My experience with UHaul was not good on this rental. I could not get moving pads after being sent two places out of my way then, the location I originally wanted to pick up the truck, but was told they had no trucks, had several when I was sent there for pads. The location operator said he'd had plenty of trucks â€œfor daysâ€ and he was mad too. Pretty much lousy experience with the Reservation and 1-800 Service Center.DAVID D.

Spencer the manager was fantastic he went above and beyond because our trailer hitch wire we had installed didn't work but he took time and helped us find problem and let us use tools to fix it ourselves because he was to busy otherwise he said he would haveScott R.

Jack (I didn't get his last name) at the counter addressed all of my issues, including the insistance of the UHaul rep on the "chat" site at uhaul.com that I had to pay an additional day's rental due to a late return which I fully explained. Jack has either been trained to help resolve customer service issues, or took it upon himself to do so - but either way his service saved me as a repeat UHaul customer.Paul B.

The guy who rented us the uhaul scammed me. When we got the uhaul it had less then half a tank of gas, he said 6/8. I only drove 6 miles. I put 5 dollars of gas in at the gas station then got changed for 4 gallons of gas, how is it even possible to use 4 gallons of gas for 6 milesRichard S.

I was given a second floor storage unit with no elevator access. Had I known this prior to moving in, I would have found a different storage unit somewhere that didn't force me to carry my items up a flight or stairs. This store is really busy and really understaffed. There is always a long line and it takes too long for each transaction to occur. If you have a question and call the store you will be on hold for at least 30 - 45 minutes. I had an old and valuable antique oriental rug in storage. I recently moved into a larger dwelling and when I unrolled the rug there were larvae all over and a great deal of the rug was damaged, possibly destroyed. This was a family heirloom that apart from monetary value, had great sentimental value to me. I'm heartbroken this beautiful reminder of the home I grew up in and 3 subsequent homes of my own is so damaged. I've never seen a single instance of this during my 25 plus years of owning and using this beautiful piece in my home. I'm greatly upset about this and heartbroken.Thomas P. | Overall Experience
There was a reservation error. The centralized reservation system gave me lockers that didn’t exist at this location . I had a lot of stuff. The Tropicana staff worked fabulously with me during a very stressful time and gave me everything they had for space. The manager, James Beck, made things very reasonable in terms of cost adjustment. After being a loyal customer for nearly two years they decided to increase my rate, even though they still advertise and offer the same rate to people who are currently signing up. So they basically try to squeeze more money out of customers who have been there a long time, but continue to offer the same size unit to new customers for the price I had paid all along. I guess they are banking on customers being too lazy to move out. I called and left a message asking to discuss the issue with management and he never even took the time to return my call. Apparently U-haul is more interested in short-term profit than brand/customer loyalty. I found a very nice, brand new storage unit nearly twice the size (10x15) less than a mile away for basically the same price I had been paying U-haul. I may have no choice but to use the services of u-haul at some point in the future depending on where I am, but I can certainly tell you that it will never again be my first choice. I will shop around and likely pay more for a competitor's services if they are available before I ever resort to using U-haul again because I don't want to support a business whose business model is designed to "reward" customer loyalty with predatory practices.joshua m. | Overall Experience

We received two one month rentals after moving to the area but were told that we could only use one of those months because the first month would make us a customer voiding the second month. After finally agreeing to use one month we went after store hours to pick up some items from our storage only to find that there was a staff lock on our door with a sticker stating we were being locked out of our unit due to failure to pay. This was only 2 weeks after setting up everything with the one month free! When the staff put that lock on they put a second sticker on our lock, stating that it was an invalid lock yet it was the same style lock that the staff used to lock us out. At no point during any of this were we informed that the lock used to secure our belongings had to meet specific criteria. We were also never informed that we had been locked out of our belongings unit arriving after hours only to find we couldn't get in. As a result we were forced to make a last minute scramble to empty our belongings from the unit before the month ended.Carrie H. | Overall Experience
We have that unit for approximately seven years and never had any significant problems. We needed to downsize and there was not a smaller unit available at this facility so we had to go elsewhere. The only other issue that ever came up was I was in the hallway on the first floor just asked the office and sometimes they would have deliveries that were stored in someone blocking my entrance but the staff will always take care of it for me.ANDREW H. | Overall Experience
