When I walked into the store I waited for about ten minutes for other customers and your rep Megan was anything other than helpful. There was no greeting, no thank you, more or less commands telling me what to do. Her face was expressionless and made the place feel very cold. I pulled up to my trailer and was meet by a man, can’t remember his name, to get my trailer. Again, I say meet, because he offered no greeting and truthfully connected the trailer to my truck with no words other than “we need to check the lights, can you turn the signals on?” When I returned the equipment Brian was there under the canopy but just stared at me while he ate some breakfast sandwich or donut and watch me disconnect the trailer completely before saying hi and asking me my name. I don not want to rent from you or that store again; however, it is the closest one to anything trailer related. Also, the trailer was dirty with what looked like exhaust fumes and mud.

The location was great, but the truck was terrible. Front end, tires or something was out of balance. The 26' truck drank gas like an alcoholic on a binge. We also rented the same size Penske diesel and the fuel cost was $225 compared to $470.

Used the app as I have before, at pickup I was prompted to verify my identity with a passport or other means. My vehicle was ready but I had to go inside for the keys and was not acknowledged by staff for close to 15 minutes before I finally interrupted a transaction with customer. Add to that, I paid Over $60 for a $20 truck. Too much money and hassle to move a grill.

Dawn Salisbury, at the desk, and Ron, whom was in the lot, are exemplary employees whom both epitomize customer service. Dawn was beyond helpful and kind with assisting me with first a trailer rental and then changing it to a truck rental as I realized I didn't have the proper receiver for a hitch. Granted, this was about an hour before closing. Mr. Ron was ever so helpful as well explaining that Uhaul could, at my convenience, provide hitch installation which I didn't know your company provided. But it's definitely a service I'm going to take advantage of to facilitate a trailer rental in the future. Because of Dawn and Ron's exemplary attention to customer service, I plan on making this Uhaul location my "go to" spot!

This was the most inadequate, inept, and utterly hopeless example of poor leadership and training I've ever witnessed. Trucks were being rented that were not there, trucks without fuel, one person at the counter and 8-10 people in line at all times. Trucks were dirty and had to be cleaned before they could be taken from lot. I was over 90 minutes to rent a 12' trailer that ad been reserved in advance. Ive been in business for thirty years, this example wins the crown for HOW NOT to operate a business.

The van needed an oil change soon. They told us it was full tank yet we put in $8 for 11 miles! It went over the full mark when we got it it was right on the full mark. Yet no refund for gas.! My husband used the bathroom and he told me it was disgusting! Very dirty!!!

Your customer service is awful. I had to call several times to confirm my reservation, was put on hold for an extremely long time and than my call was dropped, told that I would get a call back and did not, and 4 times I was given a specific window of time for drop off or pick up and then given a completely different time by someone else. The service was confusing to say the least. I am extremely unhappy with my service and I would not recommend uhaul to anyone for their moving needs.

Honestly the people were great but this email I received after, I’m confused about. It said I owed additional fees? Then I received another saying that they were sending me back some money on my card. I think everything is straightened out now, but I’d like to inform you all of what has happened. The pick up easy , truck felt like it was going to fall apart but it worked well enough for the job. Not sure why I couldnt have a newer truck. The return after hours was HORRIBLE. The instructions on the receipt do not match automated phone instructions. It took forever, and it was not as easy as 1,2,3 in fact , the return was more like 1 to 989.564777777 Only reccomend to a friend because of location.

