Set up reservation at a u haul to pick up at a different u haul since they didn’t have the equipment needed, arrived and the other u haul and paid for everything then they switched the equipment to something else had no say in it and was then stuck at the facility called customer support and they said nothing they can do they offered a lower price but then charged me the same anyway

Same thing here, my drop off location was changed even though I got an confirmation email after the pick up was changed. I wasted time and miles driving to Eau Claire where I scheduled drop off only to be told I had to drive to Chippewa :(. Horrible

I read on the website to get the heavier, round locks, so I did. They didn't fit because I was given the older, wooden boxes. Don't tell us to get the heavier locks until all the boxes are the newer metal boxes.

Of the several times I have rented Uhauls, this was by far the worst experience. I was helping an elderly friend move from Chippewa Falls, WI to Eau Claire, WI, about half an hour away. I reserved a 15' truck for a 5:15 PM Friday pickup in Eau Claire using the 800 number, complete with a hold on my credit card, and was assured the truck would be mine until 5:30 PM on Saturday. Drove from packing in Chippewa to Eau Claire to pick up the truck, only to find that the truck I was promised until 5:30 PM Saturday was also promised to another customer Saturday morning, meaning I would have to have it back by 7:00 AM Saturday or be charged a fee. If I had been helping college students instead of an elderly friend, an all nighter might not have been a problem. That was not an option in this case. So, Eau Claire told me Chippewa had the truck I needed and they were transferring my contract over there. They couldn't get ahold of the store in Chippewa, but told me that if I started driving over there immediately they could all but guarantee I'd have the truck. No such luck. The earliest they had was a 5:30 PM Saturday pickup, to be returned at 5:30 PM on Sunday. Fast forward a couple more trips between Eau Claire and Chippewa (which was time not spent packing), and I got the truck I needed. They even "generously" reduced my mileage fee from 99¢/mile to 69¢/mile for my inconvenience. However, the truck did not have the full tank of gas the contract indicated I was responsible for upon return, but was below 7/8 of a tank. That fraction doesn't seem that great, but these trucks have large tanks to reduce stops for refueling during long moves. Since I didn't want to incur a fee for not fueling according to the terms of the contract I signed before seeing the fuel gauge, I paid $20.03 to drive the truck 36 miles (there's no way it only gets 6.27 miles per gallon). Last but not least came the return. Since I returned it after hours I had to check it in online or be charged a $20 convenience fee for having them do it the next day. Well, the process that should have taken 5 minutes, tops, took nearly 40 minutes because I had to wait on hold with the 800 number for half an hour so someone could help troubleshoot why it could not detect my location, even though my location was turned on. Bottom line was that I wasted an obscene amount of time and money due to poor inner communication and customer service on Uhaul's end. Based on my experience, it seems they are currently seriously understaffed by people who should not even be in customer service. Add to that the deception and threats of fees around every corner, and what should have been a simple truck rental (as it has been in the past) ended up being a nightmare.

This was the worst truck rental experience that I have had. I had my reservation changed multiple times. I reserved two 26' trucks for two days. Then I was called and told there weren't two 26" trucks anywhere near me for two days. I understood at that point and agreed to a 26' and a 20'. When we went to pick the trucks up we were then told that they didn't have any 26' trucks so we would need to take a two 20' trucks and be charged for the 26' truck, we also were told we needed to have one of the 20' trucks back by 5 pm. On top of all of this, the customer service at the Chippewa Falls location was horrible. I have never encountered a more hostile and unhelpful person at a store.

When picking up the truck the male working was very rude and had poor customer relations skills! He was suppose to run my credit card which I had provided when reserving the U-Haul and again that morning by phone when I couldn’t pick the truck up in person! My son and daughter-in-law picked the truck up, I had informed the male who answered the telephone that morning that they were going to be picking it up for me! When they arrived to pick the truck up he made them pay for it without running my credit card like he was instructed! Also I had reserved a furniture dolly! The same employee informed my son that there was no dolly! “We don’t even carry furniture dollies” is what he told my son! Why wasn’t I told they didn’t have one when I requested one while reserving the U-haul truck!

I did not know this didn’t come with a ramp, that would have been nice to know and would have gotten a different truck. Also there was someone else’s garbage in the can and mop in back. The pick up was VERY slow. Both reps were with customers when we walked in so nobody “waiting” in front of us and took almost 30 minutes to get truck.

This was by far the best U-Haul experience I've had & I've always had good experiences with many of your locations over the years . I have moved more times than I would've liked in the past 35 years & have utilized U-Haul the majority of these moves . Mark at the Chippewa Falls locations was absolutely amazing. He met me at the truck before I even got out . He was very friendly & kind , but also very professional. He spent a lot of time explaining & answering all my questions regarding the rental return , the storage unit , etc. Best moving experience ever !

