Uhaul's corporate system allows you to reserve trucks that may not be available and does not notify you until last minute. Very inefficient, should take deposits on trucks to secure them beforehand.Zachary B.
Although the gentle at the front desk was kind, he wasn't helpful. I call to verify my storage and they advised it was ready and available however once I came to the store. I was told that Uhaul never tell Customers No. The storage was not available, I told him I spoke to someone in the store he advised that was a 1800 Customer service number they just tell people they are in the store. He call his supervisor in which she stated there was nothing they can do but put me in a storage unit across town in a neighborhood that I was advised was not a safe place to be in. Moving from one state to another is stressful enough, than to encounter another stressful situation with Uhaul once I got here just made it unbelievable. So I rented a storage unit somewhere else small size for a much cheaper price, climate control in which the service was 5 star rating. As for returning the truck back to Kanis, I was told I could leave the truck. I asks for a receipt and again the gentleman was kind yet there was glitch in the system. Had I left without the receipt it would have seem as though I never return the truck for in wasn't check in. From the very start of reserving my truck and verifying the Reservations in which they couldn't find my reservation on a couple of time although I gave the reservation number, for a representative hanging up on me, although I never raise my voice was very respectful to the young lady. If the calls are truly recorded go back and listen to every call you will see that this has truly been a nightmare in the end. So if anything asks me about my experience, I will tell them to document everything as I did yet it may not help because Uhaul never say the word no to customers even when they don't have anything available and you are left wondering what to do. Proceed with caution. Train your representatives that the word No dont work in all situations. As for me the TRUTH WOULD HAVE MADE MY EXPERIENCE MUCH BETTERARIKA D.

They told us us everything would be at this location but when we got there nothing was done..the 10 was not there so they said they would give us a 20 ft for a 10foot price ..then the dollies was not there so we has to drive 28imiles to put on the dolly it was like that all the time...we got to our location ok one day late due to my wife being really sick afew days I bed sick per Dr's orders.Jerry S.
I actually rented from a location about 1 mile from my house. Instead I received a text 24 hours ahead of my rental time telling me they had changed my location to Kanis (12.5 miles away). Since they charge â€œmileageâ€ I called the location who told me that they would not charge me mileage. However when I arrived for pick up, the clerk told me they had no way to â€œcreditâ€ me in the system and maybe I could talk to the manager when I returned the truck. (Which I chose not to do because I had been moving for 10 hours and quite frankly didn't have the energy.) I honestly felt bad for the employees at this location. The customer next to me couldn't get his card to swipe, the customer on the other side of him was using cash app but the clerk didn't know what they were doing, so the transaction had to be cancelled and started over, my truck actually was â€œmissingâ€ upon my arrival so they had to give me the one that had just come in, I was missing a furniture pad (only 5 instead of 6), etcâ€¦ It was a cluster. But I got my truck, it didn't break down and my return was fast. So I guess I can't complain.Jesse C.

The kid who was trying to be helpful was not and he accidentally dropped the trailer and it ran down the hill and collided with another trailer. More help...parked and disconnected the trailer myself. There was only one person at the office and she was doing all that she could. I waited about 15 minutes to check out. That said, overall a good experience....I like this location....good selection of trailers and equipment. The people behind the counter were wonderful to deal with. I stopped by to make the reservation in person - if was simple, and the pick up took very little time. When I returned the truck, I was surprised to be met outside, thanked, and told I'd receive an email with the final charge. That was it, a simple process made for an enjoyable experience. Be up front about your practices of charging for the equipment and the amount of money that you are placing on hold to people's account. Make sure that you simultaneously release the hold on customer' s finances when you collect the charges for the rental from their account. Don't encumber the customer's money available to them for another 3 to 5 business days because we need our available for our use. We have satisfied the terms of the agreement with you once the funds are collected for the rental and you are not entitled to encumber our money after the collection has occurred. Make sure that you explain something like this to the customer in detail before they make a rental not after the fact because you don't know their financial circumstances.James W.

