The good: Yard staff was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The bad: Counter staff seemed disinterested and distracted. Trailer was in need of work. Pick-up process INCREDIBLY SLOW AND CUMBERSOME. People with pick-up appointments waiting 45 min plus for service from friendly but under-staffed, slow-moving and over-worked staff. Pick-up should be 5 min at most: a Drivers License, a Credit Card and hand over the keys. The rest of the bureaucracy should be automatic, not long, tedious manual entry while the customer line grows. Saturday mornings should be OVER-STAFFED, not skeleton. Two people were working the desk and a huge lineup of customers. I had to wait in line for an hour before getting to the front of the line. Then the outside crew could not find the unit I rented although it was sitting right by the front of the building. Employee should be making it clear every couple of minutes. Guys in the yard had so many keys to deal with and customer had to go find them to get keys from them. I had to wait for an e-alert to be lifted for about 45 minutes l, and as it turned out, it was an event at which another location was at fault and I had been reimbursed. 50 minutes in line to pick up the trailer, which put me almost an hour into my scheduled time, had to put down a deposi since I was using debit. Good selection, very busy location, lots of availability. Understaffed with little concern for customer service. I waited over an hour in line on check in. Waited over 45 minutes to return the unit and in that time saw nobody even though I asked the front desk to call a yard guy to return my trailer to. Ended up using the web return (which I don't trust having issues with it in the past) just so I could leave. Hopefully it works out, they didn't send a completion email. I wish uhaul would raise their prices $5 a day across the board so they could afford to treat their staff better, then maybe they would treat the customers better.Daniel E.

Reservation was for 12:00, stood in line of frustrated humans for 2 hours to learn the 4x7 trailer is actually a 3.3 ft trailer, then informed there are no other trailers and ALSO there would be no refund. Many employees running around "doing stuff" but not assisting customers to get their units and get on the road. The only level of competency I witnessed was the yard guys who were taking the heat for the incompetence at the desk. No apologies or acknowledgement for the inconveniences or wait, and no sympathy for the inaccurate sizing on the trailer. I will NEVER use this location again, NEVER.Amber S.

The worst Uhaul experience I received . I was not only 2 and half hours late for my move that required me to re arrange movers and forfeit my elevator time but I had to spend another hour just to stand in line again and receive my deposit. In addition, I arranged a truck and waiting two and half hours to be told there is no more trucks and I waited further till they were able to locate one . I was provided with the phone number to the location for any issues. The windshield wiper fell off the vehicle as I was driving home from the location. When I got home, I called the number and was on hold for 45 minutes before giving up. I needed to get my move done as I only rented for 4 hours. I tried to reattach the wiper myself. As it was raining hard, it was very inconvenient and dangerous to drive with a broken wiper. When I returned the truck, no one seemed concerned with this problem. The attendant said he would get someone to call me back, but I haven't heard from anyone yet. This is terrible customer service.Lori M.
Employees are using the dock spot to park their cars. By the time I arrived to load my truck, all the spots had cars parked. Therefore, I asked the employee on-site if it was possible to ask the owners to remove the car to allow me to load the truck. He just said to me "I am sorry, it's not possible." Soon after I saw him getting in the car that was parked at the spot for loading/ unloading trucks. Shame on him! Those spots are supposed to be available for loading or unloading trucks, aren't they???? But, unfortunately, it has been used for employees to park their cars and, the customer, well...RICARDO C.

I reserved a 26' truck for 6:30am on Sunday, May 23 which I booked with an agent from this location. I live an hour away from this location and when I showed up to pick up my vehicle it was completely blocked in by other uhaul trucks and was unable to take it until they opened at 9am. I called the help line and unfortunately everything was booked and there was no other trucks of that size available in the city. I waited there for 2-1/2hrs in my car and because they were doing road construction nearby there was no parking for a couple block radius. I left my car and proceeded to walk back to this location at 845am and there was a lineup of 10 people and my truck that had been designated to me that morning was now driving off even before they had opened because an employee moved some trucks. I now had to wait 45mins in a line up and didn't end up leaving until 10am. This 3.5hr delay had all my moving help waiting the whole time and ended up having to work extremely late to complete my move. I was polite but received no apology for this inconvenience.Jeff H.

