The person who served me at the counter was rude and condescending. She refused to allow me to rent the truck I already booked unless I had TWO phone numbers, so I had to give her the number of someone I vaguely know in Toronto. When I told her I do not have a mobile phone, she condescendingly told me "you need to have one". NO I DO NOT NEED ONE! I am fine with my landline. Why is U-Haul so obsessed with lining the pockets of the telecoms???

I picked up a truck at 4:40pm for 4 hours and organised a storage unit at the same time. Asked if access 4 hours later was an issue (it had been in the past and I wanted to avoid that again) was told it wasn’t an issue. Arrived back at uhaul at 7:30pm to find I had no access via the man door or the vehicle door, I was only able to access my unit due to another customer being onsite and having the man door open. I had to unload the 10ft truck I rented at the front door and move everything through the man door to access the unit. I did have after hours access last year after a similar issue. If access after 7pm is no longer available please let people renting vehicles later in the day know that they won’t be able to drop off after that time. If the other customers hadn’t have been there I’m not sure what I would have had to do.

The strap on the passenger side is ripped so it is to short to use. Which caused delays as I had to find a second safety strap. Please let the store manager know. Thank You.

I did not receive the trailer I ordered and was given a larger one. This was manageable but definitely not preferred. The attendant asked why I wanted the smaller trailer and I replied with comfort of driving. I was then given paperwork for a larger trailer. I was not impressed with this outcome but I didn't have time to worry and made the trailer/packing work. In the future I will be giving myself more time to select a trailer I need not "what works".

I rented a truck a couple blocks away from where I live. When I showed up at the location they told me my truck was at another location 30 minutes away…. It was a moving day for me and lost an hour just driving the truck to my place and another hour when I had to return the truck because they told me I could not return it closer to my place. I guess it is a good way to scam people since you charge on the km…. Service was horrible and I will not use your service again.

We booked a U-Haul for 9am. We received a call saying that they over booked and we could not pick it up until later in day. Then we had two more calls trying to get us to put it off for a day. It was booked to go out of town and we finally got it 4.5 hrs late. It was very dirty inside

Ensure you actually have the hitch in stock before making your customer sit for an hour while you search and can't find it. And then make the customer drive over an hour from their home outside of the city back in the next day because you eventually found one wasting them a tank of gas.

When you make a deposit for the unit and return the unit without issue and you are due a refund on your debit card you should get that refund immediately not have to wait up to 5 business days for your refund. I have never, ever had to wait for a credit on my debit card and I am in need of this refund to cover my car insurance due today. I am not impressed with this outcome. I await to hear from you in regards to this matter.

When I went out to the truck, there was snow just inside the cargo area, as well as some ice. The back was not swept out from the previous user, and there was tobacco sitting in some water in the handle of the driver's door. While waiting to pick up the truck I was renting, there was only one person processing customers, when there were visibly other staff.

The hitch was put on upside down and they didn’t install the electrical for my trailer lights properly… it should be in the trunk. So they took forever.. put my hitch on upside down, didn’t install the electrical properly, and broke my wiper.. I can’t recommend this location’s service to anyone.

THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!! Everything I paid for online wasn’t available when I got to the facility so I had to pay more because what I needed wasn’t there. I paid for a storage unit, movers and a truck. The movers were Ukrainian boys that got off a bus and couldn’t drive so I had to drive the biggest truck you guys have. The size of unit I paid for online wasn’t available Also. When I went to cancel the unit and move my stuff out, the same thing happened. What I paid for online wasn’t what I got and ended up being a lot more money. Your website is horrible and send you false quotes so when you go to pay it’s much more than anticipated. I will never use U-Haul again and made sure to tell everyone we know not to as well. I had a completely horrible experience both times. Also, the customer service people spoke in their own language in front of me, laughed because they could see I was getting upset and then spoke English while explaining why I’m paying so much with a smirk on her face. It was very upsetting and rude.

I arrived at 9am to pick up my U haul truck however waited an hour to receive it at 10am since there was only one person checking customers in. The most concerning issue I have is when I completed my move with my truck into my storage unit 2299 and 2301, upon leaving, exiting the storage facility my brother was in front of me waiting for the exit overhead door to open and the light to turned from red to green, once green he proceeded to exit and I was behind him in my u haul truck and I noticed as he was exiting the overhead garage door started coming down at a fast speed and dropped down on my brothers black Toyota Tacoma and caught the antenna and damaged it and dented the roof of his vehicle. This kind of malfunction should never happen with a service that requires vehicles to drive in and out daily, this is a very unfortunate event to happen to my brother as I witnessed it and he is also a storage unit owner within your faculty storage #2297. As customers we hope and expect this accident will be dealt with in a profesional manner.

