The truck ran but had braking issues and the steering felt loose. I was charged for using the truck for a whole additional day even though I had returned the vehicle the same day. The representative never explained that the vehicle had to be returned at a specific time, I was told that everything would be ok as long as the vehicle was turned in before closing. I rushed to get the vehicle back but was extremely disappointed that I was charged an additional fee for an extra day that I did not even use. I tried explaining this to the representative but they were indifferent. This experience has negatively impacted my view on UHAUL as a company and I will no longer be using UHAUL.Mathew S.

Payment process is a pain becauze their system so "down". I've rented three times from here. The first time I had no issues. The second time, the system kept declining my card becayse it was beinv2 processed as credit. They claimed the system down but tried it and it worked. I wasted 5 hours of my day before a 17 hr drive that turned into 26 due to mental exhaustion. My Third time, in 2 hours into a 5 hour drive (of a three day process) I caught a flat. Called roadside to fix the tire and continue the next 3 hrs. On the second day, 2 hours into the drive the whole wheel came off. ( Had I not been an experienced driver, that could have been a diaster!) Called roadside assistance and the trailer was replaced. Woke up on the third day and there was a flat. Roadside assistance was very helpful but between uhaul's expectation and the service company, my experience was horrifying.Joshuanna T.

Never was I informed during the rental that I could return the key, the same day, at the drop box. They failed to provide me that important information and for that lack of information I was charged an additional day because of the employees failure to notify me on this convenience. I argue with the manager on duty , she blowed me off and was very unprofessional. I will make sure, through social media to not recommend this igual store location for no one. We came with the uhaul to unload close to closing time. There was a staff member in the parking lot cleaning up but she didn't offer help until asked. She gave us the minimal information required ("Pull up and the door will open.") For example, I had to ask if one of the doors was big enough for our rental which it wasn't. She also did not offer information about how to get out once we were finished unloading. To her credit, it was the end of her shift but 30 seconds of extra info would have made our experience great. The trailer was not ready at the appointment time. The right side light fixture was not operational! I was told it would have to be replaced or a different trailer brought over from a different location.? It took over an hour and a half from the time I arrived to the time a different trailer was delivered and I was able to leave. No one truly apologized for the huge inconvenience it caused me. Well I had to changed several times the reservation of a 10 truck cargo, I went in person to changed dates for this week,A young man helped me and supposedly made changes and 2days later I see the reservation was cancelled instead of been moved ,so on 9/29/20 I needed the truck attemped to call local dealer on Boca Chica Blvd and no answer, I had only an hour to get the truck ,And I was 30 minutes away at work ,so when I got to the U Haul dealer ,There 4people I front of me and nobody on site ,I think there was a lady who was not in a good mood and although not disrespectful but her body language and her tone of voice leaves a lot to be desire especially at a place where you deal with people, I had dealt with another truck rental and didn't have the same problems, I went to this place for convenience and location at this time but In the future I will look for another dealer other than U Haul ,like Penske,That is the reason I am giving you a one star and I ended up renting a 15 truck cargo instead of the desire one size 10!!MANUEL T.

This is the most unprofessional business I’ve dealt with. I use your company regularly, when I have to use this facility I plan on difficulties. I usually don’t make comments, however this time it was a pathetic display of business practices. I reserved a drive-up storage Unit. The employee acknowledged the reservation and charged my card. When we went to the unit, there was a lock on the door. He said he would be right back. When he returned he said “my manager said it’s rented out. I asked what does a reservation mean? He said I can call another place to see if anything is available. I said as long as it is another U-Haul. He said it was. When I got there, it wasn’t. Due to my time restraint I had to use that establishment. The same size unit cost 30.00 dollars more. I need to rent a truck on the 19th to move to Florida, I will now rent a Ryder because of this unprofessional dealings. This manager should be put back to being a truck washer, keeping away from having contact with any customers.William H. | First Impressions

Make sure your scheduling department in Corpus Christi get trained better. I had to pick up my truck using the app and luckily the U-Haul place was open even though the website said it would be closed. Why do I say that, because the truck I was supposed to pick up was not available and the app said that the truck pick up had expired. I specifically asked before agreeing to pick up with the app what would happen if I was late, and the person on the U-Haul side of the phone said that that is not a problem. The U-Haul rep at the place where I was picking up the truck said he could not find my reservation and that the truck was not available. What happened to my reservation and what happened to the truck? What would have happened if the place was closed as your website said it would be? And to top it off, while the rep was finding another truck for me, I get a text From U-Haul saying that I had not picked up the truck and that I had another 3 hours to pick it up before the reservation is cancelled. I showed the U-Haul rep the text message. He didn't have an answer for me and apologized. So, instead of taking a 20 foot truck as YOU (U-Haul) asked me if I could take because you needed one in San Antonio, I only had the option of taking a 26 foot (Gas Guzzler) or a 10 foot. I was very disappointed and had to cancel a pick up of household goods because YOU (U-Haul) didn't live up to your agreement. Put yourself in my shoes. I asked for a 15 foot, you called and asked if I would take a 20 foot the next morning, then you screw up the reservation and give the truck to someone else. And I end up with a 10 foot truck. The price was outrageous. I will Never use or recommend this location to anyone! I knew it was a bad idea to choose u haul from the start as the truck I reserved ended up not being available after my reservation was confirmed. I was routed to an alternate store where the truck was not also available. The employee failed to properly explain the terms of the service or the use of the item, and much less the return process since the rental was due back after business hours. She was careless and it felt as though she was in a rush to get me out of there. The persons handing me the keys was even worse he handed the keys and simply walked away. I then called customer service to inquire about Uhauls practices and was steered wrong. Ad a result, It was the worst experience I've ever had. I incurred so many unnecessary charges that cost me more than the items I was moving. I am very disappointed and out a lot of money. Will never use u haul again.Nelda G.

I've always rented from this location on Boca Chica in Brownsville and never have I had a bad experience until this recent rental. The manager Jacklyn Guerra was extremely rude and unprofessional during the transaction with me as she was assisting her employee with the checkout of my rental. She is not customer service knowledgeable whatsoever. Besides that incident, the gentleman that booked and processed my rental was friendly and answered all of my questions. I will think twice to rent from this location just so I don't have to encounter such experience from the manager again.Laura B.

I made an online reservation to limit the time I spend in the office/store. The person attending me must’ve been a new employee because he spent about 5 minutes looking for an existing reservation before he gave in and began a new one. I had already paid for my first month (aside from the free one) & all I needed was the key to the storage unit. He spent another 10-15 minutes on this before he tried searching for my reservation again. This time, he found it. He gave me my key, provided me with my receipt, & we went straight to the unit. Unit had dirt and small debris & when I asked if it could be cleaned out the employee said, that’s how they are. Also, the address on all my paperwork is wrong. I provided my address about 4 times & it somehow wasn’t recorded correctly. I called the office after this & spoke with the same guy. He said he’d correct it & update it online. So far, it hasn’t been. I’ve worked with U-Haul for years - this is the crappiest customer service I’ve experienced. Ever.arely h. | First Impressions

Truck did very bad on gas mileage, advertised as about 10 miles to the gallon but didn't even come close to that. Also truck had something wrong with the transmission, didn't want to shift our of lower gears for quite some time. Employees are too slow and do not listen to customers .. the gentlemen outside receiving my truck never mentioned my truck was dirty and said we were all set and ended up charging $25 of cleaning service afterwards. Super slow service ! After I cleaned it I told the gentlemen outside that I was done cleaning it and ignored me twice!
