The woman who helped me out picking up the car was nice. However I ordered a appliance dolly For $10 which was zip tied and I couldn't even use at all. I also ordered a dozen moving blankets for $10 and they didn't even throw them in the truck. So I spent $20 for nothing.

The Gas was empty and they told me have to put gas, I even could not reach a 0.5 Gas station and the truck turned off in the middle of street in front of the times union. I wait one hour for my friend to bring gas. The prices were so higher then normal.

I am very displeased with uhaul as I got the storage unit and a truck. I was told that the lock would be removed off the unit so I could load my things and much to my suprise when I got to the storage unit after uhaul closed but storage was still open my unit still had a store lock on it which caused me to have to drive back to we’re I picked up my stuff which added more miles and took more gas. I really hope this is not how uhaul does business

They did charge my credit card for this service. Smells like a scam facilitated through Uhaul reservations. Had to arrange other movers on moving day.

This time the rental truck was not sanitized or disinfected and it smelled like cigarette smoke. I was scared to touch the steering wheel, gears, signal wand , wiper wand, radio dial, seat, seatbelt, and doorlocks for fear of contracting COVID. This is not usually my experience at this location.

The van I rented didn't run very well or get good mileage. Specifically, the transmission. I had to get very high RPMs before it would shift gears. I would be very nervous about using that vehicle on a long trip. My total mileage for a short in town move was 8, and yet I used almost a quarter tank of gas.

Female Associate at front desk was extremely rude , cursing in conversation with my fiancé . I am in this uhaul location at a minimum of twice a week for truck rental . The women made the process extremely difficult and prolonged . It took me 1.5 hours to check in and a least 2 hours to check out . I always put a card on file and pay cash to rent , the women would not take my cash even with a card on file for a payment on top of her not clarifying the original $45 she took of my card would be on hold and I would still have to pay more money on top of that . Because of this associate I will take my business to Penske and pay more for the customer service .

Don't change the pickup location of the requested vehicle. Don't misrepresent how "easy" the self-service pickup will be, and then ask for things like a photo of a passport at the time of pickup. Don't have fast talking people and people with terrible phone service call me at the last minute and try and work out details. All of this stuff should be done BEFORE the reservation is booked. Don't pretend you have the easy way to rent your trucks until it's too late for the person to do anything about it and then hit them with all these tasks when they have lots of other things already on their mind.

The van was covered in dog hair (inside) and ice and snow (outside) when I picked it up. It was difficult to locate the van and I was not able to complete the contactless check-in process. The staff was helpful when I engaged them but it was not a smooth process.

Got charged over 100 dollars extra because the last person used mobile pick up, left the back of the truck a mess with expired oil and a bunch of other crap. Lied about the mileage, the gas. So I was charged for their doing. Had to make a bunch of phone calls was told that it would take 3 business days to dispute when they took MY money, absolutely not. Received a phone call from the manager saying I'd be refunded which is great but now I have to wait for it to go back into my account when it should've never happened in the first place. Mind you when I went to pick up the truck it was unorganized to begin with, couldn't find the keys. When I dropped off the truck there was a whole line of rentals waiting to drop off with nobody out there. Went inside and she asked “there's no one out there?” I said no and she told me to leave the keys with her and I'd get a receipt the next day. I've rented plenty of trucks from other places. By far the WORST experience.

Reserved a vehicle days in advance, got a confirmation email. When I showed up at my time, was told that there were no vehicles available. Took them 45 minutes to realize there was a vehicle available for me to use, though it wasn't the size I reserved. Most workers weren't wearing masks. Vehicle I ended up being given needed snow removed from the top. They charged me more than the estimated price and I still have no idea why this is. Vehicle I was given had a 1/4 tank of gas I returned it with almost a 1/2 tank of gas and was charged $16 more for going over my estimated mileage. It's impressive that every aspect of this experience was worse than I expected.

The staff at the Broadway U haul is always top notch. I rent work equipment regularly from this location and everytime, they have a wide selection of equipment to help me and are always very knowledgeable and friendly and even at times go out of their way to see my rental experience is the best it can be. I will always choose uhaul! This is a great team!

Staff member who helped us with our reservation was disengaged and very confusing and he was very poor at communicating. The 7th was extremely hot/humid and not suitable for storing boxes. The bill does not appear on the online account until the day it is due, resulting in an unnecessary late charge. The facility was full of spiders and leftover spider traps.

