Our trailer just needed a good sweep out. We went with a Penske truck because they had unlimited miles on their 26 ft truck and we're $400. Cheaper we were so surprised had to go with them. They also guaranteed we would have a truck which meant a lot to us.JAMES B.

I would not recommend using the 24/7 pick up or drop off feature. Both picking it up and dropping it off it failed to work. Way too difficult to authenticate renter, and could never get phone to find location for return (and yes I enabled location on my phone) system was a mess on all accounts.Daniel R.

My overall experience was pretty awful. The movers who I hired through Uhaul, picked up the box from Old Hickory, were late. They said said they would be at my place at 11 and no one showed up at that time. I called at 1130, the guy said he would be there at 4. He didn't show up until 430. I called him three days prior, I said I preferred mornings when he asked what time I preferred. He said 11, worked for him. If he couldn't make that time, it would have been nice to get a text. He said he mixed up the names, which I get it. I have dyslexia. However it would have been nice to get a confirmation Text of when he was coming. This may help him be more organized and can help him come up with a method that works for him. Time is important, especially trying to move while working. Long story short, he didn't load the box with all my items, he said there wasn't enough room. I should have checked myself instead of trusting him. When my things arrived, there was plenty of space. This resulted in me getting rid of things, paying more shipping costs, and me, an annoyed customer. Then the box arrived at the wrong location in LA, I spent over an hour calling Uhaul, getting hung up on by a regional manager Yolanda. I was worried the movers wouldn't be able to go that location, she said go there yourself then and hung up on me. She was rude and not understanding at all of why I was frustrated. At that point, I called the movers, that I booked through Uhaul and let them know the box was actually delivered to another location in LA. They told me I needed to pay them $20 to go there. Which is why I was frustrated, with Yolanda, bc she wasn't understanding at all to my concerns about the box not being delivered to the right location. At this point, I just want my things, so I said I would pay them. Once they arrived, Uhaul gave them the wrong box. I'm not sure if this is retaliation or human error. The drivers go back and then say they can't deliver the order that night, they would do it first thing in the morning. I was beyond frustrated at this point. The drivers were great at deescalating me. We worked together on conflict resolution and they understood where I was coming from. I was impressed by their ability to deescalate and remain calm under pressure. However, my overall experience with Uhaul and Yolanda, were awful! My first experience with Uhaul was so awful, that I would not continue business with Uhaul. I manage customer experience teams and while I get that things happens. It's accountability, conflict resolution, and feeling heard that keep repeat customers and I didn't get that at Uhaul.Gina P.

The staff was friendly enough, but the clerk rang me up and then said, I'll pull the truck up out front and meet you there. So, I went out front but he never pulled the truck up front, he pulled it under a green awning and just stood there waiting for me to join him. Also, there were free boxes available and I carried as much as I could out. So, I was standing there waiting on him to pull the truck over and he was standing by the truck waiting on me to come to him. He never communicated that I needed to come there. Anyway, I finally picked up the boxes and walked that way. Arms overflowing with boxes, struggling not to drop them - he stood there watching me. I know it's not his job to assist me in carrying boxes to the truck, but really? He just stood there while I dropped several and had to go back for them! The truck was clean enough but the check engine light was on. He never mentioned this, so I pulled back up to the bay doors and motioned for him to come to the truck. I said "the check engine light is on" and he replied "oh it's always on, it's fine". Then, I said, I think I have found the switch for the headlights, can you walk to the front of the truck and see if they are on. He replied, "they should be on if you pulled the knob". ok I returned the truck after hours and followed the steps in the app to complete the return. THREE TIMES!!! Every time I took a picture when it asked me to, I kept getting an error that the picture was too old - "Please take a current picture". By the time I took the necessary pictures and tried to finish, the pictures were not current anymore - according to your app. And it was pouring rain and there was only one area under a canopy that should be for returns, but there were multiple trucks PARKED under the canopy so those of us making a return weren't able to get in there out of the weather. So, I stood in the pouring rain taking multiple pictures - getting my phone and myself drenched - because there wasn't an area under a canopy available.DEBORAH G.

The only problem I had was that they only gave me 1/4th tank of gas. I had to stop Sunday morning before going to my show and get gas. It wasn't a really big deal but it was a little inconvenient. Otherwise my experience was great.Mardella S.

I would suggest not to be able to rent the 10' truck over long distance. The ride is too stiff/bouncy and there is a limiter on the trans which does not help you go up any type of incline on the highway without causing drivers to aggressively want to pass you. That. An cause a hazardous scenario. The 15' & 20' did very well in those conditions. Gracias.Michael C.

Your national phone and website stinks. I drove to an from the UHaul facility just to make reservations and change reservations. 3 calls. All had over 40 minutes wait. The 1st time I waited that long and when someone answered, I was immediately cut off. Thank goodness for the on site communication and help or I would never use Uhaul againKENT S.

My card was charged for an additional fee on top of my final bill but was never informed what the charge was for. I returned the truck with a full tank of gas which was noted at check in so still no idea what the charge it for. The cab if the truck was completely dirty and clearly has never been wiped out/cleaned. I used approx 15 clorox wipes just on the steering wheel and they were all completely black with dirt (I guess being covid safe/clean is not a thing at uhaul.......) next time I will stick with renting a tow behind trailer to avoid touching anything with that much dirt/germs.Holly M.

Very professional and courteous. I saw online the availability of the supplies and booked the apt. They gave the next business day apt. And installed the hitch. Even though I reached a little later than my apt. they were very polite. The hitch was fixed without any issues. I recommend them 110% if there is anything like this. First, they gave me a unit that already had someone elses belongings inside and then issued me a new storage space. THAT space was empty, but they forgot to add that to my account so they locked my box up. Had to chat with them about that issue for nearly a half hour trying to get THAT squared away. Then the truck I rented to haul my toolbox had a door that kept popping open, and if it wasnt for a friendly driver on the road, I could have spilled everything out that wasnt tied down and/or killed someone. Truck had a cracked windscreen. Not a biggie, but I had to explain it away after the fact. After that, they neglected to close my account when I returned the vehicle as the unit was now empty. Now I keep getting rent reminders and charges added to a unit that I turned in 1 month ago. So you tell me how my experience was.Kevin U. | Overall Experience

The overhead door/garage door was bent and off the track at the bottom. It got to the point that I could not open it all the way up, nor could I close it. I complained and a member of the staff worked on it and got it closed. I returned several days later and the door was still bent and water was dripping down on my quilting machine.
