The vehicle had less than the required 3/8 tank gas, door did not close completely, no plastic guard on dolly, was charged rental fee for that, vehicle made odd sounds as if transmission was slipping, gears shifted independently from drive to 3rd without lever being engaged, charged an additional $30 for unknown fees.Lisa H.

They lost the key for over an hour and 20 minutes. It had fallen out in the attendance car and they made me wait at the back of the line even though I've already been there and checked in. Then the truck seat would not adjust. The wheel with shake and could barely turn. This is one of the worst rental experiences I've had. They didn't even do the proper check in to mark down the odometer or the gas. They didn't do a check out either.Jesseca C.

It took an hour to get the van. I made a 6:00 reservation and it was 6:53 when I finally got into the truck. Which was irritating because I had to pay the movers to stand around for an hour on top of paying them an extra hour on the back end. The desk worker made some joke about Uhaul not being "fast food" and that they weren't "just flipping pancakes," but honestly it's entirely unacceptable to have to wait an hour for the vehicle and I didn't appreciate his comments.Lisa P.

The line took 2 hours to pickup my reserved trailer. Only one person was working, and she was nice, but very slow. She charged me for the insurance even though I told her not to, but I was so happy to be out of that line, I didn't say anything.David S.
1st of all my reservation to pick up at 1PM was cancelled. The store on Bardstown Rd said it was for a 10am pick up. NO! I selected 1PM like last time. 2nd I picked it up at 3 from the Preston Hwy store. It was ok except for the windshield inside was greasy. Then I got about 5 miles away and then the oil light came on, and the A/C was not working at all. Just heat coming out. I had to return to the Preston store. He put oil in. OK. But no Freon so he sent me to the Bardstown Rd store. They also had NO Freon. It resulted in extra gas and extra mileage. I had to drive it without A/C. I couldn't trade trucks because I had it full of 50 wheelchairs. Will got to another company next time.Byron R.

I arrived at 11.45 AM for my 12 noon pickup. I stood in lime behind 5 customers for almost an hour and a half. When i finally got service it was rude and unproffesional. I returned the trailer the next day at 11.45 AM and was told it would be checked in and an email be sent with my receipt. Instead around 5 PM I recieved a text informing me of my next day check in time , ie my rental was not completed and I was being billed for another day . I called the main number and they couldnt get an answer at the location. So I had to go back in person to get the contract closed out. Terrible service at this location. The location was to open at 9:00am - no one got there until 10:15am - there was several customers waiting. The worker who showed up did her best but Management should always make sure this situation should never happen. All people who showed deserve a complete refund. I still have my reservation which was set for a 9:00am pickup - in these busy world we live , paying customer doesn't deserve this type of service. Covid isn't the excuse in this case. My total experience was horrible. I had a reservation but was sent to several locations before getting a van. It was so upsetting that I started crying. I moved my furniture into storage until my apartment is ready July first. I really don't want to use you but my storage is with uhaul. I am still upset. If the young lady at the Bardtown, Louisville location had not called around and found me a van, I don't know what I would have done. I thank God for her. I'm still upset. This was horrible. The person who served me was very rude. I reserved a truck online and I had the numbers of the truck and he made a big deal about the key. Telling me he may have to amend my contract, when he was actually trying to give my truck to someone else. I stayed an extra 15 minutes dealing with him. The truck wasn't clean and didn't even get a discount.Antoine R.

2nd time I've reserved a truck just to show up and it not be there. Had to go with a bigger truck 26 ft and it made my moving experience 10xs harder since I couldn't maneuver into the small parking lots in both apartment complexes. It made loading and unloading worse than it needed to be.Kenneth M.

I had a horrible experience renting a uhaul from this location. The service was poor. The truck I originally requested was not available. The truck mileage was incorrect on paper given to me. I showed this to the manager Dyamond Clark. The paper read 176653.4 actual mileage was 176843.3. I was billed $185 and another charge of $91. I believe I was overcharged. My appointment was at 1000. Because there was a confusion with trucks I did get to leave the location until closer to 11am.Junyce P.

Originally reserved for mobile pickup. Thankfully we arrive a few minutes early before the store closed because the mobile pickup was not working properly. Did not recognize our location. Also, my credit card has multiple charges from U-haul, none of which are the correct amount. I have not received any correspondence regarding charges from U-haul. I'm pretty angry and will dispute via my credit card company. So, yeah, this location is shady, at best. Would not recommend to anyone.Michelle A.

