I was SOOOO frustrated with the check out experience through the app upon my pick up that I almost just left without taking the truck. The customer service rep took forever to respond and get me checked out. I was standing in the rain getting drenched. Finally I just went and sat in my own car for several minutes until they made me resend my DL photos and selfie as well as another person's contact info to verify who I am before she would let me get the keys to the rental. I will never use the app again and have already reached out to Penske for my next truck rental I need tomorrow. You lost me as a customer and I am going to share my terrible experience with yelp, google and all over the social sites so others know how bad you treat your customers.

Tell customer the U box will require a personal lock. Tell customer ahead of time that it may take a week to deliver the U-box so customer can plan accordingly and not realize at the last minute.

The only disconnect that we observed was our home location communicating to our new home location they're seem to be a minor bit of confusion about our stuff. But overall it was delivered just fine except for one box had some broken glasses in it.

Not enough staff, I booked on line, appointment was a week into the future, I was called on a Sunday to reschedule my appointment that was set for Tuesday night indicating a part wouldn’t be in. I asked when it would come in and was told Tuesday. After checking my schedule for a good alternate installation date I called back and was told I was still scheduled for Tuesday. When I showed up Tuesday night...no part. Took another day off work but have a hitch now!

The people at the counter were great, it's just that there were not nearly enough if them. I stood in line a little over 1/2 hour ... just to drop off the trailer I had rented. Someone needs to look at how to better handle peak demands.

The pickup was full of cigarette smoke from a prior use. My husband had an asthma attack from it and spent much of the day taking medicine and trying to recover. I could smell it from over 20 feet away when he opened the door. It was clearly in the cabin filter and no one seemed to care. When we returned he told the young lady about it and she left him with the impression she couldn't care less. I feel we should be compensated for his suffering due to the negligence of the location. Vehicles need to be properly maintained to avoid issues like this. It could have caused us a visit to the hospital had he not had his breather readily available. Charge the person who smoked in it for the complete filter change and cleaning. Do not spray with a "Smell" eliminator because it does not work on the cabin filter and may add to the problems. We rent regularly (Jan and Mar this year already) and found the attitude today to be totally unacceptable. Since we frequent social media do not be surprised to see our comments on it in the near future.

Had a 10:30 reservation & showed up at 10:10. There was a line to the door, at least ten people. They went in order of the line - not sure why they didn’t have a rep designated to honoring reservation times - people hire movers and babysitters on their moving days and don’t always have the time/money to hang out an extra thirty minutes. I sent my husband and two young children home because I didn’t want them to have to wait so long. A man in front of me had a 10am reservation and got to the front at 10:30 - I got to the front of the line at 10:50. I check in with a nice girl named Naomee and they don’t have the 15’ truck on the lot I reserved a week prior. No phone call. No notice. I literally waited an hour in line to be told they didn’t have my reservation ready. They told me there was one available at a nearby location...that’s great except I sent my husband - and vehicle - home. They don’t have anyone bring a vehicle to you when they make a mistake - they expect you to drive out of your way to get it. I explain my situation to the representive who asks her manager...I think his name was James - what options we had. The manager did not address me or apologize for the situation. He said (to Naomee) I could go to the Foster location, leave and be refunded my money, or take a smaller 10’ truck or cargo van. I just wanted to be able to leave, so I opted for the 10’ truck. Again, no apology from the manager. I overheard the reps discussing a reservation guarantee, so I looked it up on my phone and asked about it - it was not offered to me directly, but Naomee did get it applied to my account once I brought it up. I have nothing but praise for Naomee and this review is not a complaint against her - I think she should get a lot of credit for having to handle that type of difficult customer situation caused by her company’s lack of organization. Once I actually got into the truck everything was smooth sailing. Jonathan, who checked me in at the equipment return, was also very friendly.