The door on my Ubox was damaged so it was difficult to open/close. I was concerned if anything jolted it while on the truck the door would fail. If anything, the Ubox doors could be better built with more solid doors and hardware; however, everything arrived safely and in good condition. Also, I was overcharged for a month of storage and the manager kindly removed the charge from my account so I appreciated the customer service. Overall I was satisfied with Uhaul and have used their services more than once and will continue to do so. My only other comment was that they offer discounted rates (or points or whatever) for repeat customers.

I got there right on time and their was only 1 person working and not very good at his job, he rented out a trailer that had been reserved for the person in front of me in line to another person then he went out and hooked this trailer to there car and the person that was supposed to get it realized he was renting his reserved trailer out . he went and confronted the attendant he ended up renting truck mean while I had to wait for him to deal with this mess I was there for dam near an hour before I got hooked up and on my way all reserved was a tow dolly that should had only taken a few minutes this was my worst experience ever at U haul and raining that day also , the person in charge of the business was in the back shop and was very reluctant to help with any this and when he did he was very condisending towards he employee , a very bad experience

I had no issues with the location. I reserved a truck initially at another location. I had a great deal of issues with the online system is the problem. I reserved a truck online, it was then deleted by the system. I received no notification until I showed up to get the truck. I was then told there was a truck available the next day, which would not work. Thankfully the Prairie View Rd location was able to accommodate me.

I had to drive an extra 30 miles further to pick up my truck. I couldn't get into my unit Saturday when I got there with help to unload and had to unload Sunday morning by myself. I was suppose to have first month free on my storage unit with truck rental and got charged for my unit rental. Overall it was pretty screwed up and not much help at all from uhaul.

I was supposed to be able to pick up my cargo van afterhours however when I arrived to pickup at my scheduled time of 0630 their were no keys in the combo lock box. They store was supposed to open at 7am but the employee that was opening was late and didn't arrive until 0730. When I returned the vehicle at 4pm and did the drop off vehicle on the app the employee working ( different one from the morning) told me I needed to wait for him to inspect the vehicle and there was an additional 20.00 charge for that. I was not impressed.

Truck smelled like weed. Truck was beat up with holes in roof and dents all over. Truck had no gas at all. Poor guy at the counter was pretty much left by himself

I originally made my U-haul reservation through Reit’s Garden Center in Stanley, WI. I called the day before my intended pickup to make sure my truck was there and was informed by “Ike” at Reit’s that he hadn’t had a truck in over 2 weeks. Considering I was to be picking mine up at 9 am the following day, I told him he better get busy and get me a truck. If you had a reservation placed almost a month in advance and it was approaching deadline, don’t you think you’d be following through on your end? You’d think so, but they did NOT!! Ike called me back to say the best he could do was get me a 15’ truck, when in fact, I had reserved a 26’. I was irate at this point and told him that was completely unacceptable. Of course, he placed the blame on U-haul for doing this kind of thing to him all of the time but the responsibility lies on his end. He is responsible for making sure trucks are there for reservations he has taken. He passed me on to dispatch and I called them. After an earful from me, I was informed that a 26’ was in fact available for pickup in Chippewa Falls. I told him that Ike would be there to get. I immediately called Ike and informed him that he better get to U-haul in Chippewa Falls as they had a truck for me. He said he didn’t care if he had to walk there, he’d have that truck ready for me to pickup the next morning. Whew! I can relax. Back to packing. Morning of move, I drive to Reit’s to meet my brother to pick up my U-haul truck. I pull into the parking lot and don’t see my truck; a 26’ truck is kind of hard to miss. I look around the back of the building. Nothing. Ike comes out of the front door and I ask him where my truck is. His response, “they said you were picking it up.” Are you f***ing kidding me!!!! Who said that. I called my rep and they said you’d pick it up so I didn’t. I completely lost it. At this point all my (paid) moving crew has arrived and is awaiting our return with the truck to get moving and now I have to drive 63 miles round trip to pickup the U-haul that was reserved a month in advance and was supposed to be ready for pickup!!!! So after having a massive breakdown and being unable to drive, my uncle drove me to Chippewa Falls to get the truck. This added on an additional 63 miles that I had to pay $0.99 per mile & not to mention the gas in the U-Haul. It was the worst moving experience. I do NOT recommend using Reit’s Garden Center for their U-Haul service. At least I had good customer service at the Chippewa Falls U-Haul center.

Yet another great rent. Very nice equipment. I rented the van for a roughly 600 mile round trip. No problems. One thing that would make it easier is to receive the vehicle with a full gas tank and then we would simply return it full. Fair and simple. But a 5 start experience.

Overall, I have had a positive every time I have visited this facility both for renting equipment and the storage units I rent. The climate controlled storage units are especially welcome as I have things that must be protected from cold and moisture.

The only thing is that I brought the trailer back 2 days early and I thought I wouldn’t get charged the full amount of $190.47. Nothing was said about bringing it back early, just that it was getting rented out again in a half hour. It was very busy at the time and maybe that was missed. Thank you U-haul
