Hire new staff, issue training on diversity/inclusion/leading with empathy. How to provide good customer service to retain customers. Be thorough in vehicle inspections before and after vehicle is removed from property and returned. Training team members. I’m a customer I don’t know how your company operates. Do proper investigations with rental customers before charging cards have your workers do their job and not get over on customers for profit.

The 100% guaranteed rental (10ft.truck) was “not available “ when I arrived at designated time. The person at the desk offered different/more expensive equipment (15ft truck). I was told they could not provide 15ft at previous agreed 10ft rate. They also charged me extra insurance 15$ that I did not request.

The guy told me the miles was off on the dashboard, however the miles was kept jump up and down off 20 miles. The truck started smoking while driving it. It leaked and the back kept jumps up and down. I took pictures and videos. There was so much trash on the passenger side.

Jamorris the check in attendant was on his phone the entire check process texting and making personal calls. He acted like I was inconveniencing him by showing up and needing to check in. He barely looked up from his phone and you could barely understand what he was saying. You couldn’t tell whether he was talking to me or the person he was on the phone with. The phone call was definitely personal has he talked about “lawyers and shit” using his air pods. He was rude and cut me off from speaking multiple times. He had zero clue how to hook up the safety chains on the trailer and didn’t tighten the tongue of the trailer enough. The only thing he did to inspect it was make sure my hazards work. He we waited because he wouldn’t open the gates to get in and out for so long we had to call inside and ask him to open them only to be cut off and told “he got it”. I was absolutely shocked that a U-Haul service attendant could be so terrible. I hope something is done about this employee. Trailer was dented and rusted all over. The wheel hubs and wheel nuts were VERY rusty. Location is VERY difficult to access and load a pull behind trailer. Would not rent from this U-Haul location again.

I just wanted to recognize the lady who was running things behind the counter. She was on top of things handling 3 customers at once. It was kinda incredible. She got me exactly what I wanted and quickly. She's a great asset for your company. Wish I caught her name but I'm sure it's easy to figure out who I'm talking about. The truck should not be used for running, especially for safety. The engine check light was on all the time, the AC did not work at all, and there was a broken side mirror, a broken fuel cap, a broken door keyhole, and a dirty inside. I do not understand why cleaning fees of $25 were charged because I did not leave any trash, and the truck was not clean. I used many Uhaul trucks in the past, but this one was in the worst condition.

Truck had trash leftover in the bed and was dirty. Truck was fairly beat up, over 130k miles. Interior was not clean. Was left with 3 miles till empty when I picked it up. I was also charged 2 days when I used for 1. I wont be coming back again.

The manager is HORRIBLE she’s very cocky and arrogant. I was wrongfully locked out of my unit then nobody knew why. I taught to rent a tool from Home Depot to cut it off. After cleaning the unit and letting the staff know. I was still getting late fees and email. Why I do not know, now all of a sudden I get this email asking me to rate this location… that’s crazy Jamika should not be running a business like that. I would not rent at or from this location. I’m sorry smh

This is probably the worst location in Atlanta the manager has a very nasty attitude and the staff aren’t trained properly on what needs to be done. There was an unknown charge on my account and I had to call customer service in order for them to remove it because the Manager was not helpful regarding this matter. They mixed up my unit numbers then tried to blame me. I had to contact the president who so kindly handled all matters respectfully for me. I would not recommend this location. I moved my things out after the first month.

You have a gentleman working at the front desk piedmont rd location that is an absolute rockstar and would be an asset to any company. His name is Chris and the level of professionalism, Knowledge, and respect that I witnessed was awesome. But, that’s not all with a pretty large line of customers I was one of them Chris shockingly managed to handle 2 at a time at 2 different desk flawlessly. No customer felt like they did not have his complete attention, care, or professionalism at any time. Thoroughly impressive to witness and be part of while just renting a Uhaul on a typical Sunday morning. Many thanks to Chris! My name is Bernardo Claudio and I rent from Uhaul regularly but the first time I ever felt or seen someone go above and beyond from a place of just drive on his part.

The staff failed to remove the lock on the cargo door. This resulted in the loss of one hour of paid movers being able to work. I had to return several miles to the store to obtain a key. No apologies. No one cared. Will never use Uhaul again.

Inform customers that they will have to pay for parking their person vehicle when picking up a truck or get dropped pff. I had no idea and had to pay $40 plus to park my car on property. It would have be very helpful if i would have know said information ahead of time not once o arrived and inquired due to not seing available parking. The parking cost little more than half of my rental.

