I only ended up using one of the two boxes I had reserved and it was the biggest hassle trying to get the second one off my contract. I initially informed an employee that I didn't need the box when I finished and she said she took it off and issued my refund. Come to find out next week it was not done properly and someone else went ahead and gave me my refund. A month later the box somehow appeared on my contract again and I spent a week calling and talking to different people trying to get everything sorted out. I'm not sure why it took so long and so much of my time calling and contacting people to get something so simple sorted out that should've been done correctly in the first place.Maria R.

When I was there someone reported and oil light on the truck they received. As soon as I got my truck an oil light came on. The agent that was assisting me had conversations with customers that were previously there so she did not give me the instructions properly for my storage unit.Terri G.

The truck I was given to use was not in a condition I'm used to from Uhaul. All the air vents were broken, the seat was not that great has well. I almost brought it back when I looked at the tires because they were old and not much tread. I've been using Uhaul for years and I will continue but next time I'll check the truck better and If it's up to the standard I'll ask for a different truckAnthony R.

Let employees know to check fuel level carefully because when I pickup the truck the fuel level was little net less then 3/4 but on paper it was total 3/4 marked, and when I drop the truck back I left let bit less then 3/4 and I got charged for it . This thing happened because truck are parked at fareway and employe had to bring truck for, engines of those truck are big and easy fuel level goes down.kanwalpreetsingh P.

The UHaul reps at this location were friendly and helpful, the facility was very neat and clean, as was the equipment. (I do NOT like UHaul's dependence on making customers do everything on-line via a cell phone. And I didn't like being routed to a central call center when I called this location's number.)John W.
When we tried to check in the storage unit, the unit we were given had a lot of stuff in it. The access card didn't work and set off the alarm. We were given an actual empty unit that was ready for move-in after an hour or so wait. The whole process took about two hours. It was very inefficient. The staff did their best to be friendly but they were obviously overwhelmed with limited staffing at the counter.Parth J. | Overall Experience
Would warn them to allow extra time when picking up. Only 1 or maybe 2 people at the counter processing everyone. Once making your way to the counter, the person is working 2 or 3 renters in parallel plus answering the phone during the rental processing. Came close to closing because another location didn't provide the supplies I ordered and paid for. Got inside with 3 other customers waiting around just to realize that there was not a single employee anywhere to be find. Finally a woman went outside searching for someone, the employee apologized saying her coworker was supposed to be inside. The other coworker comes inside, turns all of the lights off on us and locks the front door. Said coworker then looks at the line of people that have been neglected, at this point I had been there for 15 minutes so I can't imagine how long the others were there for. She looks at the time and says out loud for everyone to hear in a very snotty tone â€œI'd like to get out of here within the next hourâ€. She takes a woman in line, gets her taken care of. The woman goes to leave the front door, but remind youâ€¦ the employee had locked it. The woman says loudly â€œcan I get out of this door?â€ Of course the employee ignores her so I say since I am in line in front of her desk â€œis she able to get out the front?â€ employee looks at me disgusted and says very rudely â€œwhat????â€ I said â€œis the front door unlocked for her to leave?â€ employee then says â€œjust go out this side door?????â€ â€¦. The side doorâ€¦ for employeesâ€¦ that we are unaware of to leave out of because it is not our entrance. The employee takes care of the other 2 people in front of me and by this point it is almost 6 I believe, I had gotten my truck from another location at 4:30 so I had lost pretty much 2 hours of my time which I had to then extend and pay for way more time than expected. Please improve your check-in. I checked in late just before closing. Only one person at desk and the gentleman that were supposed to check me in took FOREVER TO DO SO!! They were very SLOW. After check-in the young lady gave me my receipt. Picking up the rental was no issue.Raymond A.
We live in Mint Hill. There are several Uhaul locations very close to our home. I made the reservation at the Albermarle Road location. We were sent a very long way from our home to Boxmeer Dr Location. Just didn't seem like that made sense. Windows and side mirrors were very dirty. I have to clean them myself before we left for Greenville NC. Staff at both locations didn't seem like they were at all happy to be there. The drop off in Greenville wasn't a very good place or area. We past a pretty nice u haul location but went to the one on the email. They at first weren't sure they could even give me my $100 deposits back. In the end they did. My daughter drove back to school with my team to help her move items out of the storage and into her college dorm. There was a double lock on the unit for nonpayment, but the storage had been paid every month and was current. We couldn't get into the unit at 10am when they arrived because nobody was available to remove the second lock y'all had left there and never removed. They had to wait until close to 1pm, which means it was a 3 hour set back and made my daughter move in lat me into her dorm, had my team late coming back to Atlanta, and cost us money. I requested a location that no longer had trailers and I suppose the system just transfered the request to another facility. Luckily I noticed it before going to the one I requesred. That was the only hiccup, the price was right, they hooked up the trailer, I love the option of dropping it off and taking pictures to confirm the drop-off, nice feature. I did not do that, I just waited till the morning and turned it in, in less than 10 minutes I was out of there. Good experience.Bruce W.

