I just sent an email to U-Haul corporate explaining my scenario. While the dropoff at this location went smoothly and the rep was kind, I feel as though I was bait-and-switched by the company overall. The location I tried to rent through told me they would price match a quote from Budget that was around $650 cheaper. Of course, U-Haul doesn't actually allow you to select where you pick your truck up. So the day of the pickup, I was sent an hour North to pick up the truck, where they did not honor what I was told about the price match. A representative from U-Haul corporate called me after the local fleet manager escalated the situation, and was incredibly rude and insinuated that I was a liar; also saying he did not have the time to call the original location to discuss this. I was incredulous that anyone in a reputable brand these days would treat a customer that way. There were no other 26" trucks available in the area from Budget by the time they disclosed that they would not in fact price match nor give me any kind of discount. So I drove an hour north to pay $650 more than I needed to for a truck that honestly shook me like a cocktail for 3 days. I will most likely never do business with U-Haul again and would advise against renting their moving trucks.WILLIAM M.

Overall it was a good experience. My box said it arrived in Henderson about a week before they actually came to drop it off at my residence. If possible it, would be nice if early delivery was offered since I was in the area already. The trailer was filthy when I picked it up. It would be nice if equipment is cleaned before rented out to customers. The trailer was also not totally in repair - while driving, part of the trailer came apart (the mechanism for raising and lowering to put on the hitch). This was discovered near another U-Haul site. They were able to do a quick-fix, allowing us to proceed. Inspect your equipment for wear and tear.Douglas D.

The truck was fairly new, with less than 100,000 miles and worked great. HOWEVER, we rented it for a trip across several states in the middle of winter and the windshield wipers were old and did not work well and the wiper fluid was not for below zero weather and so it froze halfway through a storm in South Dakota. Since it had been filled prior to our rental, we could not do anything about it other than buy below zero fluid and pull over to manually wash the windows.Natalia K.

This is the only place I would use. This was Christmas Eve. Travis has always been so patient and very kind to us. He fixed out electrical hookup immediately. I brought him breakfast on my return but he was off, so the other two kind gentlemen enjoyed! There are two items I would mention, When you walk in the front door you can't SEE the counter, too many stacked boxes to be sold and please vacuum all the screws in the parking lot. I had a rruck quote from online, and the website stated to visit the location for military and veteran discounts so rather than book online I visited the store in person, when I got there they said they didn't have the 10' truck I could have reserved online, and up-sold me to a 14' truck, the whole thing ended up costing more with my meager â€œdiscountâ€ than it would have if I would've booked online and taken the larger truck as a concession.Nantena B.

The customer service was terrible. Per our conversation with the uhaul representative at the time of creating the contract we hired 2 movers (as well as the truck) and prepaid for their support. The uhaul rep guaranteed me that they would be there and that he could see they were available. Clearly a false representation to gain the rental contract. Fill trucks fuel tanks always instead of 1/4 tank. Inform customers verbally of the $30 charge and $4.00 per gallon for vehicles brought back with less than 1/4 tank. I chose to get a uhaul to get the storage offer. After my long trip I stopped by to drop it off and unload my things. They sold my storage, didn't have me on file and gave me a 5x5 instead for a packed 6x12 trailer and a filled suburban. Here's the small thing first. You might want to update and revise your wording on office hours and access hours. I was under the impression that after checking into my unit that I had until 10pm access my unit. While moving my things into my units(argh!) I was told I needed to be out by 7pm... I was moving cross country and got there at 5:30pm. Here's the big one. I reserved one of your biggest units since I had a lot of stuff. I called 2 or 3 hours ahead of arrival to make sure everything was in order and was assured by the lady everything was and the unit was ready. When I got there I was told that my reserved big unit was not available like I was assured and have paperwork on. It was to be on first floor as well so my 75 year old father didn't have to take stairs. I was offered 2 smaller units that barely allowed my furniture to fit nicely and not pretty much everything is just thrown in these two units because of size constraints and time allowed. My plan for the big unit was to make everything accessable to me when needed, it is not. Why have reservations for your units if you can't honor them? Again I called to confirm 2-3 hours before my arrival and was assured that it was there waiting for me! I would have looked elsewhere, but couldn't take the time to do so on account of the time I arrived, returning back from Seattle, and that the trailer was due back in Laurel the next day. The two guys that were helping me we're fine even though I was quite frankly very angry at this situation. They did try to help as much as possible. I could rattle on and on over this, I will end with I am great disappointed with u-haul and its failure to honor its word. I expect more from the people here in MT.Tate S. | First Impressions

The staff here are young guys which is fine. Not sure if it's because they are very busy. But just not overly kind or friendly. We have 3 units in Pleasanton CA where we live. It's spotless And has a courteous staff. 2 weeks into having this unit I received a phone call from a young man there letting me know he had let a patron inadvertently cut our lock off thinking it was his unit I could not understand why it wasn't one of the workers there. His response to me was mistakes happen. Then tells me keys are hung up on the wall for the new lock. I asked him to please put them in the safe and that I would have. A friend come pick them up.
