Need more training, reps didn't know how to do a simple box return. Stop advertising that you will take boxes back without mentioning terms. Bought boxes online and said couldn't take back because didn't buy there. Gave him my order numbers at least 8-9 times, kept calling on call manager at home fir support, wouldn't pick up after first call leaving staff stranded. Was there for over an hour for a simple return, never got a refund. Returned 48 furniture pads, made us carry them all in, guy came out and carried in last 5. Your customer service does not communicate well. They do not listen, they totally messed up our home move and we feel the $3000 should come back to our pockets for a 60 mile move. Nothing went right. I have 3 complaints in. The only good people that were there were basically 2 managers, Allen and Heather and the 2 truck drivers otherwise everybody else can't get their crap together. I will not recommend this to anybody else. In fact if anybody asked you'll get a negative response from me. 60 mile move took over 2 weeks to get our stuff. We were told that in the state when we 1st signed up signed up her face-to-face that the delivery would be like 135 So we were OK with that but then we call customer service to have these picked up and delivered 60 miles away and we're told it's going to be $3000. That's $3000. More than we should have paid. I personally feel you owe us $3000 so my comments for your company will not be good. And since I'm a senior citizen and so's my husband trust me trust me will it everybody we know here about this gouge and Your company Kind of coerced us into having to pay that because you already had our boxes with our stuff in your storage. We had no idea that it was gonna cost thousands more. By the way $3000 more for 10 miles "really". Oh and then not arriving on time. And your customer service had no knowledge of where they where they were due to the shipper having them. We are senior citizens, you had all our possessions in your storage and then you tell us that it's gonna cost us thousands more till deliver to our home 60 miles away, That's EXTORTION. We were stuck between a rock and a heart spot because you already had everything. We're angry and honestly if it wasn't because we paid you $3000 more, we take you to court. But again we're senior citizens on an fixed income. You guys took us to the cleaners.Delbert F.
The process to coordinate a full service move using move.com was a bit problematic since I was quoted one price for two uboxes but charged $100 extra since the location didn't provide a trailer which accomodated two uboxes. I suspect the movers may not be honest and maybe their vehicle didn't work with a two box trailer though so I am not reducing uhaul's rating. I just wished it was more seamless.Lea E.

Using the uhaul storage pods ended up to be one of the worst moving decisions I have made and I will never do that again. When I initially called to set up the uhaul pods, the staff said, â€œit's super simple,â€ they would be delivered, I could pack them up, they would be stored and then WHENEVER I wanted, they would be dropped off at the requested location. The initial steps occurred with the hiccup that uhaul decided to change the location of the pod pick up/storage location, which was farther from both the place I was moving from and to. This issue was dealt with, not by uhaul being accommodating and helpful, but because I had hired some wonderful very accommodating movers (independent from uhaul) so they solved any initial issues with getting the pods delivered, packing them up and returning them to the storage. I stored the pods for a few weeks. When I called to request them to be delivered at the new location (30 miles from the uhaul storage) by the next week, I was told there were no delivery trucks from uhaul available to drop off the pods for at least a month! And even that wasn't guaranteed. I would have to hire an independent moving company to pick them off and drop them off separately or do it myself. I was quoted $650 to have them picked up and dropped by a different co, which did not include unpacking. When asked if their were other options, the uhaul rep very reluctantly told me no. Moving is stressful as it is and uhaul added to the stress, additional costs I was required to pay to get my things back and created additional issues while being extremely limited in their abilities to rectify the problems their service created. Not to mention during this whole experience I was 28 weeks pregnant, working full time and in grad school full time so my bandwidth to deal with these issues was pretty non-existent. I felt like uhaul did NOT meet the expectations they set for this service. I will never use them again and will advise others to seriously consider all other options.alexisnada R.

The wood uBox structure is poorly built as they are breaking apart at the door and very difficult to close and open. I see there are newer containers that constructed with metal outside in my area - and those look much better constructed.Penny W.

Had drop off at our new house on 6/25 and scheduled return on 6/27. Not only was my china hutch delivered with shattered glass but pickup didn't happen until 7/14. Nobody came to pick it up and then I was charged again due to their inability to pick it up. I got a refund via corporate. Even after that I called nearly every other day to get the uhaul picked up. Constantly getting told that "You'll get a call from our driver and it will be picked up today". The ubox ended up being stuck in our driveway for 2.5 weeks!! Stopping furniture delivery and multiple other aspects of our move in. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced being given the constant run around. Don't give pick-up dates if they aren't true and deliver broken furniture that I'm still waiting on the insurance quote on. All the negative impacts on the move were via the jacksonville/ north little rock location, not the California location.Kaylynne R.