Truck was released to me with NO OIL in the engine. Truck seized up and threw a rod. Thankfully this was at the end of my rental. I called for roadside assistance and someone named Brandon was sent out to assist me. He was AWESOME!!! He knew right away what the issue was, went to get oil to hopefully remedy the situation and then when it was not driving without stalling he drove the truck back to the center and let them know what the issue was. He then asked them to discount my rental for the trouble I experienced. The center did that without issue. I am a female and was alone. I am thankful that Brandon was sent out to help me as I knew he was not going to leave me sitting there without resolution. Promote the guy!! Or at least give him a raise. He was that good and very responsible. As to the location I rented from...never again. The women behind the counter were friendly enough but I had to go outside alone and inspect the truck, upload photos of pre-existing damage before I could leave. The app for reporting that info wouldn't stay logged in long enough for me to load up all of the damage photos. I ended up video taping the inspection. Seriously, there should have been an employee in the yard doing that inspection with me and notating what WE found. Then we wanted to leave with the truck to start our move and we were blocked in by another truck that had not been rented out yet. My daughter went to ask an employee if he could move the other truck. He was washing a truck window. He said "I guess so" and continued washing the window! Sorry. My time is valuable too and I'm now on the clock for my rental agreement. He should have moved that truck immediately and let me get on with my day. I have NEVER had such a poor experience with Uhaul and will never rent from this company again. Funny, twice before I've rented from the Uhaul at Coyote Lakes and had absolutely NO issues whatsoever. So I think it's just at this location. I will be reviewing this location online as well. Whomever gets this review today I hope will seriously take a look at the center I rented from and make some changes. WHO would let a renter take out a truck that has no oil in it? That was just plain irresponsible and unsafe. Luckily I ended up with a great roadside assistance person.

We attempted to do everything online, showed up and found the truck parked all the way in the front. Then had to go all the way to the back to get the keys. Then back to the front, where the truck did not have the furniture pads and dolly I rented for the move, and were given the wrong keys. Had to go into customer service, and wait another 20 minutes in line, and then watch as the workers were confused as to why we had the wrong keys, and where were the right keys. The right keys were on the board under needing maintenance. After looking in the computer, nothing was found, so we were handed the keys and on our way. Still no pads or dolly, they came out and gave them to us, and we had to carry it all to the front of the area. Finally got loaded, and in our way about an hour and a half from our pick up time.

Make sure vehicle is full of fuel and just showing full when giving to customer. In my case the gage showed full but move from that mark within the first 4 miles. When refueled for return vehicle took twice as much fuel for the miles driven. Manager refused to credit the overcharged amount so I guess I loss. So I guess so bring it back full policy sucks. My recommendation to future renters is figure out how much fuel should be consumed for the miles driven and replace only that amount. By calculations uhaul owes me $10.00 for the overcharge.

About 3 feet of upper rubber bumper inside the trailer was hanging loose. The bumpers are really needed to keep the furniture from rubbing the sides of the trailer. This should have been reattached or repaired prior to me receiving the trailer. Allison, the clerk that did my paperwork, was very good.

The first thing is the trailer the I had reserved was not there when I went to get it, I was told they would call me as soon as it came in. I was never called, went in Monday morning got the trailer, complained about how I was treated and they gave me $50 credit. When I asked about my time sitting around waiting for a call that never came, I was told that that would have to an acceptable loss on my end.

when I rented the pick up the contract stated that it had only 378 Miles when I got inside the truck I noticed that it had 411.7 mi so I went back into the store and a attendant named Brittany Hansen road on my contract that it had 411 miles and that it would be corrected when I returned the vehicle when I return the vehicle it was noted that I had driven 68 miles when actually I had only driven about 33 miles they charge me for the 68 miles even though Brittany had corrected my contract and I also had noted it on my Internet contract when I took possession of the truck. There's about a $20 difference which may not sound like much but to me it means a lot. I called U-Haul immediately upon receiving my receipt. The young lady there's told me that she would have management get in touch with me right away. To this point I have not heard from U-Haul on Bell road where I rented the pickup truck. I would like my credit issued to my credit card. I am a long-time customer of U-Haul many many years and I've always appreciated the fine service that I've gotten but I'm disappointed in what is happening currently with my contract. on top of that I turn the paperwork over to them so they could see Britney signature and they kept my paperwork so now I have nothing to show that I am correct other then my wife who I noted with her that it had 411 miles versus the 378 and when I returned the truck a man named Craig signed it in and explain to him what happened and he said let's go inside and get this taken care of which we did and they assured me that this would be credited to my account properly which it has not been. I would appreciate you taking care of this matter as soon as possible. Thank you for reading

The express checkout online was not worth it, at least in my experience. I didn't have to wait long to get to the counter but once I was there it took about 20 minutes for them to find my order and finalize everything. I'm sure it would have been faster just to start the ordering process at the counter. but other than that I had a good experience.

