathy, was the nicest lady ever. We had an issue with our drop off location and got charged Double price. When I called the man at the return location he would not reason with me. I called the Grand Rapids location and Cathy, the manager said she would work everything out. She called me back 15 minutes later and got the extra money completely refunded. I cannot recommend this location enough! Thank you, Cathy!

Fix the mileage price on the cars and the amount of hours you can use the cars for the price. 58 dollars for 30 miles ? And a few hours Grand Rapids is a big city you got to be reasonable sometimes. Great service though ! I loved my truck

Hire competent workers. Received the wrong dolley and wrong car initially. Wasted an hour of my time having to switch to the correct cars. Front desk person was very unhelpful and gave us little no information while also giving us the wrong car.

Add more employees!! I had to wait 45 minutes in line before I was waited on. My rental reservation was @2pm...I was there. There was only 1 person @the rental desk since the other person was taking care of matters, ie; getting reserved equipment ready, checking in returned equipment, etc. You need for sure "2" people @the rental desk. I rented last month and again this month. Last month wasn't too bad but this month, it was a nightmare! You lack adequate #'s of employees which is affecting your customer service 👎😵😡😤 The employees that were there were doing their best to handle everything. Kudos to them! Shame on management for not having this location adequately staffed! I am not happy! This experience has left me not wanting to use UHaul at all, esp. this location. Due to having to wait in line, it gave me less time to get done what I had to do and return the equipment on time. I paid for a 4 hour rental of a pickup to haul the UBox that I rented. I rented it from 2-6 pm. By the time I got the rental out of there to use it was 3:30ish. The time got extended to 7pm but that gave me only 3.5 hrs instead of the 4 hrs that I rented it for. I got back there @7:03pm. The store was showing still open...door was not locked, it opened...but no one in the store. I used the intercom and the radio to try to make someone aware that I was there...several times! I looked around the store inside & out. I went to the door of the storage rentals & knocked on the door more than once & pushed the intercom there...no response. Now I was getting worried that something bad had happened to the employee. I was considering calling 911. It was about 7:15pm and the closing employee came back in. By this time there was another customer in the store waiting behind me. I told your employee that I had been there since a few mins past 7 to return my rental and had been waiting and tried the radio to reach him. He did have his radio in hand, so he chose not to answer my calls apparently bc he was busy with other things. He had a major attitude and was very rude. He told me that I had to do the return on my phone, bc they are closed. I told him I didn't know how to and he responded, "That's not my problem". Yet when I started to leave he asked the lady behind me what he could help her with and waited on her...eventhough he had just told me they were closed and refused help me. Interesting! I'm chalking this up to a racial discrim situation. They were of the same race. He was very cordial to her. I'm not prejudiced at all, but this definitely reaks of racism. Mgr..pls check out the employee's name and speak with this young man about his unprofessional attitude, rudeness and racial discrimination. That has no place in your business. I'm truly offended! The date was Aug. 13 (Eve) I went outside to try to return the pickup on my smartphone. I tried over and over. I followed the directions but nothing would work. For some reason your website and the GPS/Locator (which was "on"...l checked repeatedly) on my phone would not sync no matter how many times I tried. I was still out their trying when your employee was locking up to leave. I told him I had been trying over and over and it wasn't working. He suggested that I try UHaul's WiFi. I did, to no avail. At this point it was almost 8pm. I've had a very long day and was not a happy camper at all. I hadn't eaten lunch or dinner at this point and was "hangry" as well! This never should have happened. He should have checked my return in then my already frustrating and difficult day could have ended much earlier. So not right!! I had to leave the keys with a note in the return box and come back again the next day to make sure this was resolved. Very seldom are your employees able to answer the phone when it rings bc they are so busy. I tried calling believe me. Even your corporate 800 # never gets answered. The automated system puts you on hold and you never get to speak to anyone. I was on hold more than once anywhere between 15-30 mins w/out anyone ever answering. So between your location and your corporate...unacceptable! However...Rocky is awesome...as well as Abigail! They are very professional, courteous, very hard working. They definitely do not make enough money for the stress they have to deal with, ie; disgruntled customers due to having to wait way too long, etc. Frustration was running high for all of us! They deserve raises for going above and beyond in my opinion. They both deserve accolades. They also deserve to be adequately staffed so that none of the aforementioned issues need to take place...@ least not consistently. This may have been part of the other employee's rude demeanor..idk. Still no excuse. I'm not trying to get him fired but he needs to change his attitude for sure! I've held mgmt positions before and my employees never got away with that...ever! My complaints to the mgr did get resolved (w/ many apologies) and I was awarded restitution. She handled my issue and I was satisfied for the most part, but thought with everything considered, I felt I deserved more. She explained that she doesn't have the authority to do more, so I accepted her offer. She and Rocky are the only reason at all that I may consider renting from you in the future. I have the UBox for a month, so we'll see how well the return process goes. I normally do not like to write negatively about anything. I prefer to speak positively...build up not tear down. This upsets me to be pushed to this point. End of sermon...Lol!

One of my U boxes was filled with rodent feces and it was very disturbing since I have never had any issues with this and the boxes were supposed to be in a secured environment. My family had to unpack our things and worry about rodent feces. I paid extra each month for insurance only to receive my goods in poor condition. I am highly dissatisfied with Uhaul.

This facility and it’s staff were awesome. Sorry to say the facility on 28th st Kentwood was the polar opposite. I found the staff condescending, rude and very unhelpful. I used both facilities multiple times over the 8 weeks with same results at both places despite different people on my visits. Can only think the 28th St facility needs a serious management overhaul.
