I arrived at 1p which was when I had my reservation booked for, but this location had only one employee who could check people in etc, the other inside was going out to get vehicles ready etc, and outside were two other employees in the â€œadd a tow hitch areaâ€, after checking in I went outside expecting my vehicle to be ready, it wasn't he was still checking mileage which was reported wrong by 2 miles, and putting air in the tires, when I asked about my 4 hour window starting from the time vehicle was ready he said â€œjust tell them when you drop it offâ€ which didn't sound like it would go over well if he wasn't there later in the day, so I had 35 minutes cut off my 4 hour window which didn't allow for a 2nd trip to my storage with other pieces that I could have had I had he other time for sure, so I dropped it off early and asked about a credit due to the time issue and he just said â€œno we don't do thatâ€ even though it was the same guy who put air in the tires and knew I was concerned about my time window etc. overall van ran well, etc but the slow checkin process wasn't fun, and your time window should start when you take the keys to the vehicle to leave, not when you reserve online and have to wait for customers to ask 20x questions because they don't know what they want to rent.Robert T.

I was sitting at the stater Brothers parking lot eating lunch from Taco Bell when a tow truck driver by the name of Dennis came in and started to hook up the rental truck saying that it had been past due and he didn't realize by the supervisor in cathedral City to tow it away even though my furniture was still in it... She advised me that you all's policy is that a rental truck cannot be in a parking lot more than 2 hours or it's subject to tow is this true.. I had already been online and extended my time frame to 9:00 p.m. but yet I had to stop what I was doing and talk with a person in another store where I did not written it from and she didn't advise him that both my credit cards have been declined which was not true as well... I'm completely disappointed in the way the service was run the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing I tried to use the website all evening and I tried to call all this morning all it would do is just put you on hold it's very disappointingBryan M.

Only after we asked what was taking so long did the agent say there was an internet crash or meltdown. It was odd he never shared that info until after we asked. U-Haul's website is terrible! I tried to reserve a 15 ft. truck on 5/2/21 and it took me 45 minutes to go through the entire process of selecting the truck and trying to pay for it before your website froze at the point of accepting the terms and conditions for the truck and rental contract. There are no telephone numbers listed for you local facilities, so I had to call you toll free corporate number and was on hold for 20 minutes before I could speak to a live person to rent the truck. When I picked up the truck, I mentioned my bad experience to the staff at the rental facility and they stated that U-Haul's corporate office is aware of the problems with the website, but has never fixed them. U-Haul will continue to loose customers to your competitors because your directing all customers to a faulty website and waiting on hold for long periods of time on your corporate phone line just to talk to a customer representative to correct the problem. Customers will get frustrated and call a competing rental company that provides a better customer experience.Mark W.

Was redirected after a prolonged effort to make contact by phone. Moving pads that I hadn't ordered were in the trailer which I didn't find until I got home, too late to return them. The online experience was awful. I tried multiple times to do it online and had to open a bunch of different times, QR location code didn't work, when I got the vehicle it stated there was 1/4 more gas than there was. The worked helped me go online to report it, I took a photo and thought I uploaded it, found later that it didn't process. Super irritating overall.Elizabeth S.

I rented a 20 ft truck to go 1 way to cat city & was told I got a few storage for a month. I was told it wAs 10x8x5. (It's your business & you should know that a 20 ft truck worth of stuff won't fit 1/4 of my belongings in, so what should have taken 4-5 hrs took all day (I'm disabled w a broken neck). I had to move my stuff to a different storage then bring the truck back. I would expect some kind of refund or a free truck for my reservation on the 8th as the 3 things & confirmation # were wrong. The facility itself was fine, and the service I received actually went above and beyond; but I cannot recommend this location. During the 5 or 6 times I visited the office, there was always at least one employee inside (usually more) with no mask. Those who did have masks often would only wear them when customers entered, or would wear them improperly (many customers followed suit). It does not take a rocket scientist to understand how masks work, but many of the employees at this location seem to either not understand or not care. I should mention that there was one female employee (blonde) that seemed to always have her mask on, and she should be duly commended. I was told that I was to receive a 10x15 unit and was given a reservation number. When I arrived at the location, I was told that they couldn't locate my reservation and that there were no more units available in that size. I had just driven 590 miles, had a truck full of items to be stored and I was extremely tired. This was not good news. The young man behind the counter was kind and pleasant but could only offer me a 10x10. I am extremely unhappy! I was given a trailer with retread tires and one came off during the trip, costing me $123 to buy a new one. Then when getting to my end destination, I was charged insurance on the storage unit, but never got one, even though I had one reserved! This meant that I had to book in overnight in Palm desert costing me $ 156 so that I am able to arrange a storage unit elsewhere the following day at a more expensive rate. So no, I am not happy, but this will be heard by everyone I know, and I will post this on my LinkedIn profile where I have in excess of 1,000 top CEO's and Presidents of Companies as connections. Our first contact was with a employee named Jose. He was rude and unhelpful. We asked if we could get the 1 month free storage so we could unload our truck on 6/10 and then go unload the remainder of our belongings and then turn the truck in. It was 104* that day! It was 11am and the truck was not due to turn in until that Friday 6/12. He rudely said No! and would not discuss it. As we were leaving two other employees both named Chris were amazing and helpful. They proceeded to get in contact with Whitney the asst mgr. who was amazing as well. WE were able to get into the storage unit and off load the items and then turned the truck in earlier than expected. What is a shame is the very first contact we had with anyone in Palm Springs was Jose. JERK! Thank you Whitney and both Chris's.