This is an urban location. The listed entrance for returning equipment was closed. I had a 12' trailer and had to back it up the 1 lane alley after being told entrance was closed. Next person told me to back rig thru parking lot to other side. Once i got there, I was told by someone else, I had to pull in thru the gate. Parking lot was full, & it was a challenge to navigate around U-Haul vehicles and customer vehicles. When I finally got to drop off trailer, employee was helpful.

The location was fine. My one complaint is that I was supposed to have a self check in, and when completing the check in process on my phone, it was unclear that I needed to go into the office. The office looked closed and the 'Open' sign was not lit. I had to call the 800 Uhaul number to find out that I needed to go into the office to get the keys to the rental. I went into the seemingly closed office to find the office was in fact open and there was a representative inside. The van I rented was behind a closed gate that only an employee could open/allow access to. The first van I was supposed to use had a flat tire. The rep then assigned me to a another vehicle that worked perfectly. It was nice and clean, new, and very nice to drive. Overall, my experience was fine. I just wish it was clear that self service/check in is not really self service and that you have to go into the office to complete the check in process. Which is not a problem, just clear communication would've been preferred.

The property manager/owner is charging to park a vehicle while the customer rents a truck - $9/hour!!! I’m giving you business. Theres an area outside the gate in the back that a 3rd party has been leased this spot. Bad business. I’m going all over social media letting people know what bad business and short sighted this is over this location. I will never rent here again.

This storage unit was closed out more than a year ago. Uhaul continued to charge my card for more than a year to a unit that we no longer had the keys for. No one at the storage unit was able to help with these charges and would only “re close” out the unit, requiring us to make additional payments. This was not acceptable and we cancelled the card instead to avoid additional charges. They then continued to follow up saying they will sell off the unit. Unfortunately, this did not change anything for us as whatever was in the unit was not ours. I do feel bad for whoever’s stuff was sold without being contacted but again we turned over that storage unit more than a year ago. This saga was an absolute nightmare and I would think twice before ever continuing to use Uhaul in any capacity (particularly this location).

The associate who helped me was very professional and courteous. I was disappointed with the van I rented. First, as I was about to get on the highway, a light came on saying that one of the tires was low. So I had to pull into a gas station in the pouring rain and put air in the tire. The dashboard continued to flash constantly saying that one of the tires was low. They were all the same at that point, so i just ignored it. Also, the dashboard flashed constantly saying that the wiper fluid was low. After 400 miles, the constant flashing of those two things became more than annoying.

I never received a confirmation txt so when I went to pick up my U-Haul at the self service station I could not pick up my rental even though in the app it says that my reservation was there. It took me two hours on customer service and chat to get someone to do whatever to my account so that I could get the approval process started. I use the option to add a reference and when Nicole called him, she only said she was given this number in case of a late return. My dad was confused and said no we are at the location trying to pick up a vehicle and she hung up on us so we had to wait on customer service again for another 25 minutes to get someone to fix everything for us. My check-in was 5 AM. I did not get my vehicle until after seven by this time, the U-Haul location was now open and when I opened the back of my truck, the dolly I requested was not in there. The location I picked up my U-Haul had no dollies and they called all the locations around who also did not have any dollies or did not pick up. My move was only for furniture, so at this point I did not need the U-Haul because I do not have a dolly. I ended up having to go and rent a dolly from Home Depot. This was the worst experience I ever had. It pushed my day back hours . I will never use U-Haul again.

I’ve already left a complaint with corporate customer service, but this was an abysmal experience. We were scammed into paying for the insurance because the clerk was adamant that it was not optional. After calling customer service, we confirmed that it was, but were told that we would just have to come back and speak with the manager. Our cargo van smelled like cigarette smoke and the piece-de-resistance was the bottle of urine that we found rolling around the back of the van when we got to our home.

I reserved a 15' truck. When I arrived I, nor the manager could get the back door raised and the license plate did not match what was on file. I was told there was nothing else. I was asked to take it and bring it back the next day to swap it out. Having no other choice, I did. It was a waste. What good is a 15' u haul without being able to open the back?

The van was clean but the yelkow light for tire service was there when i picked up. Did not have time to point it out. Fortunately it did not pose a problem. Had the vehicle for about 28 hours. The team brought the van out and handed the keys over. Did not even bother to go through the major items for tye drive… gad, how to adjust the seats, open the trunk, set the mirrors etc. Nothing. Also the driver door had ro be really jammed to shut it. Team did NOT discuss the toll situation. Have my own FL transponder …. Had to call sunpass and location manager 2 times each to sort who who would pay and how. Frustrating

The customer service was terrible. The manager called to tell me my truck wasn’t available and the reservation got moved to a different location. But when I got there it was Closed. On top of that she had a nasty attitude on the phone. Then when I went back to this location to get a different truck It was Just a very hassle filled process and then at the end one of the front desk people flirted with me and I was just not happy with the experience. The truck also smelled terrible and the tire pressure light was on the entire time.

