I tried to pick up the truck using my phone but the app requested information I did not have like passport . If I uploaded my drivers license and my picture why do you require more stuff , dumb!!!! The storage itself was fine but the communication was not great. I only visited the rental maybe 5 times in the year I had it. Once my keycard didn't work and the office was a good 100 yards from the entrance. the person at the front desk must have sent me back to the gate 3 times with "try it now" before they manually opened it for. should have done that in the beginning was a bout a half hour I was waiting to get in. I also emailed the manager 3 times with no response over a 2 week period to cancel the unit when I moved out. Then also called a week before the renewal to tell them I had moved out weeks earlier. The person on the phone said it was closed. then I got an email 2 days after renewal to say I had a late fee. Then called and got another person who I think finally closed it out. so 3 emails and 2 calls just to get it closed.JASON S. | Overall Experience

Early in the week of the rental, possibly Monday for a Friday pick-up, I made a reservation online for a 4 x 7 open trailer. Later that day, I rec'd a call that the location in Green Valley did not have that size available but a 5 x 8 was. I agreed to the change. On Thursday, I visited the U-Haul location to confirm that the trailer was available. Much to my surprise, I was informed that a trailer of that size would not be available at that location until the middle of the month. Furthermore, there were none available in Green Valley. This was upsetting because arrangements were made with third parties regarding the use of the trailer on that following morning. A flurry of phone calls resulted in the move of the reservation of a trailer to Tucson, a 30 mile drive away. Bottom line is that it all worked out but I had to drive much further to acquire & return the trailer. But what would have been my situation if I had not taken the initiative to stop at the location of the original reservation to discover a trailer was not available? Might I have arrived at the arranged time on Friday morning to discover a trailer was not on the lot? Overall this was not pleasant, furthermore this could have been a major setback for the plans & arrangements made to utilise the rental trailer that morning. IMO U-Haul could have done better! The person who helped me initially barely knew the job. He was unaware that there were insurance options available. He did not offer any upgrades or options such as boxes, pads, tie-downs, etc. it was as if my presence was an annoyance. I had to call the manager to straighten out the insurance, but ended up having to drive back across town to fix it. The trailer performed adequately, but overall I was not impressed.MARK Z.

The only problem was I rented an appliance dolly and I didn't receive it! I would like a refund for the dolly rental. I had to borrow a dolly from my brother! It made for quit a difficult move!nicole T.
Actually reserve storage units. Be clear and transparent that storage units are not reserved and the free month is not real. Your marketing is inaccurate and misleading. I will avoid this location and Uhaul in the future.Steve P.
The workers were rude. I called them to keep it an extra day. The lady said okay and gave me the extra charge. Then the next day she called me and told me I needed to return it asap. That they only gave me 4 hours. If I didn't return it by a certain time they will file legal action. I told her I called and said I was having it an extra day. I am a senior, and didn't appreciate having to use so much technology regarding vehicle condition, I'd have preferred an agent help. Would have been nice to also have been shown where the gas tank was on the truck, and how to use other features. The guys just stayed inside, no help at all.Murray L.
Poor customer service offered no help when their were technical difficulties with the machine declining my card, then a sales associate who knew nothing of the situation added her input making me feel I was doing something wrong. Never once apologized for the inconvenience it was just a constant battle of this is what is wrong figure out how to fix it on your own.ANNA L.

U-Haul, I have several complaints. Firstly, my original reservation (#20015285) was to pick up the truck, trailer and supplies at 6301 E Golf Links Rd, Tucson AZ 85730. U-Haul guaranteed that if it wasn't available, I'd get $50. Well, my reservation was not there on my pickup date. I was directed to pickup at a different location (1265 E Benson Hwy, Tucson, AZ 85713) and that made me fall behind in schedule by almost 2 hours. When I was finally ready to take the keys to the truck and trailer, I opened the back of the truck and it was empty. I was told I was good to go but my dolly and blankets were not there. I told the U-Haul rep that and he quickly loaded the dolly and blankets. I also didn't receive the correct amount of blankets. I ordered 50, paid for 50 but only received 27 blankets. Lastly, when I arrived to my final destination, as I was unloading, the over the cab area was wet and several of my cardboard boxes were soaked. Evidently, there was a leak in the upper front left corner of the truck and it appeared to have been stuffed with cardboard to attempt to prevent a known leak. I would like my $50 credit for not having my original contract at my guaranteed location. I'd also like to escalate the issues with the leak and the 27 of 50 blankets. Aaron KelleyAaron K.
When I first filled out the U-Haul application on your website, I selected a use time of 4 hours. I didn't think that if I went over this amount of time that it would really make a big difference, in a monetary manner. Was I ever wrong about that! Your manager informed me, when I showed up to pick up the pickup truck, that I would be charged an additional day if I returned the truck any later than 1:00 p.m.. I then told her that I would like to have the truck for 8 hours. She then informed me that this vehicle was not available for 8 hours. I told her that I thought that was quite a burn, on U-Haul's part. She informed me that she didn't make the rules. I told her I know that, but to let the management know that I don't like it. She said nothing, at that point. I consider this lack of flexibility on the part of U-Haul, especially if there was no other reservation in line for the vehicle, to be enough that I will not be returning to U-Haul as a customer. There are many other vendors who will not try to penalize me, as a customer, when I'm obviously trying to get a few things done, in a day. To restrict a person to what they may fill out or punch in on an application and not allow any leeway, whatsoever, is way too strict an interpretation and really, in no way, does that make for a rock solid contract. Your manager, at that location anyway, is doing U-Haul a disservice by holding your customers to whatever they may have punched in at the time of application. If that's not U-Haul's policy, then you need to let that woman know with gusto, because she's certainly left me with a very negative impression. Gracias por tu tiempo.John P.