You're pick up location on 52nd ave NEEDS to be audited by an area manager. It was SKETCHY!!!! I tried to inform your customer service, but they didn't seem to care. Had to cancel my reservations multiple times and come to this location on 36th, which was a hassle cause they couldn't find my accoun and neither could I... Overall, was a hassle, but I got it done

First month of rental, arrived at our roll up door and found our combination padlock removed. Even though we were up to date with Rent our pad lock had been cut off, and our personal items left unsecured. I complain to the management who said they would look into it, View the camera surveillance. I also asked for compensation on my expensive lock. I was informed from management that they were able to pull any details from their camera surveillance. I truly believe they cut my lock and then refused to acknowledge their mistake as well as not informing me of the mistake where I could’ve come in and put a padlock on the roll up door to secure my personal items.

The window was covered in ice, but an ice scrapper was not provided. The hood was popped open, but because of the amount of snow on the vehicle, I could not tell until the next day when most of the snow melted. The truck would smell of burning rubber. The outside rear brake light stayed on, regardless of what I tried to do. I later wondered if this was because the hood was not latched. I rented a dolly to move something heavy, but it is not clear in the material that I reviewed that the 10 foot truck does not have a ramp. Nobody advised me of this when I picked up the truck either.

Truck was given to us with passenger airbag turned off even though we told them to note it before we left in case something happened and insurance needed the information. So the service airbag message was on the dash the entire trip. The steering alignment was also off which made driving difficult at times.

the trailer i rented had a lock on the back door, and then the latch broke off the trailer so i was unable to lock the back door on my trip.

Parking trailers 2 inches from one another without room to move forward or back, making it almost impossible to get the trailer out without damage. Trailer was full of snow ( hasn’t snowed in days here ) without it being cleaned off, obstructing lights on trailer.

We live in Canada there was no block heater in the truck therefore we had to waste a day getting the truck to start in minus 50 not a pleasant situation everything was totally frozen, we had to move all our plans a day ahead. As far as clean it was very good.

I had few times when the vehicle's door was rushed to lock before the 7 pm deadline for vehicular access. I had to run to avoid being locked inside the bldg. Not sure why this practice if I have access code and visit my storage after 7 pm. I suggest to be ore clear with the business hrs (office and werehouse)

They typically have a good selection of moving gear that you may need, including rentable dollies, packaging tape, wardrobes, etc. Reservations are standard practice. This was the best U Haul location and U-haul renting experience I’ve had. The manager Dinson Devassy was courteous and really helpful. We had to unload a Ubox and reload it into a U-Haul truck in December. We were able to do it inside the shop. Everything was ready when we arrived. The front desk agent was very helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend this U-Haul location.

My in-store experience was fine, everyone was friendly. I had a hitch installed onto my VW Jetta at the end of April 2023. Fast forward to November of the same year and now comes the problem. I started to hear rattling noises coming from the rear of my vehicle and when I jacked my car up I noticed my exhaust was loose and able to sway several inches side to side. Why did this happen? Well, the hitch that was installed was not adequately aligned with the bolt into the port holes. Each panel has 2 screw holes and Uhaul only decided to place 1 back in that ended up coming extremely loose. The second bolt hole is not aligned at all and a bolt was never installed, resulting in the bracket holding the exhaust up to not be properly secured. If at any point that 1 and only bolt came loose enough to fall out, my exhaust would have come off the back of the vehicle. Problems continue with the fact that in order to install the hitch, they had to damage the under side of the vehicle. The hack job done to fit the hitch in place is disappointing. The heat shield that protects the vehicle from the exhaust has been cut out with what looks like large metal cut sheers. It is all jagged and messed up. Yeah the hitch works, but the install is horrendously done and the carelessness to install the hitch to a safety standard is terrible. Would not recommend.

The exit door was often not functioning and I would have to get out and manually open and close the garage door to get out of the drivethru. And the keypad next to the sliding door would only ever grant me entry not exit and would have to put my code in at the garage door leaving which is very inconvenient.

My billing is on 14 th of each month and I moved out on the 18th 4 days later . I was charged a full month and when I asked a prorated credit it was denied. I did not appreciate. When u call this location. They answer the phone but never come back thought it was rude. Bathroom are not clean and luck supplies. Would appreciate if I could get credit back

I recommend this location to anyone who's planning on renting a storage or even a truck. Everyone was accommodating, especially Princy. She has explained the rules and procedures upon check-in thoroughly. I’m giving 5 stars because of the good customer service that was given by Princy. To send 5 different notices, dated 4 days apart, then held so that they arrive in my mailbox at the same time, stating we had til the 20 of August to pay current months rent, when we did not recieve til the 22 of Aug. You, the manager, are responsible for getting mail out in an expeditious time frame. Not 2 weeks after letters are dated. Thanks for the added stress on me and my wife. We have spoken to a lawyer, have been told we have grounds for small claims. We will not recommend anyone to use u-haul. This is the second time U-Haul has taken it threatened to take our belongings. We had a storage locker in NE. Moved from full locker to smaller locker, had name, address, phone number on file, u-haul decided that sending belongings to auction was better rhsn contacting us. We had about 5000 stolen by u-haul. Never again. You are a wimp, can't even return calls. Your staff is lacking, both in numbers and education.

