Was told they were out and dollies are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Store manager (Beaver Valley Mall location) said the emplyee who took reservation was supposed to inform me of the dolly policy when truck was rented. It tells you that on- line when you make reservation.. This was an IN PERSON reservation. I had to seriously scramble to locate furniture dollies. HARBEF FREIGHT was very pleased to have me as a customer. Two dollies (identical to UHaul ones for sale at a huge lower price) cost me additional expenses. VERY DISPLEASED I had make accommodations FOR UHAUL’S policy failure.

Due to this and using the drop box I was charged $20. Was then charged for gas and was told two different slots the gas mileage was at. I will never use this location again. I will stick the previous location I always used. Would not recommend this location.

The person operating the store arrived at 9:02am opened it and went through counting the money in draws er. No one got waited on for 20 minutes. Some of us have pick up times of 9 am for what we needed the van for. We were delayed getting you our appointment which then we missed our spot and had to wait another 1/2 hour to pick up Our product. Very bad business on uhauls part! Other than that the van was good

Paul John | Overall ExperienceHave the workers tell the customers that they need to check the equipment back in through the app or else they will be an extra $20 fee. Also, be understanding if you hear that the customer’s vehicle breaks down and that is why you’re returning the U-Haul later than the reserved time. When you’re on the side of the road, your first thought isn’t “let me call U-Haul”, your first thought is “how am I going to get home”.

Well, I get a text message and a letter mailed to me after Nick and I spoke face to face about closing it, stating that I was late on my payment. So, I called not sure who I spoke to and explained the situation and he kindly closed the account for me. As for Nick, please follow through on your end next time so this does not happen to anyone else. Thanks

Thomas Daly | Overall ExperiencePicking up the U-haul i was told where it was and to leave it as close to empty when returning it. The dash said 33 miles til empty when I got in. When returning it I pulled into the spot where it said and to wait for a representative... waited 5 minutes no one came out so I went into the store. Both associates were busy, which is fine. Thru the move and the load and unload I lost the invoice for the rental. The gentleman said if the gas was in the range it was ok. When I got out of the truck it was showing 35 miles left to empty so I did as the 1st gentleman said where I picked it up. I got charged the extra $30 for not having it full enough. Yet in the guidelines the gentleman said. As full as when you recieved. No one went over the truck with me showing me any or all of the features. With me being on a timeline I just left there angry knowing I had to find a gas station to fill up before this move. Frustrating because when you rent a car it comes full and you have to leave it full. Trying to find where to leave it empty and not seeing any gages on the dash telling me where the fuel gage was other then the one that is showing on the dash. The arm meter reader was looking like it was in the right same place.This whole experience was not the best experience for me. I hope I never ever move again and need a rental truck. I appreciate the truck and being able to use it from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg PA. But with my stress and anxiety levels already high using a 20' truck and driving it myself. Was very nerve racking in my brain being a 60 yr old lady moving all alone. Thanks for the use of the truck.
Nancy FoxI reserved a 10x10x10 storage unit. When I arrived to move in I was told I would be getting 2 units smaller units. I wasn’t made aware of this when booking and this wasn’t what I paid for. It made it munch more difficult to move everything into 2 small units rather than the large one I reserved, I also had to purchase 2 locks as opposed to 1. When moving out of my unit last week, we notified the office that I was done with the unit and they said they would close it out. I then got a call a few days later saying they noticed my units were empty and asked if I moved out.

I waited over 30 minutes, I decided to go into the store. Neither attendant was busy with a customer and neither attendant realized I was waiting under the tent for them. They just took the keys and never inspected the vehicle.
Melinda WeaverThe trucked smelled so bad of cigarettes I didn’t even want to be in it. The dash was all dusty. There were wrappers on the floor in between the seats. I understand Covid isn’t as big as it used to be, but this truck definitely was not cleaned and if not for any other reason the vehicles should be cleaned to help the spread of germs. A vehicle that smells that badly of cigarettes should not even be rented out until the smell is gone in my opinion.

The truck assigned to be was sandwiched in by other rental trucks and they had to reassign a truck to me. The moving pads I requested were not in the truck. I was fortunate that there was a person working at the counter inside that could help remedy the situation because it couldn't be resolved by telephone.

JIMMIE BROWNWhile the location is conveniently located, clean and organized, I was disappointed in the customer service. I personally stopped in to reserve my local rental, but it was entered into the system as a one-way rental (even though my destination was a mere 25 miles away). I got no print out to review my reservation, so I wasn't even aware until AFTER I picked up the truck when a representative called to schedule my drop off location. Furthermore, I was told by the person who called as well as the representative at the Monaca location that my reservation would be adjusted and any excess charges would be refunded, but that never happened. It also took three weeks after my rental for me to receive my final receipt via email. I've rented from this location two previous times over the past 2.5 years and my experience was much more positive, but the customer service was really poor this time. I even got "dismissed" by the representative when I returned the truck and tried to explain that the reservation was incorrect. The next time I have a need to rent a truck, I'll likely go further to find a different UHaul location.

He was understanding of our needs and adjusted our rental with compassion and humor. Shaun helped when we needed to change our storage unit because of the size and never once made us feel like we were annoying. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. Thank you for making this experience so easy for us!
Adrienne StraderAfter 3 rentals in 3 weeks, I get charged for after hours fees when my contract says it needs returned by 843am and the dealer doesn't open till 9am. Either I return on time per my contract or return it late having to wait for dealer to open and probably get charged. I guess I should just expect to get charged extra even though I bring both trucks back early with more fuel then I picked up with. I will just take my money elsewhere next time.