She couldn't find my order & entered all my info which I had done on line. After I had loaded I got a call. I had been given the wrong truck. Back to Surprise to change trucks. started check-in At 9:00 AM got reloaded @ 1:30 pm. WOW would you be happy?

They couldn’t locate our truck for over 20 minutes. When they found it there was body damage that they had to repair. It took us an hour to get on the road due to the delays. Overall condition of the outside of the truck was poor. The brakes squealed every time they were applied. The air bag warning light would not turn off. The steering wheel would not hold true and had to be turned at an angle to go straight. The roof in grandma’s attic leaked rain water onto several boxes. The gas gauge did not work properly, example: when filling up with half a tank showing on the fuel gauge it took 20 gallons of gas and the gauge did not go to the full level (the paperwork said it only has a 26 gallon tank ). There was a lot of driver side outside air noise due to a leaky door seal. We averaged 6 miles/gallon for the 26’ truck. It had over 165,000 miles on it and either needs major reconditioning or to be for local trips only. We did a one way 700 mile rental and thankfully didn’t have any breakdown trouble. In almost 40 years of using U- Haul this was my worst experience. On a good note, Megan when we picked it up was good to work with, and Rebecca when we turned it In was awesome!

Make sure the equipment is functioning properly. The interior lights in the cab and box did not work making night packing impossible and cost me time. I also did not get all my moving blankets costing me time and still paid for something I didn't get. It also took almost an hour to get truck from the original location.

Truck selected had an issue with a broken fill cap on the gas tank. Both the mechanic and myself did not figure out what the problem was before I took the truck, but I figured it out the next morning and took it back. Staff was very helpful; we encountered a 3 hour delay, but I was satisfied with what they did.

It took some time to get the truck because they had to check from 3 different persons if it was the "real" me. The rest was okay, the truck clean and ran smooth as silk 1400 miles in 24 hours, stopping only to fill the tank. The representative told me if I have any complaints, give UHaul some other employees name. Verify all charges before customer leaves . I had a question before I left, so I went inside . Three people waiting. So I returned outside to the associate. When I asked to see bill. He looked at his phone asking why ? He stated it’s $35 because of tax and all charges. Never brought bill up. I trusted him until I got home and compared pictures I took. The mileage was three miles off. I have the picture of the dashboard reading 11082. The paperwork said 11079.. The biggest customer service would be honestly and trust. You lost my trust when you mislead me on the mileage. So from know on I must myself take pictures as I did today. And bring inconsistencies up to you. Gary Honey

First 5x8 trailer was an accident waiting to happen. The representative began to hook the trailer to my truck. I took photos of the entire trailer because as an Insurance guy, you never trust the photos the company takes, especially when they can’t present the time and date stamp of their photo. Also the guy installing the trailer is never around when you return the trailer. As I did my walk around, I noticed the tires, inside damaged/split wood and license plate error. Left tire was so bald it might as well be an inter-tube. Then the trailer had a Florida license plate on it from 2012. 2012, I couldn’t believe it. Normally their they have fleet tags but not this one. What gets me is how was that missed for 7 years. Just another reason why I take pictures. What if I was pulled over? Probably wouldn’t be a fun conversation. So, the Representative said they would need to speak to the manager to see if his was acceptable. I said, “ok, but I’m not taking the trailer regardless of the manager decision but I’ll play the game.” Representative returned and said the manager decided that due to the license plate they would swap it.. The left bald tire wasn’t, apparently wasn’t a concern. Whatever, they made the right decision anyways. I was unhooked and moved to the next trailer, which was overall, an good condition. Of course I photographed everything and looked on the roof. I then asked about the roof.....there was no indication of roof damage on the paperwork and the Representative said there was no roof damage. I had the Representative look at the roof to see the massive hail damage that I “the customer” discovered. So within 10 minutes, I was able to identify two trailers that were poorly maintained between the numerous statewide uHaul locations, improperly licensed, damaged inside sides, improperly documented on prior damage and given to other costumers creating a liability situation. Since I already documented the prior damage, other than the roof hail damage, the second trailer was ready to go. I know I’ll use uHaul and this facility again. It’s a very convient location for me. Regardless of the condition of the trailers, I know uHaul is in the business for transport. Things happen. My point for this is that, if a costumer is reading this, do yourself a favor and protect yourself. I purchased the insurance but majority of customers don’t and these prior damages that are not documented could cost customers out of pocket expense for something they had no ownership of or it was mother-nature’s doing. Besides me taking photos, my front and rear dashcam recorded the entire experience.