Pros: The young lady who helped me, Miss Austin, was super easy to work with, and she's genuinely funny! I was in a serious time crunch, so having someone who knew what they were doing was a blessing, especially since I was not the only person in the store. The humor and overall customer service really helped to alleviate my stress level, too. A+++ Cons: The website was glitchy for the return, and I'm still not sure if everything went thru correctly. Fortunately, I ran into Miss Austin at the gas station down the road and she assured me that she would take care of it today.ANDREW G.

Don't hire drug users. Gross staff. Make them properly clean truck interiors. Truck was dirty in cab. Cargo area hadn't been properly swept out, dirty. Truck was not on full tank when I picked it up. Truck should be topped off so the next customer doesn't have to estimate during fill up. That's just lazy on uhaul's part.alan B.

After completing the online checkout process. The company changed me a 20 dollar fee and reported that I did not complete the check out routine. However, I am on camera completing the check out routine in the parking lot. After calling and reporting my concerns, the representative was very unprofessional and rude. Accusing me of lying â€œas if I tried to complete it at homeâ€. He also claimed that I received a breakdown receipt of transactions, when actually he only sent it after the call. This left a very uneasy and dissatisfied feeling about the over all professionalism of UHAUL. I will never use this location again.Darryonna D.

When we rented the Uhaul and the $10 furniture dolly, the wheels would not work on the Dolly so I had to go to a different location and rent the 4 wheel dolly. Then when we returned the Uhaul they made us return the Uhaul to one location and the extra 4 wheel dolly we rented to a different location. We had to return it to the place we rented it from. And when we returned the Uhaul the guy tried to lie and say we didn't put enough gas in the Uhaul and he was going to charge our card and extra $26.00 . I have pictures and my contract to show where the gas should be and I also took pictures before we left and when we returned the Uhaul and it actually shows we put too much gas in there. And also I called when we first rented the Uhaul and talked to Chris and told him the dolly we rented the wheels really didn't wanna work and he said they would refund my $10 rental fee for the Dolly . After I finish showing my proof that we did in fact have more gas in the UHAUL then when we picked it up the person that worked the evening shift at the Uhaul place finally agreed and said we would not be charged extra . I will be contacting my bank on Monday to dispute the charges if I am overcharged for gas in the Uhaul and if they do not refund my $10 rental fee for the broken dolly. Also once I returned the Uhaul I also advised the guy that it would not let me check the Uhaul back in on my phone something about location settings so the worker advised me to put the Uhaul key in the after hours lock box instead of checking my out .Walter J.