Shanay at the Uhaul Traffic Department is so unprofessional and so unethical she should not be working for Uhaul. I reserved 6x12 Cargo Trailer to be picked up on Broadway in Newark, NJ. Shanay sent me to pick up the trailer in Kenvil, NJ which is about 1 hour plus from my location. When I complained about the distance, she lied that my reservation was last minute, when in fact I made the reservation about a month ion advance. When I called her out on her lies, she tried to offer me $50 for the inconvenience, but I told her I needed more that $50 given the cost of gas, tolls and mileage I had to put on my car. She gave me the name of one Ms. Roberts a sher supervisor who could authorize for me to get more than $50. I called more that 15X to speak to Ms. Roberts and she was always either not at her desk or not in the office. I left several messages for Ms. Roberts and my phone #, but Ms. Roberts never called me back. Shanay finally called me and told me that there are many Ms. Roberts in the office who are all supervisors. I said to Shanay that she gave me the name of Ms. Roberts and she should know which of the Ms. Roberts she intended when she gave me the name. She then tried to transfer to someone else in the office she claimed was a supervisor but not on duty that day. I refused and insisted that I speak with a supervisor/manager on duty and she told me she was the supervisor on duty. I got frustrated at this point and used cuss words and Shanay hung up on me. I still need compensation of more than $50 and Shanay does not need to be working for Uhaul as she is unprofessional, unethical and a liability who can expose the company to legal issues. The initial staff member assisting me was unable to find my reservation and even struggled to enter payment information. A more competent staff member had to take over the transaction. Additionally, the loading zone is massive but there were no carts to make loading more efficient. When asked about this, the initially helpful staff member said to "search the complex, there are lots of carts." Despite the fact that the statement itself screams poor customer service, it was also a lie. I searched the whole space and the only carts available were mattress carts. I had a reserved a 10x10 storage area three weeks ago and called 5 days before the start date to confirm the availability. However after driving for 3 days from NYC to Charlotte in a one way U-Haul rental, I was told upon arrival that no 10x10 storage was available. The manager was able to find a 10x15 so it worked out but I was disappointed that a confirmed reservation could not be honored. The storage unit was not advertised correctly. The 5x5x10 and the 5x10x10 are priced exactly the same and the photos of both listings show a 5x10x10 unit. So as this being my first time renting a unit I assumed they were the same. They were not and I needed a 5x10x10 unit. The girl was very helpful in cancelling my unit since the size I actually needed was not available. The customer service was great! I was not happy once I got to the storage room. It was to far around the back for me, then it was too far from the entrance. But to top that off, when I opened the storage room (1310) it had a black box (rodent catcher) inside of it. That was my biggest problem with my storage room. I can't do rodents at all. I was told it is required in the state of NC for all storages to have; but not true because I have a current storage rental that do not have the black box. The employee told me it was not for rats, it was for the bugs that would come from another unit. Although Alicia was pleasant, I had a storage unit(1901) at this location for about almost 3 years. Somehow my lock got cut off my storage unit door and a green tag was put on the door of my unit and per the system, I had moved out the unit. Which I didn't move my stuff. During my tenure, the management changed hands and during that time my storage space got infested and my insurance claim was rejected for my loss. A few months later the management did repair the issues of my space and did allot me time to retrieve my items. While my bill was comp'd, I still got phone calls and emails for bill payment. I ignore them, but it is so annoying . The time frames and communication, and maintenance were not professional, but the attendants were very nice about it. I am grateful for what I could retain, but due to the amount of infestation, I did not trust the idea of nests inside of my electrical equipment and was still rendered a major loss from my perspective .Marlena S. | Overall Experience

The staff at Charlotte location were unfriendly and did not want to help at all even the call center or whoever they transferred to was unfriendly. they didn't leave a loading dolly and packing pads which we ordered and paid for anyways before I left a comment called and talked but no help there either. I can go on and on but what's the point. Didn't get my money back. The third party loaders they were the worst they took 6 hours for a 2 bed room. The foremen said don't tell my boss just pay us directly, very unprofessional, I understand they get paid by the hour but this is not the right way. Never had such bad experience. left a bad taste. I turned in an online move out on the 13th of October due to no one being at the front desk when we stopped by on the way off site. On the 24th of October, I am receiving emails regarding my bill... I was told walk thru's were to be completed on the property daily; which clearly isn't happening or I wouldn't have received an email reminding me of a bill. I have never been treated so bad in my life as a customer until now from Cindy Madison in the Statesville store on Boxmeer dr charlotte nc . The regional manager name Buck was so bad saod that he was calling the police if o called with a question as to why he kept cancelling my reservations. These folks wete aweful and they repesent a brand that we all use UHAUL!!