You gave away my truck that I had a reservation for! I was late meeting my movers because you had to find me a truck and then gave me one off the 'service' hook! It literally sounded like nails on a chalkboard everytime we stopped. What is the point of a reservation when you're not going to follow them? Carlos, Beth, Megan, young man who does returns - ALL have been more than helpful and do their best for customers. Really seem to enjoy their work and try to get you thru the cumbersome rental process as fast as possible. Highly recommend. Problem tho with national call center saying equipment is available there when it sometimes isn’t. Always check first to save yourself a wait in line. Twice had to go elsewhere. But that is HQ problem, not this local shop.

I've rented from the Surprise store several times in the past, and my experiences have always been excellent. Very nice, well mannered employees there. My experience today was excellent, as well. Now I realize this is NOT a review of the Prescott, AZ store, where I returned the trailer. However, I just have to tell someone this: I've lived in Prescott for 15 years, been to the Prescott store many times, and it is one of the worst stores I know of. My experience today was the topper. FYI, the Prescott store has a very small parking lot in front of the store, which also serves as the Return area. THERE IS NO WAY TO PULL THROUGH. Not knowing how I would return the car hauler to the designated area, and be able to get out of the lot, I decided to take it to the large storage in the rear of the store. I've actually been asked in the past if I would drive my trailer returns down there. So, I pull up to a stop, whereupon I hear "can I help you sir?". I looked over and the voice was coming from a U-haul employee, in a company pickup. That employee's name is Michael Kelton. I told him that I was there tor return the trailer, and he said "you're supposed to return it to the Return area (back up in front of the store), but I'LL SEE if I can help you". He didn't smile, he wasn't nice, and he is NOT anyone you should have representing your company. I'll drive out of my way, to another store from now on. Thanks for listening

My charges are wrong. When I checked in, I pointed out I had both the van and the dolly for less than 24 hours. The estimate indicated I would have dolly for two days. I was assured it would be taken care of. It wasn't. I returned the dolly in 15 hours. I expect the amended bill and charge to my credit card to reflect that. I'm sure you can fix that TODAY.

As you read this, know that the people have been nice, but generally ineffective ... bottom line, U-Haul is clearly too successful for its own good. Mine is about A COMEDY, now TRAGEDY OF ERRORS and MISSED COMMUNICATIONS OR the Lord only knows ??? I drive a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van and as a senior have been frustrated by having to off-load our bikes in order to access the area behind the third row of seats. So I decided that installing a hitch and rack that allowed access while the bikes are mounted on rack was our best direction. That noted, we reviewed our options and chose U-Haul because of its nation wide network of dealerships. In retrospect it turned out to be a prophetic decision because what follows is a saga of missed communications that have now extended over a three state area ... and is approaching a month of failed communications. On March 24th, I arranged to have an inch and a quarter hitch installed while visiting friends at Sun City, AZ. The installation was to take place at the U-Haul facility at 13440 W Bell Road Surprise, AZ at 7 A.M. Monday March 25th. I choose an inch and a quarter hitch without brake light and other accessories because I wanted to be able to tell the next owner of the car that nothing it was only for bikes and that nothing had been towed. While waiting for the install to take place I spoke with Carlos Mendoza (the manager that day???) about my interest and asked about suggestions for a bike rack only to find that U-Haul sells them. He was kind enough to review the various options with me. So I added a two tray style bike rack to my purchase with Carlos’ promise that they would put it together for free. In retrospect it should be noted that the gentleman assembling the bike rack admitted that it was his first attempt at putting this kind together. When the car was ready, I saw that a two inch hitch had been installed instead of the inch and a quarter model that I had ordered. So rather then put the tray style bike rack on the hitch, I put it in the back of the car and drove off to an appointment I had to make. Later in the day with the help of friend we set the two bike tray into the hitch to assess its usefulness. Fortunately the two tray rack did have an adapter to make it fit a 2 inch hitch so I put it on the car as directed. Only to find that there was a good deal of play in the mount when loaded. I then tried out a variety of bike racks that my friend owned with the same loosey goosey results. By then it was dark and my patience was gone. First thing the next morning, March 26th, I returned the bike rack to Carlos at the Surprise U-Haul noting my discomfort with it. Latter in the day (we had now moved onto the Carlsbad, CA area, I made arrangements by phone to switch out the 2 inch hitch for one and a quarter inch one. We agreed to have it installed later that week near our son’s Carlsbad home in Oceanside, CA. A day or two later I was told that the inch and a quarte