I uploaded my drivers license online and then did the online checkin and had to upload it again and then the totals checkin took another 20+ min at the counter. When you make a reservation, have the rental there and ready for the customer!! I waited in line for an hour an 15 minutes only to be told that they didn't have the equipment I reserved at that location. I had only a short time period for my rental and this wasted 2 of the six hours I had booked. I'm incredibly disappointed and it's unacceptable. You need to buy some proper chairs for your counter staff. It was really sad to see this poor girl barely able to see over the counter and really straining to type on the computer. I just couldn't imagine making my staff stand there all day or just provide them with highly substandard chairs. Upon renting my unit and being assured move in was complete, I attempted to access my unit within my access time. Sadly, I was denied. I spent the next hour on the phone outside of my prospective locker trying to gain access, but nobody was able to help. I was told to return the next day during office hours. The following day I returned to the store, where they issued me a swipe card and assured me I would have no issues moving forward. Which was great, until I showed up last night in desperate need of accessing my items in storage. Again, my pass code didn't work, nor did my swipe card. Luckily a kind gentleman let me in the building, where I went quickly to my unit and unlocked it to discover THE UNITS AREN'T EVEN ALARMED! DEALING WITH UHAUL has been the most useless experience ever! Not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars I've had to pay due to their broken promises again and again. Kristen was amazing in checking me in on time. She was super helpful as she made sure my swipe card worked for self storage as I was having trouble with it at check in. She was super friendly and cared about completing my check in so I could have my hired movers get started right away without wasting any time. There was another tall gentleman(don’t remember his name) inside the self storage facility as well who was super friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding storage and our container. Worst experience at Meridian Barlow trail. On top of that I still received an invoice after the fact that I had check out from my free one way moved a month ago. I check with U haul why I am being charge and they couldn’t figure out why I am still being charge. They can see my account has been closed a while back. The front sliding doors weren’t unlocked on time and the garage doors often weren’t unlocked by mid morning. Found ourselves constantly going to the office to get things taken care of. Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. Your rental vehicle has demands I do not need at a regular rental agency. Even after having stored and paid on time my rent for my storage unit for almost a year and a half, your employee refused to honour my rental reservation made online after not providing her with more then 2 numbers to contact me. It took months to resolve a minor issue because the location's manager didn't notate an agreement he and I made. It ended up making it difficult for anyone to assist me because they couldn't act on word of mouth. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of miscommunication, and misunderstandings throughout. When I knew that we weren't going to make it in prior to closing, I phoned the storage facility to discuss options. I was informed on the phone that my father could check me in early, collect our pass and after hours access code, and that we could arrive and unload after hours. Upon arrival, my father was told this wasn't the case and we'd have to return the following morning. Had the information been communicated over the phone when we called, we would've altered our plans accordingly. The following morning, my reservation couldn't be retrieved. Apparently the system wasn't able to locate any reservations using confirmation numbers, and we needed to set up a new reservation. Once checked in, the facility is well maintained, and the process fairly straight forward.Adam S. | First Impressions

I was promised a drive up storage unit on my initial call. They put me at the far end of the building which added 3hours to the move, so far, and probably another 3 hours on the way out. The guy at the front said he would give me 24 hour access but the swipe cards did not work. When we saw the storage, we knew it would be difficult to fit the 26’ trucks belongings into it, so the we told the Afterhours lady and her suggestion was to “pack better”. We had to stack items do we could climb because I’m not 12’ tall. The $10 lock they threw in does not make up for the nonsense that I endured. If there was any other option, I would be using it. I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100%. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20%. Your average is 60%.