I understand that mistakes happen, but I was overcharged for my rental. I called to have it resolved and was met with a dismissive employee and even more rude store manager. She refused to tell me when she would complete her investigation on my claim, cut me off when I spoke, and more importantly suggested that I may have stolen one of the utility dollys. I still haven't received the appropriate refund or a follow up - from her location nor corporate. I am very glad I didn't store my furniture at that location. I wouldn't trust it there with those people at all. At this point, I am sure I will never use that location again - regardless of the convenience. And I am certain that U-haul will not refund my money, so I will have to do a charge back to receive the additional $26 that was charged on my account.

Food waste, beer can, cig butts in cab. Puddle of beer in cupholder. Gas gauge read 1/4+, but was represented as 1/2 full of my sign in which I did not catch until driving away. To their credit, when I showed the guys a picture of the gauge timestamped at pickup time, they did not charge me.

Poor communication. Reservation (that was for a whole month) had been cancelled without a phone call. At end of rental, without a phone call or email to the renter, the renter's emergency contact was contacted with threats that the van was going to be reported stolen and a warrant placed for the renter's arrest. Renter was not aware that extending the time was necessary for long term rentals. Issues could have been easily resolved by phone calls, texts, or emails to client before escalating the situation. We will not use this location again.

My truck was not cleaned before I received it. There were weed blunts in the cup holders and the whole interior cab reeked like weed. Then you had the nerve to charge ME a cleaning fee after I reported that I received the truck dirty? The dolly I ordered and relied on was unavailable. Your 26 year old sales associate made inappropriate advances at my 18 year old sister. Your location general manager Jamika Bryant was extremely rude and called me a liar when I voiced all these complaints to her. Still haven't heard from the district manager.

Charged for gas I didn’t use. They don’t ref url from previous renters who fail to refuel and then blame you for the gas being low. Then proceed to charge your card. Keep better tabs on your trucks and the gas and mileage used. I never had this issue out of Penske. Also did not have the dolly I paid for!

The individual who assisted me during the check-in process was friendly, but it became evident that there were issues with management or a lack thereof. I had made a reservation for a storage unit through the app, and I had a free month credited to my account, which I was informed was valid for 2 years by customer service. However, when I attempted to redeem this offer, I was informed that only a manager could authorize it, and unfortunately, the manager was unavailable. I arrived at the facility at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 21st. To my dismay, I discovered that none of the units listed as available on the young man's list were actually vacant. We had to visit buildings A, B, and C, inspecting various units, which significantly prolonged the process of securing a unit. The management at this location should be more proficient in maintaining an updated list of unit availability to avoid such inconveniences. It took us two hours just to secure a unit. Finally, when I obtained the unit, I encountered another problem: the air conditioning in the hallway where my unit was located was not functioning. This made packing our belongings in the sweltering heat an overwhelming and stressful experience. Moving is inherently stressful, and the issues I encountered at this U-Haul facility only exacerbated the situation. In summary, my overall experience with U-Haul's management at this location was far from satisfactory. I will be filing a formal complaint and expecting some type of refund.

However the truck had all of the dash lights on, check engine lights etc. Driving over a certain limit felt like it was gonna fall apart at times. And I reserved a dolly but they only had ones you could purchase. That’s very inconvenient for ppl who are moving and expecting to have the right equipment in order to move things. Get more equipment or don’t have it available to reserve if you don’t actually have it for ppl to use when they come to pick up.

When I moved in my stuff to storage and upgraded to a bigger unit, I was given two different prices. The unit on the first floor price was higher than the unit on the throes floor, C304 for $246.00. After making the payment and transferred to the bigger unit, payment cleared by the bank, the previous store manager increased the price to be the same as the one in the first floor. In person discussions with the store manager, he requested documentation for the $246.00 payment. And even promised a free month with the documentation. I submitted my bank statement with the $246 payment. Rescinded on the offer. Put my unit on a lien, added additional fees and charges for late payment. I submitted my documentation to the Uhaul top management. All the extra fees I had paid were returned. Moving out of the C304 storage unit after escaping from a toxic, hostile living situation, I found a safe house. I got financial assistance from the Church of transfiguration, At Vincent the Paul to pay for my August 2023 unit rental. They sent a check. After 20 days, the Uhaul Piedmont store never found the check. I used my last money to pay for the rental and vacated by September 12,2023 to avoid another month rental. I kept the store manager aware of the vacated unit to no avail. Per conversation with the store manager, she wanted to charge me for an extra month. On September 26,2023 I agreed to closed the account due to the missing check. And the same day the uhaul Piedmont store tried to charge the additional month to my card without my authorization or knowledge. I have documented my previous comments and sent them via email ti the top UHaul management and the store manager. As a loyal UHaul customer since 1977, you have some bad actors within your organization that are affecting your brand loyalty. Thanks. Juan

