Not very useful for shipping because Uhaul seemed unable to understand the concept of shipping important items to family as opposed to making a move. Assured many times they could and would contact receivers, but I kept getting the texts, emails, and phone calls. Way over kill on that. Shipment taking less than 3 weeks but received more than 30 such contacts. Really got to be a pain as I was doing their communications for them. At least it got there seemingly in one piece.William L.
I had a confrontation with one of your employees about a month ago at a Killeen location, she placed a negative remark attached to my account specifically, where I get asked for a contact every single time. Which is fine, but then EVERY EMPLOYEE WANTS TO PHYSICALLY PHONE CALL ANY CONTACT I GIVE, even though you've already spoke with that same contact the week prior week. I even called the 800 number to make a complaint to which some smartass young kid got on the phone and refused to take my complaint. And don't give me that BS about policy, because purposely, I stayed inside afterwards and watched 3/4 different customers go through AND NO OTHER PHONE CALLS ARE MADE. This is not only discrimination but incredibly disrespectful considering the money i have spent with this company over the last 2 months since selling my home. Will I recommend UHaul? Absolutely not, yet, it's not like you have much competition so it doesn't matter. Let this happen to JUST ME one more time and I WILL push this discrimination issue further.Lynwood S.

While this location was great, it was not the location I reserved about a week in advance. I wasn't informed of the change until I had opened the app the day of and noticed the difference. I had to drive an hour out of my way, thus accruing a larger amount of miles, and as such paying a lot more than I had anticipated for the rental.Shane H.
U-Haul lost track of our ubox multiple times. It arrived late and nobody could tell us where it was in the meantime. There appears to be no tracking at all between the truck leaving one distribution site and arriving in another. Once we finally got the ubox (and returned it about an hour later after we had unloaded it) uhaul still called us every day for a week straight asking us to return it. We will go with another shipping company next time for sure.Kelsey L.

Make the shelves in front of desk lower. You can't see the service people. They say " I can help the next person", but you can't see them. It like this at every location. I know thevitems on the shelves are up sell items. But is that more important that customers seeing a smiling face? And covid is over get rid of the plastic windows. The pick up location personnel were very nice and helpful. Our problem was with the online and phone uhaul service. We called uhaul to get our drop off location after picking up the truck and was told one location then when we dropped it off and began the after hours drop off process online, discovered that we were assigned a different location. We'd received a confirmation email with the first location too so we didn't know what to do as there is a penalty fee for dropping off at the incorrect location. When we called to confirm, the hold time was 30-45 minutes. I was on hold 40 minutes and when the service rep answered, we were somehow disconnected. Additionally, it's difficult to determine how much gas to put back in the vehicle as they only keep half a tank in the truck instead of filling it up and the customer can then just fill it back up. So we wound up putting in too much gas. Additionally, we were told that the drop off location was close to our final destination which it was not. We had to cross a ferry and drive another 10 miles to our drop off location. Somehow we went 52 miles instead of the 35 miles we calculated despite not traveling anywhere else. Not sure how that happened.Michael T.

After our unit was burnt , we were called to drive 300 miles to verify our contents, only to be informed that our contents were lost. What survived a fire was lost from negligence on u hauls part. However 4 months later we were called and informed that we had 10 days to come verify contents or they would be discarded. A second 300 mile trip and low and behold they had not found our belongings it was a â€œmiscommunicationâ€ Now fast forward 18 months to receive a bill for the last 2 years of â€œstorage feesâ€ or my belongings will be auctioned. The contents were everything that survived the port aransas hurricane and had to be slowly repurchased over 2 years, but like any GREAT corporate machine, WE WERE COMPENSATED 0000.00 ZERO DOLLARS. ABSOLUTELY AVOID BUSINESS WITH UHAUL. GARBAGEMichael R.

The A/C in this truck did not work, ran for one hour then shut off. Called road side assistance after driving for nine hours, was asked to take truck to Little Rock Arkansas, no time was given on repairs so decided to continue driving to destination the next day. I reserved a unit that was available online before my move and confirmed the reservation that morning after loading. After being delayed because of a blowout and terrible Roadside Assistance, I called ahead to verify if we were still able to move in after hours. Then was told they had no unit for me there anymore! Then I had to frantically search for a last minute unit and wasn't able to find anything close by and could only get a unit downtown that wasn't big enough for all my stuff. Had to purchase the truck for ANOTHER day, then the next morning found out that they had a unit available that would fit my whole load. That lack of communication disrupted every plan we had made over the past month or so. Terrible coordination, but the day workers at the unit were very nice and helpful. The location/staff were great. The problem is that U-haul wouldn't let me drop it off at a convenient location in Corpus Christi? Why did it have to be THIS location, that's far away from where I live, rather than the location that is walking distance from where I live? Both are in Corpus Christi, yet U-haul made me go to the far one, where I had to arrange for somebody else to come get me and inconvenience another person. I called your 800 number, talked about it to the person there, but he said he's not authorized to let me change (why not?), then transferred me to another dept. where you sit on hold for 30 minutes waiting for a person. Why is this so complicated? It should be simple to turn the truck in at the same city, regardless of which location.Alan T.

