The handle broke on the strap on dolly when I went to strap my vehicle down. I decided to now use the dolly due to the equipment being faulty. I ended up using a friends trailer to tow vehicle. I brought up the issue with the advisor at U-Haul when returning equipment. Was told he would â€œtake care of meâ€ since I was cut by the handle when it broke and didn't even use it. Just got a final receipt for the full amount. Kinda wish the equipment was in better shape. ChrisChristian V.

Will was patiently working with the network connection that prevented the completion of the order. He kindly discounted the mileage for me due to the delay. The truck was not clean from previous customer and there were only 4 uhaul blankets instead of 6. Kim kindly refunded the blanket charge and offered an additional refund due to the non cleaned truck and the cab smelled like cigarette/cigar smoke. Both very professional and customer friendly. The mobile app would not work for me when I returned the truck so was charged an extra fee. The cleaner/disinfectant used in the truck cab had a disagreeable smell. Kimberly Evans, who checked out the truck to me, was exemplary. She was friendly, helpful, and explained everything completely, walked me through the complex rental process, and stayed with me until I was satisfied with the process and equipment.CARLAMARIE R.

This was my first time renting from this location, but as I have come to expect from U-Haul, the equipment was in good condition, and the service was wonderful. Everyone friendly and helpful.ROLANDWILLETT B.
Everything was great with this location and the rep, until I received my email receipt. I returned the truck on FULL, when I got the receipt it said it was empty, and had almost $200 in fuel charges. The rep had been so nice at pick up and drop off, I just assumed it was an error, so I called - her tone was immediately different when I asked her about it, and she said "YES MAM IT WAS EMPTY". I firmly told her, NO, it was full, I filled it up just a few blocks away from the store. She was huffy and said "when I looked at it said empty, IF when I go turn it on it says full, I'll reverse the charge." Based on her complete tone change, I feel like this is a scam and she waits to see if you notice - it didn't even have to be on full, I had just happened to fill it up. There was never an apology, a polite "When I looked it showed empty but I will look again and call you back" - nothing, she was hateful, accusatory, and rude. If there is any other store in Roanoke that has a truck next time I need one, I will go there, because I don't have confidence in the integrity - or I will do before/after hours and photograph everything.PAMELADAWN F.

Will, the manager of Melrose U-Haul and his staff are very customer service oriented. Will and his staff are friendly and professional as they make sure that everything having to do with your rental and purchase of supplies is correct. I am in the process of moving out of state so may not need their services again (have used them twice in recent months). This truck was actually in bad shape and the guy told me that while checking me out. If I hadn't really needed the truck, I would have went somewhere else. He told me that when I bought it back, it would be going out to be serviced. I tried to rent a van instead because he said he would never rent this truck out. This location is the best I have been to. Took less than 5 minutes to check my truck out and less than a minute to check it in. Friendly and professional, equipment extremely clean and ready. First of all they changed the location I reserved very last minute. I also had awful experience with these thieves from the beginning to the end. They add many chargers that was not right.I delivered the truck in 10 hours and I paid 2 days rate plus after hours fee plus cleaning fee!HAMID G.
I was contacted by a call center employee 2 days before I was supposed to pick up the trailer and told Uhaul didn't have it for the location or time at which it had been booked and it needed to be picked up at a later time at this location. I asked her to go beyond looking at her screen and enlist some help in making sure the reservation was going to happen so that the move that I had planned for several months, and for which my wife and I had both taken off work, would happen. She was borderline rude and said there was nothing else she could do. I requested that she have her supervisor call me, which never happened. Fortunately, a different employee, who happened to be the manager of both Uhaul facilities that I was dealing with, called me to confirm my storage reservation. I mentioned my concerns about the trailer I had reserved not being available and he took the incentive to call his regional field manager and get the trailer I needed moved to his store so that it would be available for my move. Kudos to Will, the local manger in Roanoke! Kendra, the call center employee in Lynchburg needs to work on her customer service skills.Jared B.

The pickup and drop off location personnel were great. The initial person we spoke with over the phone was terrible as was â€œForrestâ€ at the call center. They were grievous and abrasive. Every male we spoke with on the phone was absolutely terrible. The young lady in the call center assigned to our area was solution oriented and absolutely fantastic. The call centers are overwhelmed and it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get through.Eric M.