I do have an issue with the information I was provided, as I was told I could show up the day of my rental booking and load in. But when I stopped by they said it was first come first served, so I presumably would have lost the space or had no where to take it. As they were almost fully booked. And this rental facility said if I didn't book now I wouldn't be ensured to have anything, so I booked on the 22nd of August. Which also means I will have to store the stuff there for another 10+ days, so I am paying a full month for 10 days of rental space. Seems very misleading to me.

There was a problem with reserving a unit online and it not being available at the original site. Another location had to be found adding to the stress and frustration of a difficult move. There was maintenance equipment parked in the most convenient spot for our unloading. Finally I don’t like to be harassed 5 times in an afternoon to provide feedback.

I can see, for security reasons why the hours of access are not available after 10pm, as I noticed someone enter the left open main door, walked in and was going thru the items left behind by renters. He wasn’t a one-off, you could tell he must swing by every night before 10pm as he had a small trailer already with junk in it.. Excellent facility tho, EXTRA SHOUT-OUT TO MARIA at the front desk. She was super friendly, even at the end of a day (I was there often), and she was very thorough and knowledgeable, an asset for sure to U-haul!!

On move in, had to transfer twice because which units were vacant were not properly marked. The staff member assisting me had no idea what she was doing and kept setting off the alarm. Tried to transfer to a larger unit the next day but then couldn't access the unit during the access hours because they said that it was actually after hours. When I finally did get access, there was already a lock on my unit and I couldn't access it.

By the time this was done we only had 15 min to actually get to the storage locker which was super rushed. There was only one available dolly to use, there should be way more! The truck had over 160000km on it and was in poor driving condition. Was given to me with no fuel. Steering was absolutely horid and unstable, alignment was disgusting, I was pretty sure the transmission was going to explode, it was making so much noise and didn't shift gears,(tow mode was off btw).

was given a storage unit that belonged to someone after they gave away my storage unit that i had reserved a week prior. took almost 45 minutes to find a decent size.

i showed up and they had given my unit away so we were given a different unit and then when we got to the unit, there was a lock. so we went back to the office to get a new unit and we couldn’t find any ones of the same size. then after touring the entire complex they were able to give us a unit of a completely different size on a different floor. then when we got that unit, it had garbage in it and then the unit next to us was available in the size we wanted.

Overall utilizing this facility has been excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only recommendation is to have more staff available to assist customers to reduce wait times. Perhaps the installation of mobile kiosks or the use of tablets to help rather than waiting to be seen at the desk. I will definitely recommend and/or use this location in the future. The facility was new so that was good, however because of that there was always construction materials or contractors trucks occupying clients parking spots so made a bit inconvenient when having to move things in or out from the storage unit to the vehicles. On the other hand Staff was always very helpful and service was great.

Facility was nice, clean and convenient. Staff were unorganized and overall useless. The entire process I could have done online. When I arrived with a full moving truck on the day I scheduled to move into my unit, that I had reserved months prior, they said no units that size were available. After 30-40 mins they led me to a brand new wing of units still under construction. One unit was available to move into. The entire area was under construction so moving into the unit was frustrating and not very convenient. Moving out was easier. I phoned to ask questions about notifying the facility of my move out date, reserving parking for a large truck, and rent for the month. I was told they can't help me. No need to notify, they don't take reservations for parking, first come first serve, and they only charge monthly. We moved out March 3rd and was charged for the entire month. The moving truck did not fit into the building so we had to trolly everything from the unit down the entire length of the corridor. I had friends and hired movers to help. The washroom facilities were not cleaned and had no toilet paper or hand towels. When we were done I read on the website that I had to clean and sweep my own unit before check out. The guy at the front desk had to check the unit before I left. So the employees offer no services other than answering the phone. Basically 100% self serve for a premium price. I felt there was no value in the product. I will be contacting customer service to be refunded my March payment. There has been no effort into solving any problems I had presented and every question was answered with "no, we don't do that" or "sorry, store policy". I won't be using Uhaul for my moving or storage needs in the future.