Explain that you have loaders that do not know how to pack . They piled wood furniture on top of wood furniture without a blanket or anything between so all the furniture now has scratches and dents that were not there before the trip. A leg broke off a dresser now I have to repair it before I can even use it. I will have to refinish many pieces to look like it did before it left Kentucky.Margaret L.

Too much to mention. Wait, I'll try: Reservation was for 8:00 a.m. Location did not open until 10:45. Attempted to utilize my debit card for the rental. Told debit cards not acceptable. Explained that my debit card was acceptable 2 weeks prior when I rented the same type vehicle at another Uhaul location (where the desired vehicle type was unavailable). It was necessary that I go back to my home and return with a 'regular' bank credit card to complete the rental agreement. (For what it is worth, the maximum cash value for any of my (several) credit cards is approximately $7500; while my debit card cash value is $30,000.) The steering wheel of the vehicle that I was supplied was covered with paint, sticky with solvent-softened white paint. My 'regular' bank credit card was charged $50 for 3 hour's use of a vehicle that is advertised for $19.95 / day. I'm not sure what you can do to please the next customer.William R.

We rented a 20' truck that had a tire that was completely, and I do mean completely bald on one side! When the truck reached a speed of 50-55 it would shake violently. We were on back roads until a hour into the 10 hour trip and only did up to 35-40 mph, but Once we were on the interstate we realized there was an issue and called for service. Long story short, the tire had to be replaced and the service guy said this truck should of never been driven off the lot. Obviously was not inspected before renting. From the time we made the call and getting back on the road was 5 hours. Totally unacceptable!Taresha M.

The truck that I rented still had someone else's trash in it when it was picked up. I think that maybe the previous customer had done a self return and no one had verified the cleanliness of the truck. Just remember to verify the cleanliness of every truck. The movers on the Louisville end had no idea how to pack the boxes. They put all the boxes in first then told me there wasn't enough room for the furniture. They made us take the beds apart and didn't wrap a single item. The mirrors were broken and my new furniture horribly scratched. The movers on the FL end were fantastic. Very helpful. They did comment on the inappropriate manner in which the boxes were packed and the damage to the furnitureBrooke C.

The cargo space on the van was dirty, but that is the least of my concerns. The location was supposed to have my mobile pickup ready for me at 6:30 AM, but they clearly did not prepare it and I was unable to pick the van up until they opened at 9 AM. Actually it was closer to 9:30 because the workers showed up late. Myself and 3 other people waited outside while the first worker came in 20 minutes late and the second worker came in 25 minutes late. The first worker also sat in her car for 5 minutes blasting music before getting out to open the store even though she could clearly see several people waiting. At the end of all of this, I was 3 hours behind schedule with business because of the inability for your business to be run properly.Jonathan B.
I returned the cargo van two hours after I rented it. I got a call two days later wanting to know if I planned on returning it. They had the keys because I gave them to an employee working at the counter, and it was parked in their lot but still they didn't know it was returned. I will never rent from you again and if asked I would never recommend U-Haul. The lady made me feel like a criminal, like I'm a car thief. If possible I would like all my money back, even that wouldn't totally satisfy me.Robin M.

The last location i went to to get a truck the service was great. the first site i had reserved they were not working the business hours as posted. i went to another haul spot that some fellow co-workers were getting their truck and this location was closer to our job site they were unable to transfer my reservation to there site which sucked as that would have been very convenient to me as a customer. the rating above are from the last site i actually rented the equipment from. the other 2 very poor from a customers perspective.JEFF L.

When I arrived to pick up the truck, the desk agent gave me a set of keys to the wrong tuck. When I realized what happened, I advised the agent the keys were no to the vehicle (pickup truck) on the lot. It turned out the keys where for a pickup truck at another Uhaul location 7 miles away. I would either have to wait for a Uhaul employee to drive and retrieve the pickup truck, or I could go 7 miles away and get the pickup truck myself. This was inconvenient for me, as I'd come to this location based on what the online reservation had instructed me to do. The desk agents had no concern for this mistake and acted indifferent to the issue. After I drove to retrieve the truck at the other location, it had less than the half of tank of gas in it, and I was ultimately charged 7+ additional miles of usage. Poor experience, I'll look into other rental companies next time.Joel F.
