When we rented the truck the sales rep said we could buy the insurance for the the vehicle, for $38 dollars he made it sound like it was a one Fee of 38 dollars it was not they charged 38 dollars a day for insurance which is bullshit then when we called to dispute it . we were told we should of reviewed our contract, should not need to if there personal were up front and honest. We were also told that it was a commercial vehicle but you do not need a commercial license to drive it again bullshit 26k lbs and under is considered non commercial. Never again will I recommend U-haul and I will tell 100 of my friends and I am sure they will tell there friends how DECEITFUL U-HAUL is . Have more staff working inside- every time, year after year, there's 1-2 working at most, and even the most simple transaction takes 30 mins to an hour- even when everything is pre booked, in the system, and ready to go. There will be 4+ people outside doing nothing, and yet inside a line of 12 people and 1 person working who's brand new, and 1 person with experience running around all over trying to take care of everything.Stephen C.

From the moment I was approved to pick up in New Hampshire at 7:15am I did not leave until 1:14pm the workers where amazing the experience dreadful! Then I get 15min out from broad brook Ct where I'm scheduled to drop of truck and equipment they then tell me turn around and go to Manchester Ct to which put more mileage and gas out my pocket I'm over it when I move illl question if I use they service I really the type of person that don't complain but this was dreadful!!!! The truck was clean, but needs major mechanical work. To keep the truck on the road the driver must hold the steering wheel a bit to the left. If the steering wheel is in the neutral position the truck veers to the right off the road. With the steering wheel held a bit to the left it blocks the driver's view of the speedometer.The steering is also loose requiring constant correction. This is fatiguing for the driver.James B.

Rude staff! Didn't have the truck or storage unit I needed. Was sent to a different location to find out for myself if they had a bigger storage unit, which after waiting in line another 45 minutes, found out they do not. I was accused of leaving trash at the location, and they would not give me a refund until she took her sweet time to watch the camera. Finally she came back and told the guy helping me that I could get a refund because the trash was left there the night before. The U-Haul associate behind the counter in your Manchester NH office on South Willow Street escalated a simple question I had by refusing to discuss, beyond her offering a cursory and wholly mechanical response which did not answer my question. She then proceeded to walk four or five desk away, along the same counter, which naturally resulted in my voice raising for her to hear me now with her situated literally across the width of the room...She then proceeds with the angry "don't raise your voice" routine. I finally did manage to speak with the manager via phone which was one of my two questions she refused to address initially. He was to call me today (Monday September 19th 2022.) As of this e-mail being typed and sent, no call has been received by me from him; nor had any paper work been presented for me to sign after the pick-up truck and trailer were returned approximately two hours after it was driven from the lot.carl A.

pick up process took more than half hour with a long line as there was only person doing the job. i wish UHaul rents something that can be used as a ramp because vans, pick up trucks and smaller trucks do not have a built in ramp for putting in heavy equipment such as lawn mowers etcSudhakar T.

Make sure to check you reservations. They ended up canceling my reservation and when I showed up to pick up the truck. Luckily they still have the 20", they reserved me for 6 hour only instead of the original 24hr. I returned it the same night after hours and was charged an additional day. They have yet to respond or refund. Renters, make sure you specify for 24hr even if you don't need it for 24hr so you have yourself covered.JIAN L.
Aside from the trainee who was nice and introduced herself as such, the two other ladies at the desk seemed more interested in reviewing procedures with each other while the one was "checking me in". It was to the point where one would interrupt the other just after she'd asked me a question and the second would engage in the new conversation and completely forget what question she had just asked me. This happened multiple times over the entire course of my check-in process. Then "you're all set" with no explanation of where to wait for the truck or anything else. Had to figure that out for myself. The only redeeming factor in my experience at this branch was the guy who checked me back in when I returned (young guy with a beard who said he just started working there a couple weeks ago). He was totally professional, quick, and very friendly.David B.

I had an excellent experience with U-Haul on So Willow St both with truck rental as well as storage rental. Kristen took care of us yesterday as we were renting a truck to empty our storage then returning both. She was Awesome!!! I had a reservation for 10am. This is a very possible time on weekends and there were only 2 agents on duty, one of whom was on the phone from the moment I walked in, for at least another 20 minutes. Have your representatives be a bit more professional, and going above and beyond for customers. Three times I interacted with this store and I had to wait while employees joked, played pranks, and worried about themselves before the customers. Please note that each time I had to interact with store there were more than 3 customers in the store. Get the customer service reps a raise. They work hard, deal with a high volume of customers and a LOT of crazy people. Every time I've come to this location, the staff is inundated with grumpy people trying to rent equipment, and the staff is always quick and courteous - whatever you're paying them, you should be paying them MORE. I had a reservation made two months before the date that I requested the vehicle and called a week in advance to ask if I would receive the vehicle. Then the day before I needed the vehicle the time of pick up and the location was changed on me. This was very inconvenient and led to me having to spend a lot more time and money. Last-minute changes to a reservation are not fair to the customer, I ask that you please do not do this to customers in the future.Daniel K.

