I called U-Haul multiple times before I actually got the help I needed. I drove hours trying to get a U-Haul because everybody sent me somewhere where there was no U-Hauls available! The lady that helped me on the phone was in Washington mrs Vicki or nicki something like that I appreciate her cause she made it happen for me the following week. Another thing I don't understand why I was charged $66 dollars for gas when i got it on a full tank and I returned it with over a half a tank I don't understand! This is the first time I've had this many problems with U-Haul and I'm disappointed about it can't lie.CARLTON M.

Check tire pressures and make sure the equipment is set up for safe rental. The Uhaul associate was very helpful in resolving the issue, but I think this should have been addressed on its own instead of being brought to attention by me. Additionally, it is frustrating to be able to reserve rental supplies (blankets and dolly) to be told that they are not available. Luckily there were just enough for me to complete the move but I wouldn't have had a lot of time to correct the issue myself and almost put me in a tough spot.Robert S.

Nothing but an Awesome experience. From the time I picked up the Uhaul the young lady I think Monica extended Great customer service. When I returned the Uhaul the Gm Mr Tony went above and beyond with assisting me a storage unit at the site. Due to an overload of trucks parked he assisted again by backing the Uhaul closer to building to allow my sons an easier unloading experience. Once we completed the unloading, I again was welcomed by an Awesome check out with staff Mr Kenneth. Great customer service I received from this location. Windshield wiper was broken. I told young employee about it and he just shrugged his shoulders and said â€œI can't fix itâ€. I went out and fixed it myself (in the rain). I ordered 2 dozen moving blankets. When we began packaging realized I was only given 19. Also, I rented a 20 foot truck and was given a 26 foot vehicle. Much more difficult to drive and maneuver. The software your guys use is very slow or the people are not trained to used. It took 1 and a half hour to pick the truck and the person in the store was exhausted to be working by himself. The return process was much better.Diana P G.

The worker didn't want to rent me a trailer that was available. I had to call 1-800-GOU-HAUL and they forced him to rent me the trailer. He was mean, rude, and acted like he didn't want to be there. He literally began falling asleep while he was finishing my paperwork. When I returned the trailer, I was asked to unhook it myself. I'm 34 years old, and this was, by far, the worst customer service I've ever experienced.MARSHALL W.
While the equipment was clean (I only needed to use a van), the picking-up/returning process could improve. The agent received the van upon return was on a personal phone call all the time while checking the condition of the van, so it was confusing if he was addressing me or the other people on his phone call. As I needed a printed receipt, I had to wait for a rather long time for the receipt to be sent to the office, and the attendants at the office were curt, terse and I got the impression I was bothering them. I felt my business was not appreciated. Will look around in the area for other vendors before renting again.Ignacio R.

Last time I use u-haul. Had the truck for less than 24 hours. Uhaul messed up my reservation. Then I was charged more than $400 for one day. Never again. I'm absolutely livid and will post negative reviews everywhere I can to help others avoid the scam.James R.

I originally rented this vehicle for 2 days and ended up paying for 3 days because I had it about 6 hours past return time. I couldn't figure out why that time couldn't be pro rated, doesn't seem fair. Also upon returning the vehicle I have learned that I was charged for 7 gallons of gas when I stop and filled it just before the half mark just as it was when I received it. I don't know if the individual that read the gauge made a mistake or just didn't know how to read it properly, but I was charged like 37.00 bucks extra for that on top of the gas I had already put in it upon return. I am very unsatisfied with they way I was charged overall for this rental and for any future need I will have to consider alternatives. I was happy renting from you guys up till this rental and I am very disappointed and will be certain to warn others about renting from you guys. especially that locationJOHN T.
I came in originally for a cargo van, but the van was unavailable and then I was set for a 10 ft truck. I was late for my pickup time and tried to call three times but no one answered- even the call center. By the time I got there I was given a 17 ft truck and was obviously frustrated. BUT!! Let me tell you, the general manager and his partner that helped him, I believe his name was Benton (but I could be so wrong) made the process so seamless. They are genuinely good guys, and he knew I was frustrated and I know they had been busy, but they both continued to help me with a smile on their face. I left with my 17ft truck, and was still very happy because the two gentleman truly did what they could, and at the end of the day I still had a truck for my needs. It is hard to find good customer service in Tuscaloosa, Alabama- and we are so, so lucky to have this team in our area. Thank you guys!!!BENTLEY A.

