I was told to drop the truck off at Drake Road. After showing up it was a gas station that did not accept my truck because it was so big. They denied the drop off and said i would be responsible if i left it there. I then took it to Governors drive location and they turned me down to. Told me the same thing the the drake location did. After taking the truck to the third location i finally dropped they wanted to charge me a fuel deposit. I took pictures of the gas gauge before and after i picked up the truck. they lied! Just trying to get more money out of your customers. I'm calling my credt card company and refusing to pay the fuel charge.DANIEL S.

I went here first, because I had a reservation. Once I arrived told that it was only for 4 hours. When I made the reservation this was not told to me. Then it was changed and changed again from, Decatur to right outside of Athens. The only good point was from the help of one of the staff, Willie. Thank you Willie for your help.KATHY K.

Service was exceptional until encountering representative Lucas Black. Lucas was very rude. I asked for a printout of my charges and was told they were sent to my email. I also wanted the charges broken down and was rejected with a smart response. I have had exceptional service until dealing with this individual. The manager was extremely rude and not helpful at all. He explained everything is done through your phone but I was having trouble with my phone and needed further assistance which he refused to give me so another employee came out to help I explained to him the back of the truck was filthy and still had trash in it which he immediately cleaned out I then proceeded to show him marks and scratches on the paint that had not been previously notated so as he began putting X's in the place where I showed him the manager rudely butted in and said I told you, you can upload anything you on the link I sent you so I asked him was it a problem that someone assist me since he didn't want to he then said well we are real busy as if his job took precedent over mine. He then proceeded to engage in an argument with me which I was not about to do so I just walked off. But all this new automated stuff and doing everything on line is extremely unpersonal and makes it hard to know if you're doing things right especially since I was unable to logi6at the time of my returning the truckMartha W.

Vehicle smelled HEAVILY of cigarettes, and a small amount of perfume that someone tried to use to cover it up and it didn't work. Also the check engine light was on the whole time, so that was interesting. Also, my pickup time was delayed because the vehicle I rented went for an oil change and came back 30 minutes after my reservation started. It just seems like poor planning, and a major inconvenience for my plans. I recommend fixing the issues with planning, and making better attempts at cleaning the vehicles. It's clearly posted for no smoking, so someone should have been fined enough to cover a detailed cleaning on the vehicle interior.James T.

Please don't allow smoking in the vehicles. Wash the truck beds out between each rental. Make sure there are no service lights on before allowing a vehicle to be rented. Clean the fabric in the interior of the vehicle as well. Have up-to-date photos of damage to the vehicle for approval when using the app to pickup a rental. Have a more secure dropbox for keys when returning vehicles after hours. It felt extremely risky to leave keys lying in plain sight, dropped on the floor, inside the front door.Shirelle S.

Getting things set up from Pensacola, Florida to go to Huntsville, Alabama was the issue that I had with my stuff. 5 of my U-boxes went to Ft. Payne, Alabama. I had to pay another $1,300 just to get my boxes to come where they should have gone in the first place. I had 4 that went straight to Huntsville. While the other ones went the long route and I had to basically pay twice for a shipment.Tamara L.

This was fabulous as far as scary accidents go until I spoke to the insurance company who refused to help us resolve that uhaul installed the hitch and it broke. This could have been awful and uhaul is taking no responsibility. I want to make sure that people know your level of accountability for a situation that could have killed someone. I am stunned at the lack of courtesy once I got to the insurance company. It is so awful to be having this experience when everyone up to this point was so great.CHRISTINE E.

My experience with the reservation was horrible. My original pickup site was Salon Prestige Ind, 1711 Pulaski Pike Huntsville, AL 35816 and I was unable to pick the trailer up because the agent was unable to complete the online process after over 20 minutes of trying. Bear in mind I had already completed online check-in, so all my information should have been accessible to the agent -- not so -- I was asked repeatedly to re-supply the info. So I left there and went over to the U-Haul location at 4500 University. They moved my reservation to their location and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes!Michael R.

For the most part, the equipment looked well maintained, but the truck I was assigned was dirty on the outside. I want to say that all of the representatives who have assisted me over the years and currently at this location have been knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. However, the day I picked up, there was a manager's meeting that required unexpected extra trucks to be given out and the rental agent had to handle all customers by herself. So, I believe my clean truck may have been given away during the meeting or she didn't have time to clean it, but that was not the rental agent's fault because she was trying to take care of me and other customers as quickly as possible. That one instance doesn't change my mind about this location, I do highly recommend this location and I would use this location again if the need arose!MARTHA H.

When a customer has a PREVENTABLE breakdown. Comp their horrible experience. Dont run your store like the homeless population that lives near it. Take pride in your store and its staff. Do not run it as your personal home/daycare. It is a business. Treat it as such. I shouldn't see you interacting with your kid you picked up from school while dealing with customers. For the second time in a row using Uhaul we did not have an appliance dolly available when we came to pick up our rental truck and yes it was included in our reservation This was very frustrating and we had to ask several times to get a credit due to the equipment not be ready when we came to pick up our truck. Finally, we did receive the dolly and we were not charged for it. The way it should have been handled is they should have apologized for not having it ready when we arrived and advised we would not be charged, without us having to ask repeatedly for a credit or something for our trouble and hassle. Ultimately, they made it right, which is why I would recommend them.Jeffrey G.

Staff was exceptional and the location (office, lots, and storage area) were well organized, clean, and maintained. One downside is that access is limited to only times when staff is available due to a key sign-out procedure; this impacted my plans greatly when I planned to remove items from storage at 5PM on 25 May to place in my new home (closed on it 26 May). On 22 May I personally spoke with the site manager and confirmed that the site would be open for regular hours on 25 May. Unfortunately in the morning of 25 May the site manager decided to close the site early that day, thereby constraining me to waiting until the weekend to retrieve and use my stored household goods - because I stored a lot, I could not clear out the storage into a trailer, move the trailer, unload the trailer at home, and return the trailer during a 24-hour period until the weekend. This unpublished impromptu closure negatively affected my family. Please decide upon and post / publicize non-standard hours at least two weeks in advance in order to facilitate customer planning.John Z. | Overall Experience