My only concern was that my New storage units locking apparatus did not feel secure. It moved when I secured it with my lock and I'm a little concerned about that. Parking at this location can be tricky especially when there is a lot of rental equipment in storage. I’ve had a few issues with that causing me to avoid this location when I bough moving supplies even though I had a rental unit there. Other than that relatively clean and secure, had a few minor issues with the gate but nothing that couldn’t be solved with another card swipe.

It is not a great location for the storage facility as it is a super tight space with not a lot of room to move and my main complaint, well really only complaint, is that the door to the area where my storage unit was, was pretty much always blocked by a truck or trailer making it difficult to navigate with boxes or items in hand. Also, it made it impossible to use a dolly so had to carry everything in and out by hand. If I had not only been using the facility for a short time while my floors were being redone, I would have moved to a different unit. Burt I would not go back to this facility mainly because it was a poor location, really too small to maneuver around in especially when multiple people where there at the same time. Service and staff were good. Just the location was poor.

I have used U-Haul services many other times, from various other locations. They have all been very good. This experience, however, was by far, the worst I could have imagined. My storage reservation specifically stated a climate-controlled unit, but I was given a non-climate control unit. I was never informed before hand or even during the check-in. I called back several times wanting to speak to the manager, Trell, but was given excuses that she was not available and rudely dismissed. That reservation with a Rent-Now promotion would have provided me a free lock, but told I needed to pay, and so I was charged unnecessarily. By the way, I rented a cargo van in the process. The worst part was yet to come, one month later, when I came to pull my contents out. Again, I reserved a cargo van. Pick up was noon on Saturday. I flew into Atlanta, and was running late due to an issue with the rental vehicle at the airport. I arrived at the Piedmont location at 12:45, and told that my reservation had been cancelled. There should have been a courtesy call asking, but nothing, not even considering that I had an active storage unit rented there. Staff was rude, and pushed me off to the Peachtree location where that reservation was close to not being honored, if not for my pleading. When I came back with a truck rented elsewhere, I asked to rent a hand truck dolly, and again not allowed, even though there were 6 of them available and the store was going to close in 3 hours. Again, I asked to speak to Trell, again I was denied. Staft and management were just so unprofessional. This was the absolute worst experience.

I got locked in on one instance because I wasn’t told any time limitations. When I cleared my storage unit, the employee on duty was made aware before she hurriedly left for the day and told me she would deactivate my access that day. But never made a note in the system. This date was before my free 30 days was up, I called to schedule the walk through the day before my 30 days and was told I couldn’t proceed with the walk through until I paid mY outstanding balance. I explained the situation and the so called manager on duty (not Trell) said that even though the employee neglected to note that I was moving out on a date prior to my 30 days I still had to pay.

Representative in the phone was not helpful and coerced me into getting a unit that she insinuated was the same as the one I had reserved, turns out it was a wine unit. The gate code did not work so when I came back the next day and discovered the situation with the wine unit I tried to explain to the manager that I already had a drive up unit reserved and he stated that because it was a few minutes after 6 he couldn’t help me so I’m on day 3 of sorting this out. Very disappointed as I have been a U-Haul customer for 10 years and never had issues like this before.

I was given the wrong address online and it wasn't open when I arrived during the hours of operation, then they gave me the correct address but the first unit they gave me a unit too small after I told them I needed a bigger size. I moved to Atlanta,GA from New York City/tri-state area. I booked my storage unit in March and arrived to ATL in July. When scheduling my truck and storage unit in March, the automated e-Mail from the U-Haul company did not contain any move in information, only truck return by date. Because I did not move in by a specific date expected by the company, my storage unit was canceled by the company. Kiera came to my rescue and corrected the company mistake. Kierra found my requested storage unit and I moved in on the day I requested. Kierra was very understanding of my traveling situation and accommodated my needs and expectations. The company of U-Haul is below satisfactory but Kierra fixed an issue that should not have been existent. Beware with using the U-Haul company. My reservation for a 10x20 unit was not honored I had called repeatedly and visited in person week prior to confirm all- yet I arrived w movers and was told not available. There was one 10x15 available. After exploring I took it. I did not have any choice at that point. It’s ceiling has a rip w insulation hanging and no lightbulb. I was told no more lightbulbs in units and they would put in work order for ceiling- but now we have all our items stacked in the unit so don’t see how they can repair. It should have been fully repaired before move in allowed. My customer service contacts were very nice and very helpful but their capacity to deliver service seemed compromised by your system. There was only one service person there as well. You really need to better support your employees to deliver better customer service Also the back gate broken.

