The staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the trailer was installed improperly - the ball wasn't captured by the hitch and so the trailer came loose and hit my truck while still in the uhaul parking lot the first time i braked. I was told an insurance claim was entered for me and I was to leave on my vacation (after a delay to deal with issue). i have not seen the insurance claim copy i was promised would be mailed to me to fix my truck bumper. please have the owner call me. thank you! Brian Woodnorth 414-801-5008. in addition the trailer had damage that i reported last time i rented and damaged my motorcycle last time - it wasn't fixed and so I fixed it this time before leaving the lot. why have us report pre existing trailer damage if uhaul does not intend to fix it???BRIAN W.

I had initially booked a truck from the Germantown location, only to get an email saying that I would have to drive down to Good Hope, which was inconvenient. Not sure why the Germantown location did not have a truck, but regardless... according to the website this location was supposed to be mobile pick up only on Sundays, but I arrived to find that the doors were actually open and people were working, so I assumed that pick up would be much quicker, but sadly that was not the case. There was only one person at the front counter and she was taking her sweet time. I only had two people in line in front of me and it took about 25'mins to just to get to the counter. Meanwhile, there were only two other workers helping her get trucks ready, and they moved slow as molasses, as if they had no purpose and that the customers would just have to wait. It was 45 minutes after my appointed pick up time that they finally pulled the truck around, and I had been told I would have to have the truck back by the original 6 hour deadline. I would've assumed that it since it took them 45 minutes to get the truck ready that my six hour time slot would have shifted along with it....that would have been the thoughtful and fair thing to do. Needless to say I will never rent anything from this location again.CHRISTOPHER M.

The facility messed up when it came to parking my vehicle. They had me parked in a reserved spot. Asking me to move the vehicle I said I couldn't unless it was towed and I am not paying another tow to move it to a different spot. The employee told me to park the car there and that is what I did. I was given a truck with about a quarter tank of gas for a rental from Milwaukee to Evanston, IL. I had no idea how big the tank was or the MPG (info that Home Depot gives you when you rent their trucks) , so I filled it up, at a cost of $80. I ended up leaving the truck with 3/4 of a tank. No credit was given, though I would have been charged $5.50 per gallon had I not returned the truck with sufficient fuel. Feels like I got robbed. A credit should have been offered!JOSLYN H.

A lot of the dashboard light kept coming on while I was driving, including the brake light and battery light. I was nervous thinking the vehicle battery would die and the truck wouldn't stop. I needed the truck for extra hours and was charged for an extra 24 hours but I couldn't keep the truck for 24 hours!SHONDREA H.

It took forever to check in. I stood at the counter for at least 15 minutes before I could get keys to the storage unit. The storage unit rented to me was too small for the 26 foot U-Haul truck that I also rented from U-Haul. There was trash everywhere. I was supposed to get a trailer hitch installed on my car and tow a 5x8 trailer with my belongings. They called me at 7am on the Saturday of my appointment to tell me that they did not have the parts to install (just a few days before I was supposed to move). So, we had to come up with a alternative plan to rent a truck and tow my car behind it. This cost me about an extra $1,000. All that was offered to me was a $50 credit which I am not sure I even received. I understand supply chain issues going on right now, but it would have been nice to know weeks in advance that I would have to shell out an extra $1,000. I will never be using U-Haul ever again.Sean S.

The left lights on the trailer did not work. And, what's worse is the location you have indicated was our SECOND location. The location we were schedule to pick-up at was CLOSED. We waited one hour and then called the 1-800 number and waited over 30 minutes on hold until someone answered. They said they didn't know the location would be closed today, the day of our scheduled pick-up. Wow. We had to drive around and find a location and tell the customer service representative the address of the new location. Not the best way to start off the day when you're trying to load up for a move across the country.THOMAS M.

Actually have a truck available when and where you say it will be. Fix the app so it Actually works. Make wait times on the phone less than 35 minutes: how about less than 5 minutes!!@ you suck. The location needs to be a little bit more organized (e.g., where to go when you come to the location, and where to pick up a truck and where to return it). Also, the office itself seem to be a little messy (why was there a pile of stuff on the way to the front desk (in. the middle))? Finally, the truck itself was clean and satisfactorily-prepared (utility dolly and sheets where available for use), the front desk's receptionist were patient but they need to have a better attitude. I understand that work pressure sometimes get to us - especially in jobs that require meeting crowds - but having a mediocre or bad attitude won't make it easier for anybody.SALAH A.

I moved my items from this storage unit over a year ago and paid fees owed then as the final payment. Two months later they claim I wasn't moved out but I was because they told me something was there but I know it wasn't and the last time I was there I told them I was moving then and they said fine just take the lock with me which I did after clearing out.... This was over a year ago and yet they keeping saying I owe money for a unit I am not occupying. My mother told them I had nothing in the unit and I have told them this as well. For the most part the experience was okay. My issues were not consistent enough to give a "No" response to some of the above questions even though if there was a rating scale of 1 - 5, this location would be in the middle or lower. There was some kind of water leak into the indoor unit that I had that soaked the lower stacked boxes. The boxes then collapsed under the weight of the boxes on top and some thing got crushed. Clothing ended up having mold in them. All of the boxes on the floor were stuck to the floor and things that were wood had water damage. Dealing with the staff was a crap shoot. In person I've never had a problem. Especially in leaving the facility for the last time. That gentleman was VERY helpful. Any conversation over the phone was met with hostility.
