I made the reservation with the main company with a phone call then when I showed up to the location the people kept talking about what kind of idiot made these reservations then instead of charging me the rate that I was quoted on the phone they went ahead and redid everything and recharged me and I got screwed out of 180 miles that I pre-paid for I thought it was piss poor. After they got it all done they let me know that the corporation has no idea how to read reserve these trucks and that I should've went right there instead of talking to anybody from the corporation of U-Haul

It rained and the truck leaked. Some of my boxes wee wet. No compensation no one cared my stuff was damaged. Rented a 20ft truck and the top shelf had puddles on it.

The truck had some issues. Notable the loading door was extremely difficult to open and close. The lock was unusable. And the steering was very loose which was a challenge with a full load and was rather dangerous when empty on a windy return.

The left mirror was not secure and moving. The store manager was able to get a repair person within 30 minutes repair. If this did not occure then my move with two moving teams would have needed to be canceled. Very great repair person with a can do attitude.

When I checked in I was asked the same questions I answered online during my reservation. Seemed duplicative and there should be a way for the agent to already have those answers stored in my profile. I also paid extra for an appliance dolly and would have also expected the truck to be prepped with it inside instead of me having to carry it out myself. It was a self service experiences vs a full service. I also only needed the truck for an hour and paid the same as renting for an entire day. Would have been nice to see a prorated daily rate - but I suppose that is your business model. Truck was clean and full with gas!

The truck was very clean because it was brand new. I must complain, however, about the ride. I have never driven a truck that had such a rough ride, which is ironic as it was labeled as a comfort-ride van. I could feel every bump in the road and at times the bouncing and shaking was so bad it was downright unbearable. It was as if there was no suspension on the truck at all.

We picked up the truck with 1/2 tank and returned it with 1/2 tank, yet were charged for fuel the return paperwork nd original contract both show 1/2 tank. This is wrong!

Location is convenient and I have rented equipment there numerous times previously with no problems. However this time the truck was not ready when I arrived and the one that I was given was dirty and smelled terribly like cigarette smoke.

I was supposed to get a truck from Holland, MI and two days before my reservation I was notified that there were no 10' trucks in Holland. I had a long discussion with the traffic representative and was able to get a truck in Benton Harbor, MI that was round trip rather than one way to make it more convenient for U-haul, they also added extra miles for me since it would be round trip rather than one way. I got to the Benton Harbor U-haul, checked in and went to the desk to get my keys only to find out that the people in front of me needed a 10' truck as well. The representative at the desk was just going to give the truck I was already checked in for to the folks in front of me, which I reminded him of and let him know that 10' was the easiest for me as where I was going was quite narrow. He then got on the phone and made some calls and it was determined that there was an available 10' truck in South Haven, MI so someone would have to drive there to get that truck. As that was on my way to Holland, I volunteered to go. The whole situation is ridiculous however because I had to use my own vehicle to drive to South Haven, had I arrived 10 minutes earlier and been checked in, I could've left the Benton Harbor location with the 10' truck there and not had to do extra driving.

I checked out my rental with the owner, Carol King, at the counter. She was very unhelpful and rude with my questions. The vehicle was also dirty with broken glass and debris when rented. I would not rent again from this location.

We were charged twice. Paid online and then the card was swiped at the store. We thought it was to confirm us. But it charged us twice. The parking lot has some massive holes in it too.

The customer service representative Eric who checked me in at the store site was very helpful. The previous night I spoke with a customer service representative by phone in the U-Haul call center and in speaking with him I requested if I could extend my truck return time at no charge and he assured me that that would not be a problem. he offered to extend my time to 5 PM with no charge. I clarified with him that there would be no charge and he assured me it was a courtesy and there would be no charge. When I arrived at the store apparently that conversation with the call center had not been noted on my account and the system charge me $54 for the time extension Eric was very helpful and courteous and rectifying the problem for me and helping me to choose a storage unit that suited my needs. He was also helpful and getting the truck maneuvered to where I could unload easily. Eric is a very helpful courteous and respectful customer service representative. Thank you Eric!