From beginning to end worst experience I have ever had. If the first month had not been free and I had been able to find something elsewhere I would have been done!! Rented a truck online with mobile check in that did not work. A representative who lied about procedures, costing me valuable time, so much so that I almost had to extend my truck rental, wrong size unit reserved, then unavailable unit reserved, then wrong size unit reserved again and then finally the found a unit that I had to make work. Rushed to throw everything in the unit, so I did not have time to replace the 4 gallons of gas used to then be charged $5/per gallon. When the current price is $2.88/per gallon. On and then my reserved unit went from $89.99 climate controlled to $109.00 not climate controlled. I'm done. Hello, We have used your facility for the past three years and have been happy up until this year. My son moved in after office hours and found a full bedroom set in his storage unit. The bedroom set is still in the unit and hopefully it will be inspected prior to someone else moving in, as it took away much of the storage space available to my son. He was leaving to return home early the next day, so he wasn't able to contact anyone prior to moving his things in to have the situation remedied. He also discovered a very large dead rodent dangling from the wire mesh on top of his unit. We have also always been given the first month (May) of storage rental for free, as my son is a college student. I contacted your establishment several times requesting reimbursement for the first month and was denied. What's not to like? As Yogi Berra once said, "nobody goes there any more; it's too crowded." Seriously, the only problem with this place is its popularity. The staff are helpful and friendly. It's clean. Easily accessible. The automatic lighting always works. I set up the storage space rental on line in just a fee minutes at the end of my daughter's freshman year at Bama. She moved her stuff in. The 24-hour access always worked. When it came time to move her stuff out, there were adequate carts and access. All her belongings were clean and intact. This storage unit was supposed to be climate controlled but this was not the case as there was obviously some kind of leak (because there wasn't a proper ceiling above the unit) causing water damage and mold to form on all of my furniture within the short time I had it stored here. The storage facility had to know about this because all the wood around my unit was also ruined, but they never notified me of such and I only found out as I was moving out. There was also a rat problem in the facility and I was again not informed of this; the staff's response was to drop a rat trap into the unit from above (since there's not a ceiling) which cracked a piece of my furniture. There were rat droppings throughout the unit. Because of the poor conditions of the unit/facility, I had to throw out everything since it was ruined- such a waste of money. Moreover, I could never reach the facility on the phone. Lastly, the majority of the storage units are off the ground level and can only be accessed by a set of wheeling stairs- such a hassle to move stuff in/out of. Customer service was terrible. An employee literally looked at me and said "what do you want" while waiting in line. The lack of professionalism was laughable. The facility and units are the perfect example of false advertising. The location itself was disgusting. No lock was included in my unit as it should have been. A two story storage facility, more like bunk bed storage units. I was also told mine would be ground level, it's in the air. The entire time we had the unit, the door was severely damaged that we needed a pry bar to open it. We were promise the door would be replaced but never was. I asked for a discount rate on the unit but my request never was acted on. So with that said my experience was a disaster. My only complaint is that we were charged when it was supposed to be free for a month. After I brought this to the staffs attention it was reimbursed. However, we were locked out of our unit for nonpayment. The problem was corrected by the manager. This complaint is being posted so you know if you have a problem just talk to the staff. I am deeply disappointed and appalled by the treatment and lack of customer service by your staff at the Skyland location. The employee was snippy and very short with me throughout my checkin process and was extremely bothered that she had to show me and my son how to get to the available units so we could see which unit to rent. We had to trample through a repair garage with tools, boxes, fans and crap all over as well as a car the repair guy was working on. It wasn't until the very end of the process, when I was paying for the unit, I had asked for her name, which she hesitated in answering that she decided to be nice. I am in the customer service business and I would never treat a customer the way she treated me and this transaction.