There were 5 other people moving in and out of the same building my storage unit was in which made the process take much longer. I originally was supposed to be at a different storage unit and it was not until I arrived at the storage unit I reserved that I was told there were no units available. My unit was supposed to be a 10X13 drive up and I was given a 10X12 on the third floor. Nobody apologized for my inconvenience, the staff was not helpful.

There is not enough driving room at this storage place. I’ve had multiple conversations with Kierra Arnold about my unit being closed, with me being in another state, I have to do over the phone/online. I closed it online on March 1, 2021 and she continued to send letters, emails, and phone calls when I stated the unit was closed and she also had possession of my keys for the unit. It is now May 6, 2021 and I’m just now received from her end my unit is fully closed out when it should have already been done. I’m sure other U-Haul storages are not this bad or difficult to deal with but I will always let everyone know never to use this storage place in Buckhead as it’s been a huge headache.

The gate was broken, transient people walking through, did not feel safe. The bathroom was disgusting. It smelled like smoke inside building. After speaking to customer service after booking my unit initially to help me choose a size, I was assured the size would be appropriate. It wasn’t even close. We went through 3 units before I was able to get the right size. Customer service needs better training on what sizes are appropriate because it caused a hassle and it’s confusing to the customer. Also, the unit I confirmed online (and went in a week before my move in day to reconfirm in person) was already booked and unavailable when I got there with basically a shrug from the person working. One size up was available but she wouldn’t even consider a discount for the inconvenience though I confirmed that unit twice. Why should i pay more when the unit you promised me is gone? Didn’t matter because even that unit was too small. The whole move in process was a nightmare and the handful of times we had to go to the unit before we could move it out, it felt unsafe. I would never go back here.

Signing up for the storage unit was easy and the staff that helped on the day I first arrived was helpful. I was moving out of town, so I didn't stop back by until ready to move my things out 3 months later. When I arrived back in town and stopped by on 12/3, it was 58 degrees inside the temperature controlled area I rented. There was a sign that said it should be below 65, but I was in a hurry and forgot to call the desk to inform them. When I arrived on 12/4, it was 47 degrees inside and I called to ask that the heat be turned on. I was told that someone "might get to it today," which was an unprofessional, and frankly unacceptable answer, but I had movers arriving so we got started. The movers started unloading my unit and bringing items to the Uhaul truck I rented, parked outside building C. They started with bringing small items (couple of light boxes, my desk chair, some outdoor folding chairs, etc). On the way down the elevator, one of the long light bulbs fell from the ceiling without being hit with anything (we didn't have anything tall enough to hit it loaded in the elevator yet), and hit one of the movers on the head. It shattered, leaving glass all over the elevator. I called the front desk to inform them of the incident and the person at the desk literally said "what would you like me to do?" in a harsh tone. I asked if someone could clean up the glass and asked if an incident report needed to be completed on their end. She said she'd send someone to clean up the glass, and never acknowledged an incident report or asked if the gentleman that was hit by the bulb was ok. She asked what we hit the light with, and I shared that we hadn't moved any large items and it wasn't hit, and that she was welcome to come see what we had moved so far (and I took pictures). Minutes later, two people arrived at the building. Neither of them ever acknowledged any of us, myself or the movers. No hello, how are you, nothing. I complimented one of them on their shoes and she said thank you then walked away. The customer service this day was incredibly disappointing and I definitely would not recommend someone use this location given the chance they may have to interact with rude staff.

We moved to another place bc key cards stopped working allllllll the time. Then you’d have to wait in line for 15-45 minutes when it didn’t work. There is NOT enough people working, they don’t acknowledge when you enter 80% of time although most recent manager (African American woman) was great and helpful... but still couldn’t fix the key issues and give us back lost time and frustration. I contacted a customer service number to uhaul and no response. My advice... GO BACK TO PIN NUMBERS. It’s crazy to charge 300+ abd not have access available

Air conditioning the facility did not work for my climate controlled 5x5 storage unit in which I was going to store precious artwork. My first visit to my unit I found a backpack full of sexual toys and items and drugs as I was going to put a lock on my locker. I was refunded with no questions asked by one month of storage fees which I appreciated. Has a side note I did not have much faith with the management of the facility not returning phone calls or dressing my issues directly.