First of all I got dropped off at the mcloughlin location and had made my reservation on June 4th for the 14th. I had to wait 15 minutes plus and then was told my rental was at a different location. I then had to get picked back up and dropped off with the location that had the rental for me. I spoke to customer service on the phone and they gave me another number to call about the situation and then they told me to talk to the manager at the pickup location. There was no manager onsite.. I had been called with confirmation I believe on the 12th in which they just confirmed my pickup time and nothing else. They had not told me that my pickup would not be at the location in which I had reserved to pick it up at. Not only did I have to get picked back up from the first location, I had to get dropped off at the 2nd location, then after using the uhaul i had to find transportation as well, i also incurred for gas and mileage fees do to uhauls mess up. I have only been told there is nothing we can do and no compensation or apapology from the two locations. I'm more than dissatisfied and disappointed with the customer service and situation I had to deal with yet this whole mess made my day an hour longer in which I had to return the truck after hours and spend another 20 minutes plus download the return application for my phone.

This experience turned out to be a surprisingly good way to move. I was able, through the U-Haul web site, to select movers at both the packing and unpacking end to get my containers quickly and safely loaded and unloaded. A very economical and successful experience!

It took me 45 minutes to check in/return the truck! Could access the website. Then finally accessed it ONLY to be told that I didn’t have an account, even though I had a reservation on the same e-mail address. After talking to 2 agents on the phone, I was able to access my reservation & return the truck.? WHAT A HASSLE!!!

When i came i to the location there was a few people in the store the store seemed understaffed and it seemex that the employees didnt really have any motivation to assist they issued on truck the fuel was about 1/8 of a tank less then what the told me the employee issued me another truck it was 1/4 of a tank less then what they said it should of been so i just gave up and left with the truck so my trip was very dissapointing but hey they is not alot of choices of rental truck

Service was rough. Yes, hiring millennials is a great practice- but please train them better! The first call I made to schedule was so frustrating that I went in person to the Gresham location. There, the millennial at the counter also did not have the ability to tell me which locations were available for pick up or drop off, or to help me compare a one way vs. a round trip quote. Again, please train your staff to be helpful and not infuriating. They love to talk but cannot listen. They also asked that I provide a time within the day that I was coming to pick up and when I was coming back, and then badgered me by phone after I said I was probably going to need the whole day. The more mature afternoon staff at the Clackamas location were way more helpful. Please improve your employees' ability to be of service and to listen more carefully - improve your training and customer service!

Upon returning my uhaul, I was told the miles coming in are less than the miles they had when going out. The supervisor came to the conclusion that someone made a typo when checking the vehicle back in the last time. I had to calculate how many miles I drove round trip. I had my husband and kids waiting in my personal car while the employees were trying to figure out how the miles deducted when I returned the rental. I do not appreciate having to wait that long while I had my family in the car waiting. This was my first time renting from uhaul, I've used other rental companies in the past and after this experience I may just continue taking my business elsewhere.

This was my first time renting a U-haul but I had a great experience. The employees at U-haul were really friendly and they got me my truck really quickly. The whole process was great! I would definitely recommend this location for anyone looking to rent a U-haul.

We waited in line almost 30 minutes when finally an employee asked if anyone in line was dropping off a vehicle. We handed the keys over and left. The cost was misleading with signs stating only $19,95 per day and then after mileage it was closer to $94. I appreciate when companies are more straightforward.

Your computer system is greatly lacking .My information had to be entered three different times. When I called for information on the length of the rental time I could not get it from central booking unless they took all my info. Other then that the equipment was excellent and all went well.

Johnathan is such a nice person! Great customer service, he really goes above and beyond, all while being mindful of all customer needs! You really have some great employees at this location!! There was another super nice gentleman but I didn’t grab his name unfortunately. And a sweet young man who recognized me waiting at the counter, and apologized he wasn’t able to help due to his position (I was already being helped;). That was above and beyond too! Great job here, very busy place, super courteous staff giving every single customer time and attention! Glad to see these guys care and don’t hate their jobs;) must be the work environment. Kuddos to the staff here. Kindness does go a long way. Thanks guys!!

More accuracy. The wrong drivers license was scanned into my account from a previous rental, causing a later start than planned. The wrong truck was rented to me, resulting in a mixup on my bill and causing me to initially be overcharged, as well as a lengthy return process. If I had not caught the error, the excess charge would have remained. I may look to other companies for future rentals. This issue is not with just one location...

I did not receive the correct parts recommended from first attendant earlier in the week. When I picked up my reservation it was also wrong. The guy on Sunday went above and beyond to fix the order and when my car's towing system didnt work he got me into a truck, no issue, also refunding me for parts I didn't need. I appreciated his attention to detail and service.
