This was the back up location that was sent to after calling the 800 number. The original location that I reserved a bigger truck days before the move no one showed up for work so after driving 3.5 hours I had to switch locations and had to get a smaller truck. This facility is extremely inefficient! There are only 6 parking spaces because most of the parking is take by vehicles. The lady at the front desk spent way to much time telling one guy to clear the parking lot. Cars were backed up because there is literally no parking. I initially had a horrific experience with the Copperas Cove, Texas, Manager, Nikki Taylor. She was EXTREMELY unprofessional and did not let me explain my situation and my reservation. While in her office, she called a Killeen, Texas, U-Hual Agent (because she did not have any boxes at the time) where she continued to personally insult me by saying multiple times that I am the "angry customer" of which was not true. At no time did I insult her or her representatives and did not deserve this type of disrespect. She was the only one in the process that made this experience horrific. There was an extreme waiting time for the date amd time I came to pickup a trailer. Multiple other customers also remarked at this while we waited in line. I could not access my belongings after 7 due to the facility closing. Many times, it was an inconvenience for me because of my work hours and hours of availability for movers/loaders. Another problem was when I was moving out, Saturday, March 07. I was inside the store waiting in line around 1:00 pm and there were some customers waiting to purchase boxes. Because they're was a large stack of free boxes in the donation bin next to the double doors, I suggested to two sets of customers to get some free boxes and even offered to show them where they were. One couple, a Hispanic could was grateful for the free boxes and loaded up. Another young lady and her father, who were white, apparently told the floor manger that they felt I wasn't harassing them because I told them and then offered to show them where the boxes were. According to two other black customers who were in the store at the tine, unbeknownst to the manager, they overheard the conversation, the floor manager was chiming in with them and agreeing that I harassed them. When I can back in the store, The floor manager proceeded to tell me of how he felt the young white couple was correct that I was harassing them. This angered me very much and was very hurtful. I feel as someone who was a past customer for one year, who never gave you any problems, that's a serious charge to make against someone so character. Obviously, from the way Thebes young who're couple acted, something was askew in "her" life at the time. How could anyone assume because a stranger offered to show you where you could find the same boxes for free, on the company's property was harassment? I felt the floor manager could have said, "Oh, No. we put them there for a reason." I don't think his customer meant any harm, she was trying to help." His lack of judgment and accusatory manner was almost as racist as the woman who accused me of harassing her suggesting free boxes. He should have told he customers himself that there were free boxes to help save the customers money. That would make them want to come back I the business. Not only was I extremely upset over this, but it was hurtful. To hear other black customers share the same concern that I had over this couples accusation of me, was also a clear case of racism.