My containers were delivered screwed and bolted shut and noone offered to fix the problem. I was told to use my own tools. I had to call a relative for help because I dont own tools. I'm still going through a fiasco of being charged the storage fee for my containers when they've already been delivered. Then I was charged on top of that for the delivery. My name had been red-flagged by Uhaul for something that happened in 2010. I was told to call a number and talk to a representative. The first lady I talked to was very unfriendly and unwilling to help. All she would tell me was to pay someone else's fee or make a police report. Since this was all I could do, I filed a police report. When I called back, I talked to Beverly- who was amazing. She took the time to look into the issue and realized that a typo had occurred, and in 2010, a drivers license number had been entered wrong, which the wrong number just happens to be my current DL number. Beverly was helpful, considerate, and willing to investigate the issue. Based on the advice of the first lady- and her complete unwillingness to help, I filed a false police report. I am not amused by that.

We used the ride share program and we specifically requested our truck at 7 AM. We got there and the truck was not assigned to us. We waited for an hour and a half to get the truck. We had movers at our house that had to wait. We tried calling the 1-800 number that the app told us to call and stayed on the phone for 35 mins while the lady proceeded to tell us that WE were late to pick it up. Definitely NOT the case. We flagged down someone at 8:15 AM that we saw walking inside the store part of the location and asked him for help. The assistant manager was also there. They couldn't find which lock box our keys were in. No apologies, no nothing. They acted like this was the way that things always operated at this location and that things just don't always work out as they were scheduled to work! This put my husband and I in a HUGE bind with our movers and trying to move a 4 bedroom house in one day. We missed out on 2 hours of moving time when all was said and done. My parents use this location often, so maybe it was just a fluke incident, but I was very disappointed. To top it all off, we were charged TWO service fees and some random fee that we knew nothing about, making us overcharged about $65! We are now dealing with that to get it straightened out. I feel like this whole experience was a disaster from the very beginning to the very end.

When I went to pick up the truck they were very slow and didn't seem to care about getting customers waited on in a timely fashion. When I went to pick up the dolly and place my van on the dolly, they were again very slow and didn't have the dolly in the yard. We had to drive to a second location and that dolly's strap pully didn't work so another dolly had to be brought up. The gentleman who helped me with the dolly and placing the van on the dolly was very helpful and assisted me until it was completed. To gain assistance in getting my van on the dolly, you charged me $20. I found that to be excessive and upsetting. This is a service that should be provided considering the cost you charge for trucks and dollies.

The U-Box I rented was "misplaced" in Santa Rosa, California, After two weeks, the U-Box was "found" in storage at the Santa Rosa U-Haul facility and arrived in Surprise, Arizona 10 days late.

The people here were very helpful. I am concerned about my 10x10 climate controlled space temperature. It is the on 3rd floor. It was very warm and almost hot. Concerned for my stuff in storage.