My unit had a mesh ceiling, and as such everything got covered in construction dust. The facilities themselves are clean and well maintained, but my unit should have been covered up if there was going to be that kind of work being done. The staff are all good and seem to know their jobs, I've only had one bad encounter, and it was just because the employee was far more interested in her personal phone than helping me that day, but everyone else is great and have always been very helpful and knowledgeable. I'm all done with uhaul now so I wasn't going to bring any of this up, but you asked, so I answered. Thanks, have a great day.

Although the move in was great I had actually booked a 10x20 unit online. The staff told me that the website does not actually reserve a unit and they don’t even have one that size. Your staff are awesome and the facility great so I took the 10z15 they had available but your website SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Was promised a unit for $140/month with a free month included and was instead charged $300 and was contacted to be charged an additional $300 , after only a two month period. Elevator was broken during move out which caused a large inconvenience by having to move heavy furniture etc down stairs, which we received no compensation for. Overall the unit itself was fine, but was overcharged and unhappy with the move out.

Everything was good, just one thing. unfortunately there was no windshield wiper fluid. I didn't even think to check myself. I did have to stop on the highway on the road because of the snow to clean of the dirt from getting splashed. So I do recommend checking yourself.

There are security upgrades going on at this facility that have reduced the access hours down to match the office hours. This change has not been indicated on the answering service or the google profile, both of which still indicate access until 10pm on Saturday. Imagine my surprise and inconvenience when I showed up at 6:30 with a loaded truck, and am told that access ends at 7:00pm. Luckily I had a second day of rental on the truck and was able to come back Sunday. This is my only complaint with this facility. The staff are all very friendly, very helpful, and readily available to assist.

I had reserved my storage. I received confirmation # and storage unit info confirming my reserved storage and booked time. When I arrived to unload my Uhaul truck the clerk said they do not have the uniit available. It should have been because I booked it. I had a truck full to unload. They said ih we usually call to confirm . No one called. She gave me another higher priced unit. I have one month free. She then said they are closing in 15 minutes. But the site said access to storage unit from 5AM - 10:00 PM Sundays. Very disappointing when you book and reserve a storage unit. Arrive with a full moving truck and then they tell you you din’t have the unit and they close in 15 minutes

Laziest manager ever. Case in point. I'm there last night loading. He comes harassing me to move my car because they're locking the overhead doors. So im trying to corral some empty carts back onto the elevator with your manager standing there and do you think he could have helped guild them in? Maybe at least hold the elevator door open? Not a chance . Well that let me know how much I should care so just left them on the elevator. Apparently decentcy isn't a thing there. Next time I'll just leave them in the hall by the units.

First of all such a long wait on the phone and in line. Second of all they gave me the wrong u it number and I went to go and move out and they changed locks on me because apparently I was in the wrong unit, but they directed me to this one at first.

The place is under construction and is very inconvenient to load/unload, the exit overhead door wasn’t available and I had to back the trailer up the the unload location instead of just driving forward, I had my storage unit on second floor and the elevator was not working, looked like they didn’t care getting it fixed right away and a lot of people including me had to bring all the heavy loads on the stairs, they never brought a technician to fix the elevator and I probably spent 3 more extra hours just because the elevator was not working.

I have closed my rental yesterday because I am moving out of the province. I made sure with the lady who checked me out that I have emptied and took all my stuff in the storage. I told her that the unit was open and unlocked as I have taken my lock and my keys with me. I asked her to check and inspect to make sure that everything are ok BUT she said everything should be ok. I know that was NOT the normal policy as I have rented with UHaul many times but she said no need to checked my rented unit. So to make the story short she have closed my agreement and made sure that I am not getting charge and she said all was done and the account was closed. Three hours later the lady called me up and asked me to come back to open my rental unit because it was closed. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED I told her that I have my locked and my keys with me somebody must have locked the unit without communicating with their fellow co workers. I am not happy how they deal with my situation.

The staff seemed unprepared, and lacking in knowledge. When we first arrived, we were told that there was no booking under our name. After showing the staff my emailed confirmation, they pulled up our information without issue. I was sincerely disappointed in this, and it required me to find a charger so that I could pull up my emailed confirmation, and added unnecessary stress. After checking in, we were sent to a locker that already had a lock on it. I then had to wait in line again, to inform them that this locker was not vacant. An unreasonable amount of time was spent addressing these issues. The unit itself was advertised as ample storage for a studio-1 bedroom apartment. It was not, but at the stage this was realized we were unwilling to wait on staff to find an alternative. Positives: The unit was clean & accessible, and there were various dollies that customers could use to move their items.

Pass-thru storage parking is great specially if you have a trailer to unload. Only problem during my storage rental experience is the maintenance work done and the pass-thru gate closed requiring to turnback inside the crowded parkway. Construction debris also blocking inside the pass-thru parkway.