I had zero issues with the employees at this location. So I originally ordered a trailer at the Rita rd location and received a call 10 minutes after I ordered saying that I couldn't get it at that location and had to go to the speedway location. Got a call the day before the pick up to confirm for pick up. I got to the speedway location and I was told they didn't have a trailer for me to rent even after it was confirmed the day before. Your website sucks really bad and if you don't have the equipment at the location DONT ADVERTISE IT AT THAT LOCATION!!! So I drove at least 50 miles out of my way to two different locations and then back to the place where I got the trailer. Also why do you people not advertise or ask people if they are veterans? How hard is it to be a veteran friendly business?????? You're company and website are garbage. End of story.Corey M.

To Corporate Management, Apparently, U-Haul is now in the practice of photographing/uploading a client's actual driver's license, (not just the information but the actual license.) I was told this was a "recent" practice (last couple years?) In my opinion that is simply too invasive and unsecure to have that detailed information uploaded to anyone's database. It's Personally Identifiable Information (PII). I hope U-Haul will rescind this practice. Until they do, I will be doing business elsewhere. That being said, the service was great and staff was courteous.Maike H.

The equipment was fine (an 8x5 trailer) but what was absolutely fantastic was the customer service. Unfortunately I was in a situation where I found out last minute I was getting divorced and I had just a few hours to pack up what I was able to pack and to leave. I rented the trailer and when the woman was helping me hook it up etc. I broke down in tears. I was so stressed I did not catch her name. But I told her that I was getting divorced and this was very fast and I just had to throw my stuff and get out. She gave me a hug. She gave me a pep talk and she was just exactly what I needed at that time. I can't thank her enough. That is what makes the difference between a company that has a product and a company that hires caring people.Julia D.
First vehicle needed wiped down inside, Cup holders with sticky residual, garbage behind passenger seat, multiple exterior damage. Second vehicle was cleaned inside yet smelled like pot or something similar . Tire gauge reading was off â€¦door psi stated 35psi for all 4 tires. Numbers read 43-24-35-60. Called and was told indicator is broke. Made me a little nervous yet never would drive on freeway.Celeste D.

I had trouble making a reservation. Was told my equipment would be ready for pick up. It wasn't. I had to go to another location to pick up my truck. Of which had a check engine light, which luckily I noticed soon enough to go back and switch out trucks. Because of all the issues and getting such a late start that office gave me an extra day. However I had to then return to this office to get my car hauler. Luckily there were no problems there.Cindy V.

I returned the equipment I rented and was charged twice and no one had checked me out. When I returned the equipment they advised me that's all I needed to do asked for my name and that was all I asked if I had to sign something they said no you're fine. I got a call 3 days later asking me for the rental and I told them I had returned ur and I was told they had not checked me out I was upset due to my credit card being charged again.Alan T.

I reserved my truck locally 9 or 10 days prior to my pick up date. The morning I was to pick it up I received a call that the site I was picking up at forgot to put the key in the lock box. Then I was told ALL local locations were closed due to the holiday weekend. My truck had to be picked up 30 miles from my home. I had to pay for those miles and gas for something I should not be charged for. I was very upset to find this out the hour before my scheduled pick up time. The dispatch person said multiple locations notified her on Friday they would be closed for the weekend. Why was this not published when I reserved the truck. I had to pay for 50 extra miles and gas in a truck that was not planned for. I feel like I was scammed . I'm very upset about this. I want my money back for the extra miles and gasoline. Let me start with the facility itself is very clean, great location, and some of the staff are very friendly and helpful. My issue with this facility, and the reason for the lower rating is the challenge in redeeming the free month of storage u-haul offers. They claim at 90% they don't have to honor the contract you have yet a call to corporate and they will tell you that is NOT the policy.
