Rental location put down the wrong level of gas on the initial contract without coming out to view the truck, and then modified the fuel level to an accurate amount after my complaint on an amended contract (about a 1/4 tank difference) again without coming out to view the truck. VERY SHADY! The steering was very loose because the vehicle had over 191,000 miles on the odometer and the brakes went nearly to the floorboard (dangerous).GLENN B.

Everything was great especially the people working at this location. Just need to monitor and check truck engines with regular maintenance before getting it rented out. Reserved a pickup truck that was especially needed because good rear vision was needed in order to maneuver a towed vehicle into a difficult parking spot. Pickup truck was not available when I arrived at scheduled time and I was forced to use a van type vehicle for towing which offered me no rear vision at all.david G.

The employees constantly harassed me after I moved my stuff out. I paid $100 to settle and got my stuff out. I informed them that I didn't have a truck to move the box spring and mattress and that they could just throw it away. They claimed I put the lock back on but I didn't. The containers were not available to be picked up at the agreed upon location in California and the driver from Moving Help had to go to a second location to pick them up. The driver himself was great. Additionally, my containers were delivered to me 3 days late in Florida which, to be honest, wasn't even a huge deal but nobody informed me. I had to be the one to call in and ask. It would've been great to be informed proactively. This U Haul facility at 1961 E Covina Blvd has an outstanding customer service staff. The only reason I wasn't satisfied and didn't give this review a 5 star is that they have 1 staff employee & the store manage, that will not go beyond their scope to get you an answer or to satisfy their customers' need. Had to end up contacting the company President to resolve my issue, when it should have been properly handled by the manager. We were under the impression we were going to get a certain type of towing system only to find out that the location didn't have the two wheel towing bar therefore we were charged for the four wheel towing bar. Again, we were told originally that this location had the appropriate Tobar and at the end of the day when we really needed to get this truck to go on our merry way we were told that they don't have that toy bridge. I feel that was a little deceptive. There's a big difference in the amount of towing with a two front wheel as opposed to the total towing ramp which we were forced to rent.Jill W.

Very bad customer service, equipment rented in very poor condition, side mirrors were loose and we're moving all over the place while driving, which is very dangerous. When I drop it off and I told the U-Haul representative about the mirrors, he said â€œ it's fine, they just need to be tightened, which I replied, no it's not fine because I had to drive the truck like that and I couldn't see a thing, since the mirrors were moving all over the place, then he just smirked and walked away. Also the mileage was way to hight, as if the truck is rigged to charge for more miles, they said I drove 145 miles which is not accurate, I used the truck to do some deliveries and to my calculations, I only drove 95 miles. I had issues before but I just kept giving chances, but there was always issues, with both customer service and equipment. I know this is a franchise because I seen the owner there before and it seems like they don't take care of their equipment and they definitely don't believe in good customer service.Leonel C.

I drive to Riverside and back, even doing the commute daily for 10 years. I drive the truck to Riverside and back, should have been less than 80 miles round tripâ€¦ again, I do this daily. However, when I returned the truck, I was informed that I drove 180 miles. There is *no way* I drove 180 miles. I don't know what happened, never had an issue before. Rented a truck last week and did the same exact thing, and it was 88 miles or so because I took a different route due to traffic. Feel like I got screwed out of $100. I know 100% for sure I didn't drive 180 miles, when I got home I looked at my routes taken and added it all up on a spreadsheetâ€¦ definitely got screwed.FRANKLIN W.

First off, this place was expensive, raised my price a couple times and they didn't help anyone during covid when everything was shut down. You still had to pay the full price which was quite difficult at that time. Also, the vast majority of the employees are RUDE. Like they hate working there, but who wouldn't when having to deal with an a-hole manager like Jeremy?! That guy was the worst to deal with! The worst encounter with him was when I was moving out and my movers truck was blocking the driveway. I understand that it's a safety hazard, however all he had to do was ask nicely. Not come over and throw a God awful tantrum about how the fire department is there every other day! Then came over to my drive up storage area and threw another tantrum about how there's a "corporate apartment" in "that" building and he needs to have at least one parking for them. Mind you, his employees had their cars parked in that area but he made us move our cars when we were obviously busy moving out! The best part of that? Well not 10 minutes after we moved a couple cars, another car gets there and parked in front of the "corporate apartment" area and low and behold it's two of his employees. Are you kidding me?! This guy is a real piece of work. Another issue I had a couple times is that where the drive up storage was, there's a chain link gate that's supposed to be open until 7pm. Well it wasn't a couple times which made it quite difficult to get to my space. Anyways, my main issue is the manager and the employees.
