Be a little more customer focused. I approached an employee in the yard at checkout to ask a question and they acted like I was bothering them. At checkin I also overheard an employee being downright rude to a customer. And the property here isn't very user friendly. There are so many rental units on the property that customers have no place to park. I had my wife pick me up a block away just to avoid the gridlock.Daniel T.

Get your mileage documented correctly. I checked my entire route I drove the U-Haul truck for when I rented it with GPS and it was 15 miles, and when I returned it the employee said I drove it 54 miles! There is no way that's even close to being correct, it's impossible... that's why I checked with GPS afterwards. Overcharged by almost 40 miles. And on top of that the vehicle didn't even have a working air conditioning and it's summer and we're located in Bakersfield... that should be illegal.Ryan W.

Staff did not know about the online check in. I was checking in on line and was at the point to find the truck, but was unable to locate. Asked a staff member where the truck was and he told me I had to go inside. It was a waste of my time to do it on line if I had to go inside and stand in line for 20 minutes.Darrel H.
Every time I tried to return the vehicle and I put the right miles and gas online it wouldn't let me continue and so I had to just drop off the key and leave the haul in the parking spot without finishing the return serviceâ€¦I was charged $12 for thatâ€¦.so I would suggest maybe another way (easier way) to return the vehicle because I also called the customer support since it wasn't letting me continue and they were no help at all.Rocio M.

We dropped off truck after hours. When we did online checkout, I was told I would be billed fuel to the tune of $127.73. I disagreed because when we picked up truck in Fresno there was NO GAS. We put $80 in it at a Valero station before leaving Fresno. We returned the truck with MORE gas than when we picked it up!!DWIGHT C.

I had an issue using the app when returning. The truck was full, but I was charged for fuel. I may have incorrectly stated that the vehicle was not full. I sent a message to to the location through the app, but I was still charged for the fuel. I also didn't use the entire 100 miles I estimated. Receiving contracts via email was great, but I didn't receive anything to verify the final charges at check-in.Johnny C.

Nichole was such a joy to work with! She set me up with a storage room, a trailer hitch install and a truck rental in just minutes. AND answered all of my gazillion questions and was still very nice! The storage room was SO CLEAN and looked as if it's brand new. It was a nice surprise to find a little "welcome" bag with a lock, a to-go coffee cup and a pen! I moved to a different storage after my roll up unit was BASHED -IN and forcefully PRIED open with lock intact. The thieves took a LOT. At the time 12/18/20 there were NO known CAMERAS viewing the storage units area. No one appears to actually occupy the front apartment-looking structure and there were often questionable persons of no apparent means wandering freely up and down among the storage unit rows I think some are living in storage units. I believe with the rental of vehicles and sales of supplies kept staff from proper monitoring of the storage units. I have chosen a new facility that does one thing; just rents out storages units. I was pressured to purchase renters insurance upon getting this unit in Jun/July 2020, insurance which is now asking for receipts of my stolen items and since I barely have any and clearly this insurance maybe wasn't right for me I do believe such stipulation should have been pointed out as clearly as the pressure to buy it was. I am glad to see that many new cameras and high tech are finally being installed at the facility. I will use U-Haul again but I certainly would rent another unit only with great caution. My unit was tampered with once and broke into the once. When they broke in, they totally ransacked everything. They were not able to get anything on camera because my unit was in a "blind spot". There insurance did not cover anything because the they stated that I provided proof of insurance. I did not have my own insurance. There was also some female living in one of the units at the time. They gave me 3 months free rent but after two months they began to charge me again. I was moved into a new unit that was by a camera.
