All employees should understand the basics of driving the trucks so that customers can pull out of the parking lot. Managers should clearly let their employees know a van has to be in M2 drive mode or it won't go above 30. The typical person who doesn't regularly drive vans/trucks won't know this. The employees on that day didn't know it either. By the 3rd truck and 45 min late to my destination â€œIâ€ figured it out around 4 miles from the location while simply fiddling in frustration that I couldn't get above 30 mph. It was no fault of the young workers and all fault to management who must've poorly trained them. This was a basic flick of a button that should be clearly explained to a customer. They kept sticking me in new vehicles so clearly they didn't know of it either.Melissa B.

I merely dropped the truck off and reported the damage of the vehicle that was rented to me. Not only could this vehicle have broken down because of its condition, but it could have caused a horrible accident resulting in loss of property and possibly life. To begin, I booked, paid and checked in online to pick up from the Macdill location. Then, on my house closing day I get a call that now I need to pickup at the Causeway location. I live across from Robinson High School. Had to complain and demand compensation, got extra miles and a discount. That's great now it's just inconvenient. Then later that day about 5pm, get a call that Causeway does not have our truck so now we are going to Gandy location and a larger truck. Obviously not entirely bothered by this. BUT, I did set everything up so I would not have to speak with anyone, checking in online, paying ahead to guarantee a truck and determine which pickup and drop off worked best with my schedule. Now let's to to moving day and Gandy, Judith was a train wreck to one of the most stressful/exciting days of our lives. She needs to pretend to care or find another path in life. She gave less then minimal effort to help when we couldn't get the ushare nonsense to load on our phones and kept telling us to go inside. I understand everyone wants to brush away customers with everything we can now do ourselves online but when online fails she should enjoy the interaction before more jobs are cut due to streamlining. The new girl behind the counter next to Judith continued to give me looks and roll her eyes multiple times. That is extremely unprofessional. The only savior was Richard, he was running around, bringing trucks, working the computer while multitasking other customers in line. But I wasn't lucky enough to get him. I won't be back to this location and honestly a couple of us unimportant customers were talking in the parking lot while waiting about how awful this location is and how we avoid it. That's not a great reputation. It's not enough that all the construction is going on, not your fault, but at least try to make the inside experience a reason that we should come back.Sean H.

I would recommend they get their own insurance, which U Haul requires. At first, I had the U Haul insurance. There was a roof leak and a bunch of my stuff got ruined. This was on a Sunday.. When I tried to make a claim with RepWest, U Haul's insurance carrier, they would not pay me because there were no photos of the damage. At the time of the damage, when I went to the clerk in the office, she didn't know what to do and suggested I wait and speak with the manager the following day--he didn't know what to do either. I rented the storage unit 2 weeks ago, I'm already having major issues since day 1. I called for the 3rd time today, the customer service representative laughed at me. I find that extremely unprofessional, I am not sure what they look for in the employees. During these uncertain times, with unemployment being so high I am sure there are better applicants to hire.
