I reserved a 6'X12' Open trailer without tailgate. When I arrived to pick it up, the trailer had a tailgate, which created serious wind resistance at highway speeds. Furthermore, the trailer was not able to receive my load, which was 60" wide, due to a restriction in the rear of the trailer. I drove 720 miles round trip and came home empty-handed. We were told upon making our reservation that if we had to extend our rental that it wouldn't be a problem. The employees at this location threatened to report the truck stolen and told us that they would charge us double, because they could've rented it to someone else. If rental was a concern, we were renting it and paying for additional insurance. I've never had such a terrible experience while renting a Uhaul. The ignorance and lack of professionalism by the employees of this location is astounding. I will be sure to tell everyone I know.ERIN S.

This is the only U-Haul service I've ever used so it's hard for me to write a comparison however I did rent a truck as well as an appliance dolly but still had to deal with the smaller Dolly being strapped in and taking up space in the back of the truck it was very inconvenient and took up valuable space. I could not get rid of it even though I had already upgraded the dolly that I was using. I found this very frustrating and it should be improved for future customersKERRIE S.

I moved from Covington, LA to Folsom, LA. Proir to this reservation in Slidell, well in advance, I made a reservation in Covington for a truck for 3 days. Without a phone call, my reservation was canceled just a couple of days before my move. I realized this by an email i received from Uhaul. I suppose i was lucky to get the Uhaul i got for 2 days instead of 3 and 30 miles one way from my starting point in Covington. My new residence was in the opposite direction. I had to also settle for a smaller truck which caused me to have to make more trips. The old address and new address were a 20 minute drive apart. These facts caused my miles to rack up far greater than i originally anticipated with my initial reservation. Picking the truck up in Covington alone would have saved me roughly 60 miles, then the multiple trips back and forth, i lose count. My total uhaul cost was literally hundreds of dollars more than it would have been if my first reservation would have worked out. The people at the Slidell location were really nice, but the manager said there was really nothing he could do to help the extra cost and dropped reservation situation. The people i spoke with on the phone about it prior to my pickup were of little help.CHRISTINA B.

The original van I had rented turned out to be not available day before I needed it. Got a pickup truck and trailer instead. That morning of pickup I spent an hour and 30 min on the phone with U-Haul in order to pick up my truck. The rental would not show up in my account and it was before store hours, supposed to be a mobile pickup. Awful experience and not the first from this location.Sean M.

Reserved a 26 ft truck for 1030 /5 Nov 2021, on Tuesday Told reserved truck was unavailable, can give you a 20 ft truck 4 Nov Had to wait on truck to get there Now have to birrow friend's pickup truck to get the things that didn't fit on smaller truck. How would you rate yourself? BTW, have self moved in the Marine Corps more than 7 times, so I do know how to fill up a truck with a tight, balanced load.CHRISTOPHER K.

We were given a truck with a flat tire. We asked for a different unit and was told there wasn't another one available. We asked for a manager and was told he was on vacation. You can't tell me you don't have a manager on duty at all times. I called the Uhaul road side service and they said they would call me back in 30 minutes and was informed that there wasn't going to have a service truck out to us for 90 minutes, which we were already finished loading the truck and this is after I held on the phone line for 90 minutes to speak to someone. Needless to say your staff was rude and of no help, we had to drive to Lafayette on an inside flat tire. I will NEVER use UHAUL AGAIN. EDWARD HYNES THERESE MENDEZEDWARD H.

The lady who helped me was extremely good. She was very personable, knowledgeable and so willing to help. My pickup date was Saturday October 16, 2021 at 11:00. Please recognize her with these comments. The first truck I was assigned, had an error code and the field guy didn't seem know what the code was nor did he care. I went back in and the wonderful desk clerk was so concerned, she assigned me a different truck. She changed the equipment with ease and promptness. She is such a wonderful representation and a huge compliment to your team.DIANA K.

I reserved a small u-haul over a month in advance. On pickup day they told me they only had the largest one available. They were extremely rude and said well someone should have called you so this is all we have. No one called or emailed me letting me know or else I would have picked up from another location. Employee was not professional. I called and asked for trucks in two sizes and was told they didn't have any. I called a little while later and talked to the call center who said they had a truck that would fit me. After telling her what the employee told me she said that they had a truck 2 ft longer. The employee should have recommended that from the start and would have saved me time. When I got there he was very short. The truck had a very strong cigarette smell which was displeasing. I would not recommend uhaul if this was the experience every time.JAMES H.

I was not told about how if I returned the truck after closing how I needed to have my cell phone with me and be proficient with the internet . I had to take multiple pictures and upload them Most distressful was I did have location services on , which I did but the site wasn't picking it up - Therefore , it wouldn't close out the contract . I had to call a friend over to the site for help . I had to forward the site to them and get assistance to close out contract . So I can ONLY imagine an elderly person you doesn't have the skill to get this done and the trouble it would be. The client needs to be warned that the need to be able to do this technically over the phone and be able to navigate issues on the internet . I don't think that is fair to the client . You can't ASSUME everyone cam do this . I have a masters degree and still had problems . So last of education was not my issue . But even myself had to call for help .ROBERT Q.
