Too much of the fascia was cut out of the bumper. The cut was not done with the proper tool with many rough edges and crooked lines. Lighting harnesses behind each tail light were not properly stowed and forced the taillights to not sit flush to the body. The hitch itself has many rough edges and clearly was not ground down before powder coating.Fraser H.

Although I put $15 of gas in the truck, and felt it was on the line where it was when I picked up the vehicle, I was charged an additional $23. This was a rip off and I wouldn't recommend U Haul or this location to any friends and family. Never again U Haul.John R.

Very disappointed that we reserved a 26 foot truck 2 months prior to the date we needed it, with a one-way reservation. I have been renting from UHaul since the 90's and I rent to supply and deliver stuff to needy families. Ihave ALWAYS received a special price. Now suddenly they say that head office in Atlanta (I believe) says they cannot give discount. This is pathetic & inconsiderate. For examplethe last time I rented a truck Iended up payingk $643 from MY OWN POCKET to get furniture for 2 different families that had nothing and this was being donated. NO DISCOUNT so it all came from my own pocket, nohelpfrom UHaulany longer...sooooo sad! Even trailers I use to pay $15 regardless of size now no discount. There should certainly be some sort o fdiscount available as it has always been. I even wrote to head office at no avail... so sad that I will not be able to hlep peoplein need as I use to since there is no assistance from UHaul itself ... so sadMARIAFILOMENA V.

Make sure the window is rolled up so the driver's area is not wet and has water sitting in the door closure. Also, makes more sense to deliver a truck with the gas level at full rather than try to fill the tank to 5/8ths. How is someone who has never driven this vehicle expected to know how much gas it uses or how large the gas tank is? There is a reason why every other car rental company I've ever used uses "full-to-full" as their default gas policy!Peter A.

I would recommend having your staff do a little more to show the customer how to use the equipment. We rented a trailer for a weekend, and I was not shown how to use the hitch mechanism or how to properly secure the tailgate. They weren't all that difficult to figure out, but that would have been nice. Then, also at no point was a specific time of day mentioned as to when the trailer needed to be returned, only a date. I received 3 phone calls from 3 different U-Haul phone numbers asking where the trailer was and when it was going to be back while I was driving. Then being told that I was going to be charged for an extra day? Not very impressed with the commutation overall but the equipment performed as needed.Daniel M.

After I returned the vehicle key to the officer at the counter, I was told that I was all set, and the final bill would be emailed to me in a few minutes. However, that final bill did not arrive even after the closing hours. I had to call an agent to enquire about the bill, and only after that it was sent. Please make sure, the bill is sent immediately after the vehicle inspection is completed after return.Amitabha D.

The box for the drop off key was not present. I had to walk around the building a couple times before I found a slot to return the truck key in. The main return box at the front with a big error pointing to it was forcibly removed and no longer there.Steven B.
Make sure your reservation system works. The idea of a reservation crumbles if you book a rezzo only to find out that your name and info isn't in the system when you arrive. Don't double park the cars you give customers the keys to. Give your customers the keys to the correct vehicle.Jake H.

The truck was in a horrible condition. There was a rattling noise coming from the front left side. Fuel cap light kept coming every few minutes. There was no back view mirror or sound and the overall drive was poor. Even the fuel level as indicated on the document did not match the actual fuel level which was lower. I need a truck every few months and have always used U-Haul but next time I think I should look for other truck rental companies. Absolutely horrible experienceSalman C.

Usual busy Saturday morning crowd, but there was plenty of staff onsite. I recommend online reservations to speed up the sign-in process. Trailer appeared to be pretty new and located in a convenient pick-up spot. Worked flawlessly. Upon return, I backed it into a spot and as I got out to unhook, an employee was in the process of finishing that task. Very impressed with service. Makes me wonder why anyone would own and store a trailer of there own when centers like this are available at such a reasonable cost.William H.

The location is great, staff were nice, equipment was good and clean, but I had made a booking the day before pick up and entered all my information in the system, followed by receiving a confirmation email with a reservation number as always. However, when I arrived at the location, there was no reservation under my name and no truck ready for pick up! Luckily, I just needed a cargo van and there were plenty of them available. But somehow, my reservation had disappeared and staff could not locate anything under my name. The young man who helped me was nice and pleasant, but when he was done, he just handed me the paper and told me to go find my van to the left of the door. I had to look for it and match numbers out of 10 different ones. I'd still go back and recommend this location, but sharing this as a constructive note that I hope helps you avoid such glitches in future.Sama W.

One change I would recommend is to present the details of distance in terms of kilometers when dealing with Canadians in Canada. It is what we are familiar with. It's what we use when budgeting for the move. During a major move with so much to think about, it's very challenging to stand at the counter - with a line-up of people waiting behind you - and have to calculate and do mileage conversions. I came up short in my allowable "miles" because of this. It's also important to remember that the town to where I am moving is not necessarily the town where I am dropping off the truck.Doug K.

I booked using the online booking system. The first vehicle it asked me to find was buried behind others and tough to find because they're all parked too close together. For the second vehicle, the photos of the vehicle were obviously not up to date as they were missing some interior damage and garbage left behind by the previous renter and there was noticeably more dirt on the vehicle than in the photos. The photos should be checked by staff and updated if necessary upon each return.Curtis B.

I was not impressed with my first order online. I booked the same trailer which was a 6' x 12' to have it changed to a 5' x 8' the day before pickup. I cancelled as they said they had no trailers 6' x12' available in the area of Burlington, ON. I imediately went back on line to look elsewhere and within 3 minutes went back to U-Haul to book a 6' x 12' at the Mainway Burlington location for the exact same time and date. I am not impressed with whoever worked on my first booking and if it is by computer then you have a glitch in your system that needs repair. On my first booking you get a POOR on all aspects of U-Haul rental.David J.

I would give you guys lower rate but it d be a unfair rating for those guys who worked after hours schedules specially Porea he was above and beyond customers expectations . I d like to mention that the lady I booked with (not the blond one) other lady I think she needs more friendly approach to clients and listen what they ask and needs. My case I asked her storage closer to the loading area and she gave me farthest one and took us 3 hours to unload our stuff half of this time was just walking in front of the empty similar size storages. The staff did not take customer to see the unit so when I find out that the door way was not fit my trike to go through. I have to change the unit. Another thing is that, every time i open the lock, the alarm went on. So loud and annoying. I have to go talk to staff 3 times, problem still not solved. We had some issues getting into the facility once when we arrived at 7am and the door was locked. No one was able to resolve the issue and we had to leave. Also, on the day we moved out, we discovered that epoxy from a previous floor job had leaked into our unit and onto some of our boxes/content. The staff have been amazing. The gentleman working last night was so friendly and genuine. Tracy has been so accommodating throughout the whole process. Moving is a stressful time and this uhaul location has been so helpful. We will continue to use this location/facility and have already recommended it to friends. The only reason I said no to the access hours being convenient is because there is no access code to the storage facility yet.
