This comment is not directed towards the local staff and facilities. When they tell you online that you're getting a free months storage it sounds great. I drove 14 hrs and 706 miles only to find out i had an above ground unit accessible only by rolling stairs. How do you carry dressers and other large items up rolling stairs. I recommend shutting down not only this store but every U-Haul store in the country and around the world. An absolutely terrible experience that I cannot rate poorly enough. If possible, I would leave zero stars, no negative stars. That is how god awful the service was. While the people at the store were not helpful, the U-Haul corporate service was easily the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, constantly giving me incorrect information and making my move an absolute hell. I will never use U-Haul ever again. Despite my hatred for politics, this experience was bad enough to make me want to run for a US Senate seat just so I can place regulations on this terrible corporation and put them out of business. I would rather leave my stuff in the middle of the interstate than take it to U-Haul ever again. Penske will take care of my moving services from now on. I have constantly asked for a refund and, surprise surprise, your customer service was again the shittiest I have ever received. I hope this corporation goes bankrupt and if many people have the experience I did, it won't take long for that to happen.Andrew R.

My fiance and I relocated from Alabama to New Mexico did a one way rental from Tuscaloosa alabama for a 6Ã—12 enclosed trailer staff was great on day of pick up even in the rain they changed a fuse on my truck so trailer lights would work really appreciate that great place to do business withALAN M.

Hello, We have used your facility for the past three years and have been happy up until this year. My son moved in after office hours and found a full bedroom set in his storage unit. The bedroom set is still in the unit and hopefully it will be inspected prior to someone else moving in, as it took away much of the storage space available to my son. He was leaving to return home early the next day, so he wasn't able to contact anyone prior to moving his things in to have the situation remedied. He also discovered a very large dead rodent dangling from the wire mesh on top of his unit. We have also always been given the first month (May) of storage rental for free, as my son is a college student. I contacted your establishment several times requesting reimbursement for the first month and was denied. I was very dissatisfied with my experience at this location. My son rented a trailer on Friday August 13,2021 and returned it 3 hours later. He returned it to the man outside who was cleaning the Uhaul's and he said that it was returned and that He did not need to do anything else. I got a call on Tuesday August 17,2021 that the trailer was not returned. My son returned it at 4:00 on Friday, he had 3 other people in the truck that were with him and heard the man tell him that it was returned. I called Uhaul on Tuesday after I got a voicemail about the late rental and told them what had happened. They told me that they would look into the situation and call me back. I received no phone call back at all. I got an invoice for $183.30 for a three hour rental. I called the location and the man who answered the phone did not even want to speak to me and was rude to me about the situation and transferred me to another number where I was on hold for 45 minutes! I finally talked with someone at Uhaul and filed a formal complaint. I refuse to pay the rental amount if 183.30 for a three hour rental. I will never use this location ever again and tell everyone to not use this location!!!!!WILLIAM C.

What’s not to like? As Yogi Berra once said, “nobody goes there any more; it’s too crowded.” Seriously, the only problem with this place is its popularity. The staff are helpful and friendly. It’s clean. Easily accessible. The automatic lighting always works. I set up the storage space rental on line in just a fee minutes at the end of my daughter’s freshman year at Bama. She moved her stuff in. The 24-hour access always worked. When it came time to move her stuff out, there were adequate carts and access. All her belongings were clean and intact. I pulled up to the location only to have to wait in the truck on the street for about 15 minutes. Then a uhaul representative came out and said to just leave the truck where it was and that was it. Not friendly at all seemed very overwhelmed/ frustrated.Seth W.

Truck was due back 8/8 at 4pm. Returned truck 8/7 at noon. Finally found someone to assist. Was given directions as to where/how to leave rental truck. Left truck where I was instructed by staff. Returned clean, swept, with neatly folded blankets in the back along with more fuel than was required. Received a call at 5pm on 8/8 asking when I was going to return truck. Explained truck was returned on 8/7. They eventually located truck and stated â€œsomeone didn't do their job.â€ On 8/9 I looked at online credit card info and had been charged twice ($62.71 x 2) for late fee and 18 extra miles. Called return location to question charges. They said they would issue credit. One charge was removed but the other still has not been removed. Have now filed dispute with credit card company. This is my fourth and final time to ever rent from Uhaul. Each time has been a progressively worse experience. The level of apathy and incompetence displayed by Uhaul local staff and corporate customer service is unbelievable. I will glad pay professional movers in the future to save the headache and hassle of dealing with Uhaul.Douglas H.

The vehicle's a/c was not working. By the hot part of the day and load being picked up, it was to late to fix the situation. So, we suffered through two 90F days. This is the third time I have reached out to you to correct this error on your part. I returned this trailer on Monday 8/2 at 4:00 (I can send you a pic of the trailer sitting on your lot with the date/time stamp). Spoke with your lot attendant who told where to back the trailer then assisted with disconnecting. He then told me I was good to go and would get a bill in email. On Tuesday I saw that the order still showed as active and had not been closed. Since then I have emailed and called twice. On Wednesday 8/4 I spent over an hour on hold and was told the second charge of $57.12 would be reversed. Nothing has happened yet so I guess I'll just dispute the charge with the credit card company. Terrible customer service on this one from start to finish. Disappointing considering the number of times I have rented from UHaul. At a loss on how to get you folks to resolve this!!Troy H.

It is not my responsibility to move the trailer to another drop location because this place didn't have room for it. I set it up to have this trailer delivered here once we were done with it and my son was told that he had to take it elsewhere to drop it off. Luckily I wasn't with him or the trailer would of been dropped at the designated contract spot. We had other important things to do that day and shuttling a U-Haul trailer 20 minutes away was not in the plans! It is not the customer's responsibility to do that.Shane B.

The check-in process not using the app was slow. There were not enough workers. People were waiting around 20-30 minutes just to get trucks they had a reservation to pick up.Brandon H.
Tires were bald on the Van we rented. Customer service was slow, unprofessional, and impolite. Employee was eating food while handling our paperwork when we were picking up the keys to our van. Then when returning the van the next day, we had to wait 1 1/2 hours in line to return the keys. Additionally, we were paying with a gift card that my sister had given us. This storage unit was supposed to be climate controlled but this was not the case as there was obviously some kind of leak (because there wasn’t a proper ceiling above the unit) causing water damage and mold to form on all of my furniture within the short time I had it stored here. The storage facility had to know about this because all the wood around my unit was also ruined, but they never notified me of such and I only found out as I was moving out. There was also a rat problem in the facility and I was again not informed of this; the staff’s response was to drop a rat trap into the unit from above (since there’s not a ceiling) which cracked a piece of my furniture. There were rat droppings throughout the unit. Because of the poor conditions of the unit/facility, I had to throw out everything since it was ruined- such a waste of money. Moreover, I could never reach the facility on the phone. Lastly, the majority of the storage units are off the ground level and can only be accessed by a set of wheeling stairs- such a hassle to move stuff in/out of. The facility and units are the perfect example of false advertising. The location itself was disgusting. No lock was included in my unit as it should have been. A two story storage facility, more like bunk bed storage units. I was also told mine would be ground level, it’s in the air. The entire time we had the unit, the door was severely damaged that we needed a pry bar to open it. We were promise the door would be replaced but never was. I asked for a discount rate on the unit but my request never was acted on. So with that said my experience was a disaster. My only complaint is that we were charged when it was supposed to be free for a month. After I brought this to the staffs attention it was reimbursed. However, we were locked out of our unit for nonpayment. The problem was corrected by the manager. This complaint is being posted so you know if you have a problem just talk to the staff.