I called to ship my u-box on 4/9. By 4/20 I had not received any communication on the status of my box in regards to the shipping process. I sat on the phone for 4 hours on 4/20 to find out that my u-box was missing. No one reached out to try and contact me to let me know, find a solution etc. If I never called on 4/20 would they have ever contacted me about my box? I'll never know. My box shipped 2 weeks after my first contact with the company which pushed the guaranteed delivery date out 2 more weeks. Luckily, the box arrived 2 days after the first guaranteed delivery date, so I didn't have to wait a full month to receive my items. When your box arrives you have to wait 24 hours to retrieve it. No one told me this either, so I had facilitated a truck to pick up my box & then I couldn't get it. The entire process was stressful and inconvenient and communication was terrible.Audrey R.
I want to specifically call out the employee by the name of Monique. She went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with this reservation. She not only took all the time I needed to resolve my issues and complete my reservations, but she gave me her personal cell phone in case I needed to reach her. This was because it can be awhile on hold to reach someone. This employee needs to be commended for her superior service. She gives U-Haul a very good name. Please ensure that her supervisor recognizes her for the work she did. Also, when I visited the Anaheim location to get into my boxes, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. When I just called your main number, I reached a gentleman by the name of Rod and he also provided superior service. He should also be commended for good service. Meagan is the woman who initially delivered the boxes to my home that I sold and then picked them up. She was terrific!! Overall, I did like the service and would recommend it to anyone. But, my personal experience was not all that good. My container got lost and I was led along for over a week before it was found and finally delivered 13 days late. I also had damaged furniture due to the handling of the box, it clearly got twisted, tipped to the side, or somehow mishandled to cause the damage.Marshall S.
The process was very easy. Everything arrived safely and staff was all friendly. My box arrived early to its destination. I would recommend. The only hiccup was with origin pick up. I had to delay the pickup time for an hour and was given a 10:30 AM time. Totally fine and was thinking 11-11:30 would be ideal since I had to reschedule. The truck came at 12:30 for pickup without a call on being delayed. I had a few errands to run so if I knew it was going to be delayed by over an hour I would have gotten those things done.Rebecca K.

I could not have imagined that even during the Pandemic my first time experience with U-Haul would have gone so smoothly. My reservation was for a cross country move. U-haul voicemails and emails were a unexpected pleasure. I was alerted to pickup and final destination with updated information and even promptly refunded for several days of delivery delays. I was really impressed with my experience. Everyone was so helpful and made sure that our things got to where they needed to go. The only inconvenience was the dimensions of the pods internally was ever so slightly smaller than what was listed online, and this meant our couch didn't fit so we had to leave it. We hated the couch anyway, but I could see other people getting really frustrated in that situation. You might want to update the specs online to be a half inch smaller or so to account for the wood warping.Hillary A.

This was NOT Anaheim Hills. This was National City, CA. Glad I also visited this odd location to see the inside of Pod and to chat with a driver. I have an angled 30 degree driveway where I saved $800. for a silly city permit not to rest one pod on the street for 2 days. My driver was terrific and supportive. I used to drive forklifts and she knew hers 5 times better, placing the pods EXACTLY where 4 would fit. She also had great efficiency with handling a minor neighbor issue. With short notice, the delivery was delayed causing us to lose our reserved assistance. When asked, no one would/could provide a reason. Checking the weather on all possible routes, it was obvious that the weather wasn't the issue. We were then charged additional rent for the boxes which took several days to correct.Dick M.

Oh so many problems with everything related to customer service. Customer service continued passing me around the automated system, probably spent a total of 3 hours on the phone trying to figure out what was going on with my pod since September20th or so. On top of all of that, when my pod got to Austin, I was told I didn't have anything at all booked for delivery- spent another 45 minutes on the phone. You incorrectly charged the wrong card which pulled a grand in the negative, then charged the right one without a credit. So I was out a total of 4K for a week until the credit was applied. Horrible customer service, no one wanted to help. Boxes were days late getting to the destination so I had no help to pickup and unload. I kept my end of the contract, I even paid TWICE for a week. Apparently contract rules only apply to the customer, not UHaul. Go with someone else, anyone else. It is worth the money to get what you pay for and in a timely manner.River F.

I overall had a great experience...I was supposed to receive my box on Aug 4 but it didn't arrive here on time. I have no problem with that I just wish some one would have called to let me know so I didn't spend the day waiting when I could have been getting other things done. But I enjoyed all the staff!!! I was very happy with choosing uhaul. I would choose them again or recommend them.