There were only people that were willing to help customers outside even if they were trying to call the automated call cycle would be on because imaybe they are two hours or an hour from smoke break and they put out the cigarette to run in and you pull up into a handicap spot because my hang tag showed inside my truck but no one came to the back until I had asked a young African American to move the other truck to as well because we were trying to get as much as possible out my storage and that young man helped to move every piece carefully as possible so as not too make much movement because somehow things had shifted and I knew who used my code only me unless given access by me but I had to be there to physically put it in by night or day…which is why I chose your largest outside unit @management…Mr Chris…I was your client in the full size unit that held the most furniture because of CoVid I was immediately released to go home to NLR because I lived in town about 30 minutes from campus I packed what I could until Augustnand I moved completely with your biggest truck and a one way reservation to Little Rock but we got there late at night but I knew my instructions really well..and the lock I bought at the Uhaul @ pickup of truck somehow didn’t get put o one no more than the 2nd evening I was notified that there was no lock on my unit and truly there was a busted blue lock left open & hanging on barely to all my precious so I hoped everything was okay and carefully put a new lock on… and it’s still in my truck from that day to this and Mr Chris I know you read poor or good reviews this one is bitter sweet because I lived the 25 access when I learned immediately to follow the assigned path cause 24 clearance I support the payment and you keep the film footage and if you roll them back to the Wednesday before thanksgiving a young man by the lady name of “Chisholm” assisted me and the ladies sat inside never came out to see what was going on nor did they answer the phone as I drove all the way to my storage because my brother in law was frustrated because of a disability( veteran tags disabled due to back he couldn’t go back and forth because he waited for me and came to the truck and I stopped at the kiosk as they’d told him and I peered thru the glass quickly to see one person being assisted which was a white lady getting immediate assistance and one black guy who saw me looking in and felt uncomfortable 🥴 as he turned away his glance…so I bloated my horn because I knew it was a holiday and it was two young ladies at the desk who’d look or listen to the phone and not attend to anything or anyone outside those doors black or white make nor female….which one younger and very cute woman a little chunky but was very kind because she saw all of my broken pieces of antique furniture broken and busted laying on the ground and also I taped everything I didn’t submit it because my heat had gone out in my home and I was displaced so I was fighting my health because of a second major knee surgery torn meniscus…and as I lay in the bed I’m trying not to cry anymore over the loss of furniture that can’t be replaced be cause I so carefully moved and wrapped everything I could in Russellville as my younger brother 6’4 at least 309 prior to CoVid 29 status which he caught almost twice because he’s a very hard worker but suffered from undiagnosed sleep apnea , back log that killed so many as they waited in line with the VA to get their treatment for back that got thrown out because you’d fear nothing to jump out of a plane and hit the ground running if your bands of men by blood 🩸 or not and you took an oath as I do now as well every time I testify as a expert witness I mute the phone and let the courts no my status in advance because the knee pain started as I started to climb stairs slower in beautiful town home had to be locked up with the beautiful new furniture I hand picked with care and had it expertly delivered at one hundred dollars 💵 to get my 1st check because I couldn’t drive back and fourth physically at the time because my body could t take the one hour and 15 to thirty minutes as long as you’re flowing with the traffic toward ATU WITHOUT POLICE / and many other variables controlled by Mother Nature and not just the police and yes I’m African American woman and very proud of my full faculty status that I was asked to come to ATU for a meeting with the Rehabilitation board that I still sit on but the coordinator is much older and yet remains a very proud Air Force veteran that retired as full director at Ft roots and met me by addjunt status on line because my program is to help people like me fat tall small wheelchair or barely walking we all need a little help but don’t make wait to respond because the woman that helped me makes me cry because she has a pure heart but not complexion because I know the pain watching those with addictions and how they suffer and yet we still turn a blind eye ..not I held a storage unit with this facility for about four years. I paid on time. As time went on the facility began to go down hill. They removed the main gate to the storage units, thus providing less security. Many of the other tenants were delinquent on payments. Uhaul staff started loitering about the facility at odd hours appearing to be sketchy. Finally my unit was burglarized and the thieves covered their tracks by putting their own lock on my unit. It was methodical and planned, giving the appearance of being an inside job. Don't leave your stuff here. Only problem I had with U-Haul was there was no grace period for payments. A late fee was assessed immediately. I understand sometimes I was a couple weeks late and I understand the late fee in that instance, but when I was only a day late I was assessed a $30 late fee and that's hard when someone lives paycheck to paycheck.Barbara S. | Overall Experience

Your GM is a racist. She was very rude to me and she refuse to respond to my emails or ones from my family. I paid you all for about three years, and when i was hospitalized for emergency surgery, my daughter asked for a possible ext. Dhe even had a letter from my doctor. Your female GM said, I don't care if she is sick. She has to pay. My daughter never said she would pay, only asked for a few days after the 3rd. The employees were very friendly and helpful, but the facilities seemed to have many issues. A lot of interior lights were burned out on multiple occasions when we visited, the gate to access the storage building area was always open when we visited, we noticed rat poison laying around, multiple units near my own had cards on the door that said they had mold growing inside and remained that way the entirety of the time I had my unit, and the insulation on the ceiling in my unit was falling apart so badly that all of my items had to be cleaned off upon removal. I had a free one month storage as a bonus for renting from Uhaul which in itself was a plus. The staff went above and beyond in networking for me to help sell the fridge I was storing, saving me storage fees. I am very grateful to them for their efforts and time. My only complaint is that the outdoor access storage unit I reserved online was not actually available when I arrived. There were indoor and larger units available, just not what I asked for or what was confirmed online. The storage unit I ended up with was $30 more per month, which will add up over time. I was told that the U-Haul website confirmation doesn't necessarily mean anything for the local U-haul businesses. I've had this problem before where the right hand doesn't know (or care) what the left hand is doing. The local folks did try to accommodate my exist request, but it would have meant going to a different branch/facility, one further away from my residence.
