My first reservation I made, no one was available for pick up and I had to downsize the size of my truck and that made me make more trips I was not happy about thatFelicia F.
Poor customer service; employee checking me in wasn't able to explain my transaction costs (I had pre-paid for my order) and upgraded the truck beforehand; I also rented a dozen furniture pads with my order and they weren't in the truck upon arrival (I was told to take a package in the store, but there were only 6 per my count).Tiffany W.
I had to leave the truck in the hands of a representative during check out. When I got my bill the gas was less than when I dropped it off and I was charged. I called about it. It was $12.38. I can't verify what happened. Unless the gas gauge is not properly working. But it showed the needle laying on full with engine on. 15/16. The bill showed 33.1 gallons on it. I calculated distance as 12.8 miles. The bill showed 14. I got my bill the following day. Next time I'll take pictures. Otherwise I had no problem. TheELAYNE J.

I did everything on my phone to pick up the truck and the next step it told me to do was to go in the office, pick up the keys from an associate at the counter and find the truck. I went in there and the person there basically took all my information a second time and due to technical difficulties on their computer and pinpad system, I was there for AN HOUR. The Uhaul was not in an easy to find place. Thank trick I rented wouldn't start. We had to call roadside assistance because the steering wheel was locked and the key wouldn't turn. It took us 40 minutes to leave the parking lot. We kept having the same problem throughout the day and continued to have difficulty starting the truck. Also the pick up and drop off location was changed within less than 24 hours of the pick up time, not given me a lot of notice. The pick up and drop off locations were very inconvenient and resulted in us returning after hours where we were charged an â€œafter hours feeâ€ that I wasn't aware of prior and also paying for gas to fill the tank.Hillary S.

This was one of the most painful and complicated moving experiences I've ever had. First, the location of my Ubox pickup was changed the night before at 7pm and no one notified me of the time that my Ubox would be ready for my movers to pickup. After several calls to customer service, I found that I could not change my pickup time to early morning, which i had requested, because they were building the boxes on the day of. Second, Uhaul only notified me that I â€œmightâ€ need a permit for delivering in my neighborhood. I called to schedule delivery three weeks before and was never asked by anyone at uhaul if I had a permit or told that I needed one. I had asked my landlord if I needed one and they said no. The day before delivery was scheduled, I was not contacted by anyone at uhaul to confirm so I had to call them. I was then notified that they couldn't deliver without a permit and was forced to do self-pickup with no experience driving a truck or time/money to hire someone to do so for me. We scheduled the Ubox self-pickup time at 7am and when we arrived slightly later, the truck was not ready at all. We waited 45 minutes for the box to be hitched to the truck and dealt with an extremely rude staff. The truck was not hitched properly so we had to stop two blocks away from the uhaul location after a piece of the hitch had been dragging on the ground. Uhaul also did not notify me that the box had been screwed shut beyond my lock that I placed on it so I did not have any tools to open the box once I arrived at my location.LORETTA R.

I asked the representative to give me a contract that would allow me to have the van overnight and return in late the next evening. She instead put down only overnight and return early morning. The young lady who helped me had an attitude. As soon as I walked up and let her know I was picking up a truck, she waved her asked and asked my last name as if I knew what information she would need. Wasn't sure if I needed to provide a name, reservation number, etc. then I discovered there was no key to the padlock on the truck. She acted clueless when I told her there wasn't a key and asked if one was available then went right to the correct key and handed it to me after taking a deep breath. The truck got extremely hot after going 30mph and literally burned my leg. I also had to almost floor the accelerator just to go 25-30MPH. It would randomly jump as if the transmission was going out. Eddie Armstrong helped us SO much! We reserved a truck online but the party that had the truck before us was late coming back so there were no 10 foot trucks. Eddie gave us a 15 foot truck and apologized for the inconvenience numerous times but overall got us out of the door within 5 minutes and back on schedule for our move. Without him taking that initiative we would've missed the time we reserved the freight elevator in our apartment complex. The manager at this location was helpful once I was finally able to get through the hold time and automated menu. I realize staffing is tight these days, however please not I spend nearly 6 hours on hold over the course of a few days as well as 5 or six redirections before we were able to locate and remove the improperly assigned u-box. It appears to be resolved as of late Tuesday or sometime on Wednesday. All of the rented equipment has been returned and cleared off of my account. In the future, perhaps a specialist, can be reached to resolve unusual accounting situations like the one I encountered.Christopher O.

On this move I used Uhaul 3 different times. 1 to arrange for help to move, which was Great! Saved my back from moving to the 3rd floor! 2- I rented a van for my small items that I needed an extra day. The staff was really nice. 3rd- 2 young men are the reason I would return. One of them stayed on the phone with me 10 minutes while I waited for my daughter to bring my keys. That was really nice. The other young man was friendly, helpful and answered all my questions and made me laugh even when I was scared when I saw the mouse trap. No mice came home with me.