Only an “average” rating due to the fact that services provided are just... “space”. Staff is excellent, but in reality, you have very little contact outside of setting up and closing accounts if you have a storage unit. They are very helpful otherwise!!! The building is very clean and accessible. It’s only my opinion that when rental rates increase, it should only be applied to new leases. Anyone that has had a unit for a significant time should not be penalized for the difference. Thanks

My security access code NEVER works. It welcomes me when I enter the building but does not allow me access to the elevator. I have had to ask the counter help for assistance numerous times in the last 39 days. It’s annoying and inconvenient. On 10/7/2020 I got stuck on the elevator for more than 10 minutes. The elevator call for help button was not operational - which is dangerous, and illegal. I called and called and called and nobody ever picked up the phone. I was crying by the time someone came to open the door to access their own storage unit. Staff said the phone system wasn’t working. Scary.

There was no ceiling, a 6" pipe coming about 3 feet out of the floor, open, in my unit, another pipe going floor to ceiling in the unit, holes in the wall, a 5" hole going to the hallway, and full spider traps all along the floor of my unit. It was disgusting.

Although I have used your service three (3) times, there are a few things that I would like to express. I tried to reach someone at the desk, and no one picked up the phone so I pushed the help box button on the floor, and no one answered that either. Supposed I wasn't there with anyone and I was getting attached. No one would have helped me in time. Also, it is too hot and there is no air circulating in the building. I thought I was going to pass out with no air. Lastly, the doors on the unit are so thin and limp that I really didn't feel that the lock was really securing it. Anyone could come in and kick a hole in the door and take whatever they wanted and no one would ever have known it.

Staff is great, facility was well maintained and secure. When I got a new debit card and input for payement, I assumed it would go on auto pay. It didn’t, and I was charged a late fee. Certainly I could’ve and should’ve paid more attention, but you made a pretty good amount of money off me for a year seemingly without much overhead. Seemed a little gratuitous. I arrived at my storage unit At the Albany location on broadway at 7pm, just as the office was closing. I went up to my locker to move my items into the unit, however there was a pad lock on the unit with a green tag that said “customer ready”. I tried to contact the general manager who was Supposed to be available for after hours assistance, however he did not answer his phone, his voicemail box was full and he did not respond to email or text message. I was finally able to contact the security company who monitors the building, the gentleman put me through to customer service where I waited on hold for at least 30 mins. I finally spoke to Coco at customer service who suggested I “remove the green tag” and continue to move my items in. Her advice was not helpful as there was a pad lock on my unit that required a key to unlock it. I explained this again and she put me on hold for a second time to see if she could talk to the general manager. She could not reach Shannon, but assured me a local employee was on their way. I waited for two and a half hours (30 mins until access to the building closed) and no one showed up to unlock the locker. I contacted customer service a second time and spoke to a man who sent me a 47second YouTube video tutorial on how to do a mobile check in with a digital lock. This was not helpful. Since not being able to move onto my storage unit on the day I planned, I was required to bring the uhaul truck I rented back home, increasing mileage on the vehicle and needed to wait until office hours opened before I could move in. I am extremely frustrated about the whole experience using uhaul. It was a major Inconvenience for me to not be able to move in when I was supposed to. I would like to be refunded my total rental charge for the uhaul truck and 4 months rent free for the storage unit.

I rented a storage unit two days ago - squarely during the Covid-19 crisis and it did not appear that employees or the store were following NY state recommendations. There was no information about increased disinfecting protocols (and it looked like there were none in place - floor was dirty, there was a latex glove on the floor of the elevator (yuk)), employees seemed unaware of the need to use hand sanitizer before and after interacting with customers, and there were no signs letting people know they need to keep 6 feet distance. Customers stood on line as usual and the air system near the counter blew hvac air in our faces. People stood close in the elevators that rode to storage units. Covid-19 is spread by air and surfaces. The Broadway Albany Uhaul needs to up its game to keep its staff and customers safe. It seems well behind the curve compared with the communications from and protocols put into action by other large companies. Please take this virus seriously and protect your employees, your customers - your business! What steps will you take to make employees and customers safe? I would like to hear about it as currently I do not think the storage building I've rented from feels like a safe place.
