They gave me a call thinking I did not return the truck Key when i dropped it in the drop box which they fail to check the cameras before calling then informing me that the truck battery was dead like it was my problem. I got it there and back so its not necessarily my problem then they been holding my deposit for a week and giving me the wrong amount that i was supposed to be paying for.

I called to make an appointment for the Uhaul location on Gate City Blvd the day before picking up the trailer, giving my credit card information, name, and phone number, but when I arrived (granted there are two locations on that street) they had no record that I had an appointment at that or the other location. Not even one that had been canceled. They were still able to supply us with the trailer I needed and the staff member helping us said he had just serviced this particular one. Before leaving the lot, we inspected the trailer to make sure all the lights were working and the tires were full of air. The lights worked just fine but one of the tires were flat and none of the tires on the trailer were at the specified PSI. We pointed this out and the one who claimed to have serviced it said he didn't know how that happened but they did pump up the tires for us and the one that was flat did not seem to be losing air any faster than the others. So the experience was fine overall, just not above average.

The problems I had were all related to location changes. I made my reservation at a particular location. I was notified the night before that the pickup location had changed to a place about 15 miles further away. When I arrived to pick up my truck at that location, they didn't have me in the system. After some discussion, we realized it had been moved back to the original pickup location without any notification to me. Before leaving to go there, I asked the manager of the store I was at (911 W Gate) to call over and make sure they actually had a truck for me. I'm glad I asked her to, because they didn't. The manager of 911 W Gate City Blvd. was able to put me back in their system and get me a truck. She was incredible helpful with this messy situation. U-Haul offered no compensation for the extra miles and frustration.

We returned the trailer the night before it was due back, but I had to get up the next morning and go to the business because after trying to complete the return online, the website wouldn't let me go any further or submit picture of trailer. So, in order not to be charged for another day, I had to physically be there to make sure the return was properly documented.

Why did the system try to charge me twice? I paid 40.33 at pickup which included 19.99 plus estimated 20 miles. At drop-off it said 61.94 was due instead of only 21.61 for the additional 27 miles.

It looked like someone spilled a sticky beverage all inside the cab (in the seat, on the window and on the drink holders). When I went to load the back of the truck, it was so sticky that my feet were literally getting stuck to the ground. I had to buy covers to protect my furniture from whatever it was. I told the clerk at UHaul when I returned the truck, but he offered no compensation or apology. Just said he would make sure it was clean for the next person.

The original location on Church Street that uhaul assigned never opened. We had a 9:00 am pickup. Trucks were on-site but no personnel present and office was locked. We left and came one hour later and still no one was present.

I was told that, after complications with picking up my rental, if I returned the van the evening of the next day I would only be charged for one day (it was about 26 hours). I was charged for two days anyway. Other than the empty promise/ oversight, all was good.

Since you take pictures of drivers driver's license, it would be very helpful if you stated what happens to that info after a rental and how you safe guard it from identity theft. I know you do protect all your customer data as a part of your business, but you can imagine my concern when the rep took out his phone and photographed my license without an explanation. Unfortunately I hadn't used your services since this procedure started. I later saw that the reason for this was clearly posted in the store when I returned the rental. But it is not posted how this info is protected and discarded after the rental is returned.

The truck I rented was dirty on the inside of the rear area from the precious rental. I had to clean it before I was able to put my items in. Also I was given the truck with only 2.5 gallons of fuel per the truck mileage sensor. The least the location could have done was put a 1/4 of a tank of fuel in for the rental. Not happy with my experience at this location.

Some extra charges on my final bill.. there was extra fuel in the truck and the pull knob for the lights was broken. I'm still waiting to find my final bill that explains the extra $12 on the total charge to my card. Also I made a reservation online which was absolutely useless. Your online algorithms are slimy crooks.

I been getting charged for a storage I never used the seal is still on the unit I never broke it because I didn't like how the storage building look and it wasn't secured. I felt like my stuff wouldn't be taken care of in that storage facilities for it to be a climate control unit. Everytime I try to go to store to turn in key card it's always a long wait and the gentleman wouldn't just let us drop off the key card so my card been getting auto charged monthly $49.99 which I found out they from customer service that shouldn't been happening if they walked their units and saw I never took off there ziptie and never put my personal lock on. I will try and turn in key card again next week but I most definitely wouldn't recommend this climate control unit.

Arrived to turn my truck in at 8:30 am. Storage manager wasn't available or anyone who access to let me get my unit I reserved the evening prior. I was told to hold on to truck until I get a call back and that was at 10:45 almost 11:00. I missed important business meetings that day and damage had already been done to me. I would like to be compensated.

When I first moved in, I had to drive laps around the building to try to find where to unload my trailer because the directions from the front office were so poor. It wasn't until I found someone working in the back that I had better instructions and was shown how to access my unit. I was also told that I had to have the lock that U-Haul sold but saw several units with different locks, which meant I was clearly lied to. There were several times my access card failed to open the door, despite following the proper steps. The "loading dock" door routinely failed to close, leaving the facility unsecured. Items such as carts and the ladder (which was not easily moveable) were routinely left in the hallway, making it difficult to get to my unit without risking injury. When I'd ask the staff for assistance, I'd be met with an attitude like I was an inconvenience. Overall, the services I received was a ripoff for the price I was paying. I'd sell/donate everything I own before I stored with U-Haul again.

We had a good experience with you all up until we moved our things from your facility. We moved out in January 2021 even rented a truck from you all to do so. We have received text messages, emails and phone calls until March about late payments on the storage. I even called to talk to someone to tell them that we were no longer there and they said something was wrong with their system and it kept contacting old customers and he would fix the issue. Spoke with someone else and told her that we had been long gone, she informed me that we couldn't have moved out the correct way because they didn't have record of it, even though we rented the truck from them to move the stuff. They kept asking was the unit empty and was the lock gone. Of course both of those things had happened, but why didn't they know that and they work there. Needless to say I will never rent a space from this facility, way to much confusion once you have moved.

The front desk associate got be lost trying to find my locker and acted shocked when I had a free month because of my trailer rental even though I showed her the reservation email and pulled up with it. She also didn't explain how to access the facility to get to my locker. The one working the yard was more helpful.

The gate never worked properly. The card i used to swipe didn't always work. The clerks behaved as though someone was interrupting their nap when I walked in to ask for assistance. Not friendly at all. Uhaul should prorate. I moved out the same day I was charged for a full month of renting.

I expected more from U-Haul. The upper lever units are terrible to store heavy furniture as it is only a unit on top of another like a high locker. It was after the fact that I was informed that these lockers are mostly meant for college students with limited belongings. I barely got 1 bedroom set in the lower unit minus the mattress set. I was very disappointed. The only reason I gave the second star is due to the help staff. I would not recommend this particular site for storage for houses.
