Let the customer know up front that you will be charged extra for the miles and to make sure they check the location on the map for the quickest directions to and from the location they will be driving the U-Haul to and from. Also why couldn't I drop the U-Haul off at a closer U-Haul location. I was told to bring it back to them which was extra miles added on and charged extra after the lady at Lake Ella location said just give an estimate. I feel ripped off and the truck only went up to 45miles per hour. I WILL NEVER USE U-HAUL AGAINEric H.

Everything was great until I got my emailed receipt which showed extra charges I didn't incur. I had asked for an extension within the 24 hour rental and corp gave the ok w/o extra charges but didn't note the record, and so the location wouldn't reverse the charges. Corp fixed it. Still okay but I spent an hour on it.William S.
The employees were professional and respectful. However, the vehicle I requested was NOT the vehicle I received. But it wasn't brought to my attention that the vehicles were different until AFTER I had paid for the service and was about to exit the building. The do it yourself return experience was horrible!!! I strictly followed the instructions on u-haul.com how to return the truck but each attempt was unsuccessful. I called the U-Haul number and waited over 30 minutes before a customer service agent came to the phone. I was put on hold after explaining my situation, waited another couple of minutes only to realize that the customer service agent wasn't coming back on the phone I said hello several times but no answer and eventually had to hang up. The whole return process took over 1 hour of my time because I wanted to make sure that everything was done correctly this could have been prevented had there been an immediate confirmation after the information and the pictures were submitted.ForsterAgama A.

both when i picked up the truck and dropped it off, I dealt with the same customer service person. That person started my contract when I walked in the door, not 20 minutes later after disputing the gas level. When I returned I asked to be checked out and to get a printed receipt. The same person was unwilling to give me a printed receipt or check me out. She said I will receive my receipt by email. More than 24 hours later I have still not received my receipt..I am not convinced the Uhaul app recorded my disputed gas level or pictures of the truck, I have not received an email detailing the disputed items.Russell W.

Rental van experience - excellent We got stuck in the elevator (which I later found out from my daughter has been out of service before). We carried a sofa and loveseat up 3 floors. The staff here was really non chalant about assisting with the reservation. He has motorcycle shades on, moved very very slow as if he had all day. Was unable to correctly explain fuel credit. Gave me a vehicle with less than 1/4 tank of gas and charged me a fuel fee telling me it was a credit but actually charging me in advance for gas I hadn't even used, but still ask me to bring it back on 1/4. That's stealing from me if it wasn't on 1/4 to begin with. Then telling me I'm getting a credit when your deducting from my account is a problem. A better explanation of the fuel charge should be given.Taza R.

Keep the elevators working - I love this facility and the staff are superior but having a unit on the 3rd floor and no elevator for a person with a disability to facilitate a move is asking a lot and it leaves you vulnerable for liabilities - I have been a long-time customer at this facility and I cannot say enough good about them. We never should've been given this truck when they were so many to choose from. The weatherstripping from the doors were torn away so the entire drive was incredibly noisy and uncomfortable. The transmission is either shot or needs work as it would stay in the lowest gear forever, causing the truck to drink gas at a much higher rate than necessary, and making for an additionally uncomfortable and expensive ride. The back of the truck smelled like cat urine and the cab has obviously not been properly cleaned in ages. Why were we issued this junk vehicle when they were four other newer trucks the same size that were available? We will not be back to this location but we will take the time to make reviews about Uhaul and our disappointing experience.James T.

Employees were very unfriendly...except for the older young lady that I returned the key to. Watching the other two younger Employees I noticed that they smiled and treated the white customers differently. The young man was even blocking the door talking to the white customers and fown at me as I was trying to get by to leave. The staff was quick and efficient for check in and check out, The app made it easy. The only improvement I can suggest is to have the wing mirrors adjusted properly. When I arrived to unload some belongings, the free lock they said would be in storage unit wasn’t there so I wasn’t able to unload anything. I still have a bunch of stuff in my trunk because I still need to purchase a lock. While the storage units themselves were very clean and well-maintained, the elevator broke almost every time we were attempting to either move items to or from the units. We had professional movers standing around waiting on the elevator to be fixed. We had to postpone our move-out as a result and pay movers again to get the rest of our belongings the next day. The Loomis trucks forced a delay on our move-out as well - with four of them parked in the back, we had to wait until they left to have enough room for our moving trucks to park close enough to the elevator. When asked about the Loomis trucks, neither the Uhaul employees nor the Loomis truck drivers seemed concerned about the fact that the trucks were blocking our access. Location was ideal, cost was reasonable with first month free and units and grounds were well-maintained... except for the elevator.Claude S. | Overall Experience

The facility was fine. The people I talked to were fine but they were at some remote phone bank somewhere. The actual facility never, and I mean NEVER, answered the phone and I tried every hour of the day. I have not problems or complaints with the storage unit. My issue lies with the truck rental. I originally reserved a 20 foot truck over a week in advance to be picked up in Albany, Ga on Saturday, 8/15. The reservation was to pick in Albany, and return the truck to the Uhaul located at 1580 N. Monroe Street where I had secured a storage unit. I received a call on Friday 8/14 that there were no 20 foot trucks anywhere in Albany. The lady put me on hold, came back on, and asked if I would take a 26 foot truck instead but I would have to go to another location. She said it would be for the same price and I asked twice if all the other contract conditions would apply -- meaning the truck was to be dropped off at the same Uhaul at 1580 N. Monroe Street. I was told yes both times. I accepted even though I did not need a larger vehicle. After loading the truck and unloading our furniture at the 1580 N. Monroe St. location, I proceeded to turn the truck in. However, I was then told I had to take it to the 5050 W. Tennessee St. location which was across town. When I asked about what the contract said, I was informed it would cost me a penalty to turn the truck in at 1580 N. Monroe St. and there was nothing they could do. Now, I want to be clear the young men working at 1580 N. Monroe St. could not have been more courteous and pleasant; however, I was forced to drive the truck across town. When I arrive at 5050 W. Tennessee St., I was then asked WHY I didn't just leave the truck at 1580 N. Monroe St. I explained to the man there what I was told and he said that was incorrect, that I did to need to bring the truck to another location. That was frustrating end to a long day. Again, I want to make it clear that EVERYONE I spoke with at UHaul were courteous, polite and tried to be helpful. However, I should not have had to (1) utilize a larger vehicle that I needed; and (2) go through the inconvenience of driving across town to turn in the vehicle. I will need to rent for 1 day another 20 foot truck in approximately 60 days to come back and load up our furniture. What I would ask from UHaul is that I receive some type of discount or price offset when I rent that second truck due to the circumstances described above.James K. | First Impressions
