Used the â€œconvenientâ€ option of renting through the app and getting my keys via lockbox, except when I went to get my keys, I waited for 15 min outside for a code that never came. Finally, I went inside to see if the person inside can help me which they did, but when I asked why I couldn't get my keys from the lockbox I was told â€œwe keep the keys insideâ€. That completely negates their â€œconvenientâ€ option. I wanted to have as little contact as possible with anyone and that didn't happen. Definitely not convenient. Then, when I went to return the vehicle, the person comes into the truck and says â€œyou're all setâ€, no receipt or anything. It's been 10 hours since the return and still no receipt. No where in my email, no where on the app..., not very happy with the process or service.Savitree R.

I had arranged/reserved a different pickup location near my home. At 7am the day of pickup, I received a voicemail from that location advising they did not have a trailer available and that they would change to the new location, and to call the original office back. I called at around 7:20am, was routed to the national number with an estimated hold time of 20 minutes. 25 minutes and 411 automated Uhaul commercials later, I hung up. I tried again around 8:15am, same experience. It was very frustrating. In the end, I took a chance that the trailer would be available (the impression I had was that I needed to verify the new location) and everything worked out fine. Service was quick, friendly and I was on my way. I've used the location (original) many times over the years and enjoy working with them. I understand things can come up and perhaps I should have assumed all would be fine, but extended hold times when no one ever picked up, when the reservation has changed the day of pickup was not reassuring at all.Timothy O.

I dont understand why, but i had to pay 3 times. I paid online to reserve my trailer, i paid again to pick up the trailer, and then paid to drop it off. I was quoted $50ish for the rental and ended up paying $125. Not happy.Tiasean E.

The truck it self was not great, but it did the job. The staff in colonie was fantastic though. The pick up and drop off was incredibly easy! Absolutely perfect customer service. It was the first time that I used uhaul to move a few things (normally I would try to get a friend to let me use a truck). I will use this location again and again in the future.Diane T.

More help with arriving at costs to replaced used fuel. I went 12 miles. It did not look like the fuel needle moved at all. But I put $5 in. I felt I really didn't have to. You need a system to accurately state how much fuel needs to be replaced. Secondly, you need another step on the driver side of the truck. I have bad knees arthritis and was really in shock there was no assistive device like another step to get from the ground into the drivers seat. A lot of the population is aging and we have stiff joints and can not jump on and out of these trucks. Why can you include a detachment step or another device? I'm luckily I got out of the truck without breaking my ankle.MARYTHERESA B.

The windshield and mirrors were filthy. Since we have had nice weather this week, I expected they would have been cleaned for the sake of safety. Also, I didn't appreciate picking up the vehicle with just 1/4 tank of fuel. I expected to receive a truck with a full tank and for me to return it full. I had a significant problem making the reservation on the website. I made it to rent from a convenient location and it appeared to be all set up. Fortunately I called the next day to confirm and the person said well we can't guarantee the vehicle will be available because it's being used by UPS and they might not have it back when you reserved it for. The website reservation gave no indication of that. So they transferred me to a nearby U-Haul location but it turned out they had actually transferred me to the national reservation line who couldn't tell if the second location had the vehicle I needed. So I finally looked up the phone number of the second location, called them directly, and everything went well from there.David D.

There were a few things I didn't like. When you call your local Uhaul office number, no one ever answers. You have to drive to the place to talk to someone there. The gate remote I was given was broken and no longer opened the gate. To access my unit after the office closed was not an option because I now needed a code. I eventually got a code and was able to access my unit at my convenience. Whenever I was in the store to rent a truck etc. the staff was always nice and friendly. My only other issue was online payment. For some reason my balance did not show up until the day it was due and after. I paid my first payment late because of that. The store manager was nice enough to waive the late fees and help me. Aside from not wanting to pay $130/month for my unit anymore, my stay was nice enough. I had great experience with the guys at that location but customer service lady named Ashley who was nasty on the phone last Monday i would refer to extra customer loyalty program classes or just give another task to do like housekeeping or cleaning instead. But an attitude in conversation to value customer like me just tells me that she will be poorly skilled in cleaning either. The doors were replaced without our knowledge and the work was very messy. All of our storage was covered with thick dust and debris. You should have called us to put a tarp over the stored goods or put a tarp on yourself.peter n. | Overall Experience

The gate access code was never updated to the code of my choice. Instead I was told I could use a different code that didn't have my name associated. When I had trouble with the gate code, I unfortunately called and was transferred to a central operator who said she'd message the local office.