Despite damages to my vehicle on transport due to poor/no instruction, and the lack of mattress bag(seriously?) I would have possibly returned to UHAUL, but thanks to Samantha Fernandez at Crosstown on S Port Ave, never again. The next 3 years when i move cross country annually, and throughout my military career Ill be going with absolutely anyone who is not UHAUL, and steer anyone I know away as well. The night before move-out I was burglarized, in which the thieves got access to all my keys, including my house keys, leaving me with only one vehicle and one house key. After calling twice and emailing separately and explaining this, as well as offering to provide case # and details, I received what I can only describe as the worst customer service I have ever experienced as this site manager insisted on telling me too bad, so sad, not my problem, pay me, extorting me for additional months rent. I explained that I would allow the lock to be removed or the items to be thrown out, as their value was lower than that months rent, nope, get a locksmith, Uhauls lock is not uhauls responsibility per Ms Fernandez. Fine, just seize the unit. "Thatll be an additional charge", ok then since you wont do what I know your people are capable of, Ill do it myself "Well I cant give you access until you pay us." Oh you mean pay the ransom for my now stolen property? Sure, Ill play your game. I had to purchase bolt cutters ($20) and a propane torch ($30) to remove my lock from the unit valued at less than the cost of these tools and avoid future "rent" payments, as well as additional applied late penalties for this highway robber very helpful guys, so incredibly classy. So now with access to my own property, I sought buyers for the property I now could not afford to keep, and what happens in this time? Someone locks my unit again with a company lock because "we cant allow unsecured items" in an enclosed facility, give me a break. Eventually I removed each of these items, but in the end, I'd rather have left my belongings on the side of the road than to ever deal with crosstown uhaul again, after all, it would have been more economical, less headaches, and I would have saved myself probably 10-12 trips and as many hours negotiating this dumpster fire.Tyler g. | Overall Experience

I have been with this UHAUL for over five years so I can honestly say they are worth using. I remember in the beginning having one or two minor issues such as I lost my key card or my payment didn't go through; and the manager John Medrano always helped me square things right away. I really appreciate all my questions being honestly answered even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear, because the staff remained kind and professional. I just moved out and excited to say all my expensive furniture remained intact and clean, just like the day I left them in storage, five years ago. Thank you UHAUL! I had a reservation for a climate control 10x15 at the SPID location however after packing my entire house in Houston and driving 4 hours I am told at the SPID location that they don't have any available. They referred me to their Port location so after arriving there we are given 2 storage options neither are climate controlled which is specifically what I needed. The 2 options included one that still had a mattress and other miscellaneous stuff from the previous tenant or one with Big holes in the walls and grease and dirt all over the floor. So all of mine and my families possessions are now stored in a 10x15 non climate controlled storage rooms with holes in the wall which can be accessed by the room next door but at that point I don't have an option because they tell me I still have to get the truck back to SPID by 3pm and I was out of time. I appreciate being left stranded with no where to put my stuff because y'all messed up the reservation and the extreme lack of caring from your staff. I spent over $500 renting a truck from Uhaul which I have done several times in the past but this will be the last time I ever use U-Haul for truck or storage and I am going to make sure I tell every family member and friend exactly how my experience went And show them the pictures I took of my storage unit so they know what to expect if they ever have the need for storage or truck rental. When I came back to retrieve all my belongings out of my inside climate controlled unit the floor and most of my belongings were covered in rat poop. Was told by two different managers that there is nothing they can do because I didn't purchase the extra coverage for the unit. I understood in the event of a fire, burglary, flood or something like that my stuff would not be covered. But I didn't think that included basic housekeeping and pest control. Lots of mice and roaches. Staff was always friendly and helpful but my furniture had chew marks. I had rat or mice droppings on all my stuff. My mattresses were torn apart by the mice. Ruined items.rosanne r. | Overall Experience
