Rented a truck to pick up some heavy equipment, including an appliance dolly. Turns out there was no ramp in the truck I rented which made the dolly rental pointless and loading the equipment into the truck almost impossible. You should add a simple question to your rentals about whether a ramp is needed/included when someone also rents a dolly with it.Michael G.

I will go out of my way to warn people about this so called service. While the crew in NH was fine, the service in Florida was horrible. My UBox couldn't be located for a day and a half, once it was delivered to the Uhaul store in FL, it was stuck there. They wanted me to go to the store, unload the UBox onto a truck, drive the truck to my new home, unload the items again and drive the truck back to the store. I paid for door to door delivery for a reason. After the unprofessional conversation with Uhaul's customer service representative, they said that it would be delivered several days later IF they could find a Cover for the UBox. Lack of supplies for planned rentals? Ridiculous. Not only was my stuff missing, delayed & delayed again but, they told me several times that I would receive a REFUND of $50. for each day my UBox was delayed. At this point I was expecting a refund of more than $300. Which I NEVER RECEIVED! Customer service changed their tune and said it was now only $50. for the day they couldn't locate my UBox. Which, I never even received. Several messages were left for the Manager in Palm Bay to call me. Not a single response. I paid a lot of money for Guaranteed on time door to door service. The service was terrible, nothing was On Time and the Uhaul Company didn't even stand behind it's Refund for the delays. Worst experience ever.Bridget P.

When I went to pickup my reservation, they did not have my rental trailer. The clerk offered me a one way trailer at a rate of $232.?? What good is a guarantee that the rental equipment will be there if you don't have the equipment? I called the 800# for about 30 minutes, they ended up calling manager to get the equipment I had reserved at the rate I reserved it at. The clerk was apologetic when I went back to get the rental 45 minutes beyond my original pickup timeDREW O.

We waited over 30 min in store before anyone helped us. The woman behind the counter was unprofessional and was giving out extremely personal information to customers in attempts to build repot. the other young gentleman working dealt with at least 3 people while she chatted up with one. My experience with this place was great. But I was supposed to pick up a trailer in Lynn mass and someone in Danvers that made my reservation really messed up. I was supposed to have a trailer from Thursday to Sunday and the person who made my reservation made it for one day. That turned into me driving an hour and 15 minutes north to then drive back home an hour and 15 minutes to pick up the car. I then drove 3 1/2 to 4 hours north past where I pick the trailer up. Then Sunday on the way home same thing drove past the trailer place home and had to drive back up north and back home it was a shit showJohn W.

It was not a pleasant experience with the sales associate. I rented an appliance Dolly and the clerk said she would call me the next day to be sure I was returning it. And the equipment didn't function well. I wasn't able to lift past the first step. I think the chain mechanism was not lubricated. .David D.

This experience of renting a uhaul was by far the worst experience I've had. Approximately one week prior to moving I reserved a 26' uhaul online from my local location. While completing the reservation I read the disclaimer that stated I would receive a call the day prior to verify the availability my equipment rental. I didn't think much of this as I assumed that by requesting a 26' uhaul there was some reservation/scheduling method in place and there would be a 26' uhaul available the day I requested. As the week went on I spoke with multiple friends about the move and almost everyone I spoke with had a poor experience with not receiving the right equipment they ordered. This made me nervous. However, I thought maybe it was an error on their behalf, or maybe it was a coincidence. Now fast forward to the day prior to moving, After hearing all of these poor experiences, I went down to the local uhaul location just to verify my 26' uhaul was there. Sure enough it was. While I was there, I received a call from uhaul verifying my order. While on the phone, the woman explained to me that there are no 26' uhaul available at my location and that the closest one is over an hour away. She further explained that the location closes in less than an hour! There was no way I would've made it there in time. Now the woman I spoke with was extremely polite and sympathized with my frustration. She did explain that I was not the only one who had to deal with this issue today and said unfortunately it is a common occurrence. At the end of all of this, I ended up with a 10' uhaul and a very poor experience. I don't know what uhaul needs to do, to rectify this issue. But I'm sure there is a way to better track rentals and make sure people receive the rentals they reserve.John L.

The UHaul Manchester Airport in Bedford NH is a terrific storage facility. It is secure, well lit, and they have a great mix of indoor climate controlled and indoor or outdoor vehicle storage. Tara, the manager, is terrific. She is courteous, professional and efficient. Ashley and Jessica were fantastic, which was a breath of fresh air after the negative experience we had at UHaul in Methuen, Massachusetts where the two employees couldn't have cared less about customer service. Ashley greeted us warmly and showed us around. Jessica changed our truck dropoff over to Bedford at our request and later, despite being very busy, cheerfully provided us with a second unit. Employee said there would be a lock inside of my storage unit and I would not need to purchase one. The unit did not in fact contain any lock. The retail portion of the uhaul was closed so I could not purchase a lock in their store. I had to leave to go buy one. There was also a person sitting by the entrance of the storage facility screaming profanities. I had rented a truck and got a the first month free storage. I had reserved a 10X10 storage room at the Nashua branch but when I got to the Nashua team stated that they no longer had a room. I ask them why the website stated that their was still one room available and they mention the website was incorrect. I was then forward to the Bedford site and the general manager (Malissa) was extremely help and we where able to find a room. I rate the Bedford site Excellent but for the Nashua branch I would rate as average. I was very impressed with the Manager, Tara, and her thorough description of all the services offered by U-Haul. Tara was very friendly and very professional working with me to find the right size unit to rent. I was even more impressed by the security measures U-Haul has taken to protect our most precious possessions including the security cameras and alarmed units. Having had an experience with a previous storage facility, not U-Haul owned, where the security gate and cameras were not working when my unit was broken into, security is of the utmost importance to me. There was an unusual snowfall the night before, but I was disappointed that the access to the security panel had not been cleared. Plus there was a line of snow in front of the storage units. I accidentally left my unit "locked open". It was noticed by staff, who put an additional lock on the unit to alert me the next time I went in. But my unit was completely unlocked all that time, and I didn't realize it. No one called me. My phone number and email are on file. My alarm card was never set up properly. When I open my unit, the alarm with sound. I heard the alarm siren sounding many times while I was in the office and in the storage area, but it didn't seem too illicit any response from anyone. The main door, which is supposed to be accessible with the security card, was completely unlocked when I moved in and when I visited yesterday. There's not much use of a fancy security system if it's not being used properly OR even gives the impression to customers that the facility is not secure.SHANE T. | Overall Experience

At a time when things were quite stressful Tara and her crew helped to make things as smooth and stress free as possible. The storage area was spotlessly clean and excessive. I needed to rent a uhaul van and truck on two different occasions and Tara made that happen for me even though one of the rentals was at a different city. She reserved and had it ready for me. While staff was friendly overall, we were a bit disappointed in the fact that an original reservation for S. Willow St location wasn't honored, and forced us here where we needed to rent two units to get the same space as the original reservation which costs more to us on a monthly basis. Also, being given units on the second floor on the other side of the building to unload a 26' foot truck while passing unit after unit on the main floor close to the unloading bay that were also available, increased our disappointment even further.Scott H. | First Impressions
