The guy that was checking us in was constantly complaining that he was understaffed. If you need more employees, you could offer them more pay.. The charge of 25 dollars to clean an already clean truck was ridiculous. Spraying sanitizer should not be charged to your customers. We will not be back.Lori H.

one REALLY frustrating part of the experience was that the truck's gas tank wasn't full on pickup. It was just under half-empty. Since I don't know exactly what kind of gas mileage the vehicle will get at different load states, that leaves me having to guess at the gas station. I put $120 of fuel in the tank to fill it up just in case, then barely put a dent in that amount by the time I'd finished driving. EXTREMELY frustrating, and I feel like I was cheated. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some of that refunded.Grant H.

I don't understand the purpose of reserving online for specific times if the vehicles isn't going to be ready. The car hauler I rented was not as described. When I determined that the trailer would cause damage to my vehicle I called the UHaul office to tell them the issue 57 minutes after receiving the equipment. I was told they had no larger trailers and that they would not give me a refund because I had the trailer for an hour. I returned the equipment 73 minutes after receiving it. Jen in the office was rude and would not get off the phone the entire time I was in the office (not with a customer, she specifically mentioned it was the GM). Hire a better manager who would know how to talk to a customer when difficult situations arise. Prior to driving away from the office I had inquired about the safety of the truck . I then stopped over the following morning to make sure things were still alright. Manager at this place was very abusive to me over the phone and my friend /colleague in person at tge store . He did not acknowledge that they had provided a defective truck in the first place. But U-Haul customer service roadside assistance were very helpful in a timely fashion. the manager at this facility did not acknowledge the fact that there had been a problem and kept denying it till the end. The difficult part is the location itself. It's on a blind corner of a 40-mph street. Adding to the difficulty in seeing what's coming, the location stands large signs right next to the curb, obstructing the already limited view of oncoming traffic.PHILLIP B.

When I got there to pick up truck there was no staff around. I had to wait 15 minutes just to see someone and then staff was not nice. I felt like I was at the DMV. When all was said and done I paid more then double what I ordered the truck for. It was overbooked and I did not get the truck on the time I reserve it. They try their best to give me other truck but it was too big and wont fit where I go. When I asked them to find me on other branch they just give a number to call. I wish when that happened they are the one help me find on the other area instead of me calling around since I reserved it days before I came. But the other guy was really nice and promise to call me as soon a truck came in even he is frustrated because of they are having truck shortage he manage to do his best and talk nicely.Iris N.

A few weeks ago, had an experience when I rented a truck. I was disappointed that I had used the app to check in to save tons of time, yet ended up being shuffled from truck to truck for almost an hour while I had friends waiting. But it was business as usual, with no offer for free use of a hand truck or furniture dolley. Some kind of consolation would have been appreciated. The staff at this location did well at resolving a conflict with issues that were had while towing this trailer. The trailer rented had some electrical issues and in the timeframe I had it I burned up two boxes of fuses and the spares in my truck. The trailer was however clean. This location has a small hard to get into parking lot that gets packed very easy.Gabriel H.

The location has a few workers. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment but had to wait more than I expected to get the van to do my moving. I scheduled a time with my friends that came to help with my moving and I was late to meet them. And when I returned the van the the a girl inside of the store asked me to leave the key outside that they would check and I was good to go. After 1 hour they called me to ask about the van and I had to explained that I already returned that before the time expected. They need to be more organized and ready to help customer.Rosemeire L.