This doesn't have to do with this location, but with Uhaul overall. I reserved a truck in July for an August pick and I chose a location in my hometown. I called them a few days before the pick up date and I was told that they didn't have any trucks and I wasn't registered to that location. I had to call the regional office and they were able to find me a truck. Why does the website offer things that can't be delivered? It was very frustrating and I will never reserve online again.Tim G.
After almost 2 years of using this unit, over $4,000 spent on rent, for a CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit, I came back from my military duty to my stuff destroyed, anything cloth was moldy, anything metal had rust or other forms of water damage. The storage building had a leak in the roof over the past year, the roof was replaced, but I was NOT notified, no text, email, or call, to let me know all of my stuff was in water, and my CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit was no longer controlling humidity. This was unprofessional, irresponsible, and downright negligent. Roughly $2,000 in damage came from a simple lack of effort on their part, and then was told that without their insurance on the unit, it's not their problem, but that the regional manager would be calling me to discuss it, and have not received anything. Again, their lack of communication showing how unprofessional and irresponsible they are for their facility. My customer experience was great until the new female assistant manager was hired. She's rude jusgemental snobby and I'm not be in customer service at all. She will be the reason that place will lose customers I've had friends with me that were thinking of getting a unit there and then saw how she was with customers and instantly changed their mind because of her attitude and judgmental behavior. It seemed like every time I went there they were waxing the floors so I'd have to come back or wait. The door to the unit was not on level so it was extremely difficult to get my lock on and off so much so that a few times I couldn't open it or close it so I'd have to call a friend to help me or even have to come back or leave it unlocked. Supposed to have climate control and I was paying for it ,it was so cold i side , some of my stuff got broken because it was too cold was 52° ,when I used to rent before it used to be 65 and I asked them to put it up to 65 one girl was rude to me , she said it needs to below 55° , that's not climate control to me sorry .then they upped my rent and i was only there 4 months. I wont rent from uhaul ever again . Plus i didnt feel safe . One guy was sleeping in his storage that was next to my first storage , then had to park outside because both stall where taking up by guys doing drugs in their cars , smoking and working on his car . The day I moved into the facility on my current unit there was snow everywhere making it difficult to move into the facility. I was promised 1/2 off of the unit for all of the issues, however I am uncertain a credit was applied. The sliding electric door was stuck and had to be held open manually. There were numerous tows blocking the entrance and I was unable to access the closest door to my storage unit. I have pictures that document these facts. A $400.00 air conditioner was stolen along with other items and boxes out of a unit I vacated. When I requested a claim be filed for theft I was continuously put off and have dealt with retaliation for speaking up for my legal rights. I was forced to contact the main office and reached someone who finally gave me the regional managers telephone number, as no one would provide the regional managers telephone number to resolve basic issues. Brittani, the Regional Manager was very helpful and professional. I was lied to and treated poorly and bullied by the current S. Willow facility manager, Richard. Before I spoke up in regards to the theft I had no issues with U-Haul. I would not recommend anyone rent from this facility. I am out a $400.00 air conditioner and other belongings that were stolen out of a storage unit I rented. I paid for insurance on the storage unit and the insurance should have covered the theft. After speaking up about the theft I faced retaliation and would never use this facility again. I no longer trust the facility manager, Richard at South Willow Street U-Haul. The previous manager was respectful, kind and caring. The current manager is unprofessional, rude, abusive and does not respect the customers, or honor his spoken words. I am thankful for the Regional Manager Brittani for professionally and maturely handling my concerns, however the fact still remains that a theft took place and U-Haul refuses to take responsibility for this criminal action against me. U-Haul retaliates against those who are robbed at this facility. I have met several amazing young women staff at this facility who went out of their way to provide kind and caring service, however with the current facility manager they are afraid.Carol P. | First Impressions

There wasn't clear instruction about how to get the access card to enter the storage facility. I arrived at site, and storage unit was not suitable and easily accessible because there were stairs and no elevator making it difficult to move furniture and mattress. Had to go to Bedford. NH facility to get appropriate storage and return truck. Very frustrating experience given that the storage space was recommended by U-Haul and ended up no be available le upon arrival.Michael C. | First Impressions
