The mobile pick up part is not user friendly and the process takes too long.

Did they get our info from your site? i am now scared what will they get into next? I called the harrisburg site and they seemed to not care since the truck was returned and no damage. obviously they didnt confirm driverslicense to actual name on the contract etc
james B.We had an inline check in for 5 pm. We tried to get to the pick up my truck link multiple times and could not get to it. The online check in process is very difficult. A wonderful employee Channel saw us having trouble as she was leaving for the night and helped us. She was so kind and stayed late to help us after the store was closed. She took a negative experience and turned it into a positive one. If she hadn't been there to help we would have had a lot more frustration with the online check in process.

Oh well. Otherwise, this location both on-the-phone and in-person performed admirably. _________________ Now for the Industrial Road venue: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!! This was our 1st choice for this rental. Made the reservation on-line, got a confirmation email, and venue called the day before to confirm and assure the truck would be awaiting us when we arrived btwn 10:30-11:00AM the next day. Arrived at venue 10:38AM to find the truck, yes, and the office locked. No one to accept payment and give a key. We drove around the complex looking for someone; no one to be found. We telephoned the # on the confirmation doc, and eventually a woman answered. In response to why no one at U-Haul was in the office as promised, she said "I'm short-handed today." Asked when someone would be at this venue, she said "I'll get there as soon as I can." And when is that? "I'm in Dillsburg, going to Hanover, and after that..." That's like a minimum of 2.5 hours. This meant the job for which this U-Haul was hired could not be done; the 4 people who bounced their schedules to participate, had wasted their time; and the whole job that HAD TO BE DONE THIS DAY could not be done. To say we were angry and unhappy then - and to this day - with the management at the Industrial Road U-Haul is understatement. Nor did this venue ever follow-up with an apology. BOTTOM LINE: do NOT patronize U-Haul Industrial Road Harrisburg; they don't give a damn. Give your business to S 29th Street, where they do know something about customer-care.

Lenora L.I dropped the truck off a day early and followed all the steps for returning the truck. 2 days after returning the truck I get a call asking when I was returning the truck. They didn't know or remember or communicate that the truck was sitting in their lot. Once they found it, they told me I was going to be charged a cleaning fee of $25 for the interior to be cleaned. It was not dirty. When picking up the truck I had to clean up glass, dirt and other items that were left from the previous person without UHAUL employees checking for cleanliness. I asked them to send photos of the dirty interior. After a brief discussion the manager decided not to pursue the cleanliness fee. Both the manager and the employee were somewhat short and seemed bothered about the situation. I can't help they can't find a 26 foot truck sitting 30 ft from the front door. Management is seriously lacking all over in this country. I always try to work with everyone but sometime it's just impossible to fix laziness. I wish them the best and I am sure they get customers who are happy. I hope to god I never have to rent a UHAUL or any other moving truck again. ¡Gracias!

It should never have been rented! Initially I thought ok I never drove a truck so this may be normal then when I'm already on the highway to go help a family leave a bad situation I realize I need to leave atleast a 2 car gap in front of me so I don't get in an accident. I had a friend drive the truck to back me out and returned it to the location with me because of this safety issue .

Very long check in time while my family had to wait in the car. This is very frustrating that a large company like Uhaul does not have a better computer system that communicates with its branch offices. When the manager at the Harrisburg office entered my phone number, your system should have pulled up all my past and present reservations! Very poor on Uhaul corp!! If I am able to get emails from Uhaul with my reservation information then so should your branch managers or the location's general data look up by phone number. More than one branch office has told me the Uhaul computer system is not user friendly for them. When calling in to Uhaul to make reservations, there is never a problem. There seems to be a communication break down in your system that really needs addressed.

Eileen B. | Overall ExperienceThe 10x10x6 unit I reserved on-line with my truck was not available when I showed up in PA on 12/2 (order #20731372). An employee (Steve) put me in a 5x10x6 and 5x10x8 as an alternative, and told me he would merge the units so I would pay the same monthly bill I was anticipating. Steve said he would call me to come in on a later day to sign the receipt/contract once they were able to merge the units. I went back in-person on 12/'7 since I had not received a call. I was told by another employee (Shawna) while she was on the phone with corporate storage, she could not merge the units since they were different sizes (one is two feet taller than the other). She said I would have to move my belongings out of one of my units into another, so both the units are the exact same size to receive the merged rate. I am expected (again) to spend my time and energy to make-up for false promises and booking errors made by U-Haul. U-Haul made the mistake allowing me to reserve a non existent unit. I took the two 5x10s because I was told the rates would be merged into the monthly rate I had expected. The employees now tell me I have to spend another day moving my stuff around because of errors on the company's behalf. This is all highly unacceptable, and I am very disappointed with the customer service and my entire moving experience. What is the point of making a reservation if the unit is not held and available? Why would an employee tell me they will honor the 10x10 rate if I moved into two 5x10's? The first employee that helped me yesterday was also very unsympathetic and had zero empathy. Shane, the general manager, stepped in and did what he could to help, but it is a shame that corporate ties the employees' and managers' hands in a "make-good" scenario. Because of the "same size units to merge" restriction, U-Haul has denied me the most basic of customer expectations and given me a horrific experience. I am definitely not satisfied, and am expected (again) to pay more or inconvenience myself because of errors made by your company. My moving from Louisiana to PA started with me having to drive 29 extra miles to pick up my equipment. My pick-up reservation was made for a location 2 miles from my home in LA. U-Haul managed to screw up both my reservations on this contract, and I am expected to spend my time and money to cover your mistakes. Since I will have to spend time moving my belongings, I plan on moving them out of your facility entirely before the free month I received with truck rental is over. You've lost a long-term customer with excellent credit (>800) who always pays their bills. If I ever have to rent equipment again, you can also bet I will be seeking out alternatives. You are a terrible company who takes no responsibility for your own errors, and shifts the burdens onto your clients. Shame on you, U-Haul.