I went onto the app to check in the truck and I was so frustrated because it doesn't allow you to take a pic. I then went out took a regular photo and tried to upload and it also didn't work at all.. so today I'm in covid ICU and I'm going room to room but can't have or touch my phone and I put it on speaker and had a coworker listen out for someone to pick up. I had one gentlemen answer and then I told him I need to make sure that I don't get charged that for a the fault of the app and he said yes let me transfer you and I then waited two hours with the phone on speaker in the middle of the ICU and then the heart physician finally told him to just hang up that it was resiculousâ€¦ I am super frustrated and very very upset that o can't tell them what happening so someone else doesn't have to go through that. My twin and I have used that U-Haul multiple times and the app has never worked ever, my twin just pays the extra twenty â€¦ please if you could address this I would appreciate it. When I arrived no one was in the store, there were 2 in front of me. When it came to the problem from the pick up location she didn't seem pleased that it wasn't a Uhaul company store. She also told me that I won't be refunded the mileage overage charge. Acted like she didn't care!Richard L.
Get rid of this General Manager! I have used U-Haul for many years and have never been treated like I was this past time when renting from the BOUNTIFUL, UTAH location, 2150 S 500 W. I needed a 10' box truck to pick up a new sofa, love seat and chair I had just purchased. This location had one priced at $19.95 for 24 hours. The day I picked up the truck the two individuals that were working were actually very helpful and friendly, much like past U-haul experiences. This issue came a little later on in the day after picking up my new living room set and getting back to my apartment building, I found out that our elevator was out of order. There was no way I would be able to get some help to move in that first night. I called U-haul and asked if I had the truck for 24 hours, they confirmed that I did, and I immediately began my search for furniture movers. I had until 3:45 pm the following day to get the furniture off of the truck and into my apartment. I found some movers that were willing to help, but could not be too my apartment until 4:00 pm. Fifteen minutes later than my anticipated return time. I was less than five minutes away from the U-haul location. When I called and explained the situation the person I spoke with at first said she could push the return back a couple more hours, I said that would be amazing! Then things changed. I was then told that I would be charged for the full day rate again, the insurance, the pack of furniture pads that was never opened, the appliance dolly that was never placed in the truck (I had no appliances) and the furniture dolly. So double charges on everything but the mileage. When I explained to the lady on the phone that I did not rent an appliance dolly, she became very rude and said, if it's on the agreement, you rented it. When asked about the furniture pads that were never un-packaged, she rudely accused me of using them and resealing the package! I then asked to speak with the manager because I felt like she was treating me very rudely and not a valued customer. She advised me that she was the general manager. I asked for her boss's name and she hesitantly gave that to me. She told me that the silly charges would be removed and they weren't, she would not budge on the unused still sealed in the original package, furniture pads. This place will nickle and find you for everything. I will continue to use U-haul for future moving needs, I WILL NOT use the Bountiful U-haul located at 2150 S 500 W in Bountiful Utah and I will steer every person that I know away from this location for their rental needs.Robert H.

I really like our storage unit and the ability to pay by automatic payment. But when you changed your policy to only accept a credit card and not debt I left because I do not want charges made on a credit card. All payments previously came out of bank account. I move out from their a week later. You list my business. Plus you didn't even notify me of your change and charged my account a $15.00 late fee. Way to go. So I thought my unit was paid. I have had a awesome experience with the employees and Jen the manager. I was about to move my belongings elsewhere pror of Jen becoming manager due to lack of communication with the previous manager he was horrible. I have been at ease knowing that the security is highly watched and I have my units inside. It's pleasant to be able to pull your vehicle in the bay to load unload or go through your units A/C in summer & HEAT in the winter and all indoors. Moving can be a stressful time in anyone's life. I have moved dozens of times and used U-haul for all of my moving needs. This past Saturday, 5/1/2021, I was scheduled to meet the guys from Moving Help at 9:30 to unload the U-haul into a storage unit. Because the paperwork wasn't completed, I arrived at 9:00am at which time Jen Barker informed me that the system went down. There were people lined up in the store and U-haul trucks lined up in the yard for check-in...not surprising as this was the 1st of the month on a weekend. Jen and Brandon helped customers as fast as fast as they could using "old school" paper and pen methods. Jen couldn't use the computer to locate the unit I reserved, so we went looking for an available unit by foot. The process was time consuming, but not the fault of the U-haul team. We located the vacant unit and proceeded with paperwork, so the movers could unload the U-haul truck. Because the computer was down, every transaction took longer than expected, but Jen and Brandon were dedicated to helping everyone who walked in as best they could like pros, never rude and always polite and professional. We started using the storage unit in May 2020. We put this unit on autopay from my credit card. In August, I received an email stating that my payment was late. I called facility and asked about it. I was told to ignore it. I went to access my storage unit on Friday, October 9, 2020. I found a non-payment lock on it. I was told that a janitor had change the ownership to "John Doe". It was explained that he was older, new and not very good with computers. I am still considering moving my belongings to another facility. I think it is extremely poor policy to allow a janitor to change a storage unit status and not to keep a historic record of storage unit ownership. The that helped me reestablish my storage unit were very apologetic, helpful and informative.