Aaron ThompsonJust a little upset about the roof that was repaired falling into my storage unit. Pieces. Also, the insurance on the unit is not worth the hassle I experienced when a few of my items were damaged due to mold. It’s so much of a process and inconvenient. The fees are also high at Uhaul. Our unit was always paid up but I seemed to pay a late fee after 2 days of being late and then before 30 days a lien fee was applied. I’ll def try another storage company before I come back to uhaul. Nick in the office is great! Thanks for all the help Nick!

JOSHUA MCKINNIEStarted to explain situation with my rental truck, guy behind the counter started writing out customer service number for me to call before I even finished the first sentence. “Can’t help you here” “my manager will come and say the same thing you gotta call if you have an issue” “it’s not our truck you rented it from the UHaul Neighborhood dealer in Philadelphia, not here right?” OK cool, way to stand behind what you offer I guess? What’s the point of having staff on location if they’re unable to help with issues and their knee jerk reaction is to pass the buck to a customer service person or my pick up location, which was a literal junkyard in the middle of downtown Philadelphia.
Chris ScanlonThe vehicle rented was disappointing. There were not sufficient tie down hooks in cargo area. The truck is showing its age and we wondered if we would survive the 70 mile drive we made. The cab is filthy. The steering wheel was greasy and left black stains on my hands. I would not rent this again.

BERNARD RAFFERTYThe communication from the service rep was terrible. He never walked the vehicle with me. The tank wasn't full to start with so when it came time to fill it back up I had to guess how much to put back in and ended up putting to much in which is an extra cost to me. Then I asked if they were open on Sunday he said they were and told me the truck needed to be back by 8am and they don't open until 9am. Which meant I had to use after hours drop off which costs an extra $20 and I didn't even want to do that. Plus when I went to adjust the mirror on the truck to drive it the mirror cracked and if I hadn't bought the insurance they were going to charge me an extra $383 to replace it. I managed a delivery service for 15 years and had to replace many truck mirrors in that time. Some bigger than that one and it never, ever cost me close to $400. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
clarence seybertWell I had ordered a Dolly (Utility) $10.00. I never used it and told the salesperson when I returned it. During the ride back to the U-Haul company the dolly came detached from the wall so they wouldn't give me my money back.

One time a cat tree covered in pee was there for more than a week. If it wasn’t for this area the facility would be great. You just need a trash bin outside otherwise people throw gross item there and I’m afraid it will attract bugs to nearby units.

I arrived at unit and tried to call in to our direct location so that I could have a rep meet me at unit to take the initial lock off. On the phone the automation said all reps were busy. When I walked into the store - there were no customers and rep was at the desk. They were helpful- but it was the process of initially getting into the storage unit was not smooth.

I was told by staff to contact RepWest insurance to file a claim. Now Repwest is requesting me to have someone come to my home to inspect / estimate damages. This I'm sure will be a major inconvenience, and on top of that I'm told the original value of the furniture will be depreciated. Beyond frustrated since I paid for ("climate controlled storage"). GEORGE RALISH | First ImpressionsAs a Veteran I have standards. If it wasn’t for needing a unit to store our things until we moved out of state I would have never used this location. The reviews give a very accurate experience. Any time we came to our unit the bathroom was always dirty and had no toilet paper. The floors were never swept. We came in a day before the unit was due for payment to move everything to my mother in law’s because coming here every time and not seeing the place clean was troubling. We notified the staff that we would be out that night (the 9th) so they could start the move out process. The following morning I get an email that has a price for the next month. When I call to verify that we had been checked out of the unit Chris Disney had a massive attitude. Told me to just ignore the part where it said covered until 9/9/22. He then hung up on me. I have never met a more unprofessional staff at a uhaul location. 95% of the time we went in to the office area no one would say hello, look up from their phones or attempt to make eye contact with us. If ever asked I would tell anyone to avoid this location at all costs.

We looked in and it was as big as a closet. The demo there on site there stated a studio or 1bdroom up to 1200sqft. Which is not even possible for how small it is. Uhaul should probably reevaluate the sizes so customers are not upset when they see it is much smaller than stated. Thank goodness for the staff member who help me and my husband fix this issue.

Gerren Broussard | First ImpressionsWe rented 2 storage units. We were not charged rent until the end of the month for the first unit, but had to pay in advance for the second unit. When we started the second unit, the GM (Nick Cumpston) told us that he would take off the lock the same day because we were coming later to bring our possessions. The lock was not removed that day or for almost 2 weeks. We paid extra for the 24 hour access and there were several times that we were not able to enter the facility. We moved out of the first unit relatively easily. We moved out of the second unit on our due date. But because the website states that rent is past due on the due date, we were not able to complete the online move out. The following day we received an email saying that our rent was past due. We replied to that email stating the situation with the website. We received a reply from Nick Cumpston stating that he would take care of the move out process. For almost 2 weeks we were receiving phone calls, texts messages and emails about the delinquency of our bill. Then we received an email stating that there was going to be a lien enstated because of said delinquency. We called the office and had to explain the situation again before the unit was finally closed out. We will NOT use this facility again, nor recommend this to anyone.

Staff was unprofessional when it was brought up that someone had previously called. Was billed for another family members storage unit. My family member was billed for my storage unit. Lastly, it’s disgusting to me that with as big as the organization is and as much as members of the military move, a military discount is not offered. I personally own six different companies with locations across the US and strong ties to the military and I will ensure Uhaul is not utilized for any of our 450 team members, business associates or friends storage needs. Inexcusable operational deficiencies.

Lastly automatic payments were still charged to my card after I completed move out other than those things listed I give my overall experience an 8.
