Everything has to go through a general manager, if he's not there then they cannot help you. Empower your frontline workers to make decisions or develop an algorithm or rules of engagement to use with the customer. It makes them look incompetent and it is not an efficient way to do business. 24/7 option at drop off didn't work. Had an error everytime I tried to up upload the pics. And customer service waiting time was more than 30 min. Had to leave the truck at the parking lot of the location and come back the next day to returned properly. Thank God I had an extra day to return it. My big rig gets 6 miles to the gallon with 43000 pounds the 15 foot truck was driven not loaded to 1/2 capacity for 17 miles and 20 miles empty and the truck used over 8 gallons! That's less than 4 miles to the gallon. Terrible!!!Sterling R.
Originally had a truck reservation for 5/29 at 3 pm at a different location and was supposed to be contacted by Uhaul the day prior for verification. Didn't hear a thing, and when we stopped by the location to check, they had no reservation, no truck. So we went to this location, and they were not able to give us anything until the next morning. Ray and his staff were very friendly and helpful any time we had any questions. The facility was very clean and easily accessible. Our door was a little difficult to roll up and down but all in all the facility was very nice. Not on this visit but on a previous visit and use of a 15 footer, the steering was loose and a little difficult to keep going straight. I did not exceed 50 mile an hour due to the trucks steering would allow the truck to "walk" from one lane to another. In heavy traffic, I slowed down to around 35/40 mph of which hampered the flow of traffic. I did report this information to the rental office upon returning the truck.GEORGE W.

Their sign directing the public on where to return rental equipment was turned in the wrong direction. It directed people to the side of the building, not under the canopy in front of the building. After I asked one of the UHaul employees, he directed me to the front, so I had to back up the big rental truck and moved it to the canopy. Employee quickly checked it in, but they told me I would have to talk to UHaul customer service about the wipers I had to replace.Guillermo C.
Everything was fine til I got a call the next morning asking where the truck was. Qe had returned it after a few hours of getting it. The rep forgot to close it out. The call I got was very rude and the guy said he would call back and never did. Dont know if he was having a bad day or what but I did nothing to warrant him being rude with me.vicki B.
Battery died in the truck and I had to jump start it. Thankfully had another vehicle and cables but would not recommend. Also had an issue with the increase in cost for dropping off the vehicle during non working hours. Should be options for drop off like it was advertised without an increased rate. Just utilized U-haul service earlier this year and did not have these issues but will be looking for other options the next time I move.SEAN S.
How about better customer service when entering. I felt like a bother to everybody, except for this young man, R. Reese whom I came to return the rental to. He actually asked if everything went okay. We went over the little bit of paper work. He made sure things were correct. As I was leaving I saw that he started sweeping out the U-haul even though I only used it to transport a single glass top table so I know there was really nothing there to sweep but the fact that he did it anyway made me smile. He went above and beyond and made me feel appreciated. Great worker!Ashley C.

I rented a 15 ft truck for 1 day to move about 3.5 miles away, thinking I could do it in one trip. I soon realized I had severely underestimated every aspect of the move from helpers to mileage to how long I'd need the truck. I called the general number & was able to re rent the truck till 11 the next morning. At 11AM, I called the store & plead for 1 more hour, which they graciously granted. When I arrived at 12:20, the employees were very understanding and DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE ME FOR THE EXTRA DAY! I definitely recommend U-haul! My experience was positive from pick up to drop off and every aspect in between!SHirley W.

Make sure the tires are in good condition, all the lights work and repairs are made to damaged fenders. The first tow dolly had holes in the fender and the left running light didn't work so we switched to a different one. We had to go back 2 town dollies because the next in line had a problem. The one we took had a flat after a few hours.amy M.

I reserved equipment ahead of time 24 hours before, only to be told it's not available 20 minutes before arrival... Very disappointing when moving to a new city, and very difficult to overcome. I had to settle for a smaller truck and will now have to make another trip.... rediculous when reservation was already confirmed online the day prior. I got a smaller truck, but had to pay the same price...and they could not explain why.... It would be great if reservations made were kept by the company. They sure are quick to charge when the vehicle was returned with only SLIGHTLY less gas.Alexander W.

I am so upset with this location. I called to let them know the lock was not opening one of the gentleman was like maybe your not doing it right pull harder and so rude. Then he was like if you bring it and we open it we are charging you more, not caring that I had to call in for this inconvenience. These people need better customer service training. talking with everyone, that was pleasant, but man, I tell you what, records were all messed up, the guy who returned the trailer never recorded it, so I was called today asking why the trailer wasn't in. He had to go outside and check for himself which should've been done first before calling me. The guy who returned it should've done his job by entering it into the system yesterday, less than an hour after getting it. Customer service for my e-alert was ok, but the person didn't remove the alert from my name. Just seems like everyone around isn't really doing their job, my kids can do better with attention to detail. These guys don't make much and it's looking like why. I expect more from a veteran friendly workplaceSteven N.
The cost was very reasonable and the vehicle was clean and in good shape. However, the pickup truck that I rented did not have a step up to the drivers door making it almost impossible for someone on the shorter side to get inside the vehicle. It was more than a little inconvenient. I ended up taking some small steps with me which I unfortunately left in the bed of the truck when I turned it in. I thought for sure they would be found since the vehicles are supposed to be inspected upon rental and return. I went back to the rental location twice but they could not locate them. I left my name and mobile number but never heard back from anyone. Of course it was my fault for leaving them but I was disappointed that they were not recovered. Overall, it was not a very positive experience for me.Jan P.
PRO: There was a very friendly, helpful lot attendant. CON: My self-checkout rental was located behind the building, found only after seeking assistance, defeating purpose of mobile checkout. CORPORATE CON: The mobile checkout app needs improvement: 1) Users can only initiate checkout process when on the premises, but; 2) the lengthy process requires users to take a selfie, scan their license, and enter personal and billing information, and; 3) only informs users during the process that they need to provide either a personal contact, passport info, company name/phone, or one other thing, and; 4) if you provide a personal contact they will attempt to call that person-- you don't merely provide the info and go, and; 5) if that contact does not answer, the process becomes worse, involving live chat with a customer rep, who tells you have to provide yet another contact, and 6) if you enter a company contact, someone also needs to answer the work phone or the process halts. You eventually have to go inside and go through the entire process with a store rep. Even If the mobile process does go smoothly, you still have to go inside the store to get your vehicle key, and wait your turn in line.Andrew G.

Tow w/2019 Hyundai Tucson 2.4 l 4 cylinder w/cvt transmission; 2in drop 2in ball. Excellent tow with full load. Recommend u-haul for standardized eq. & low prices. I would clarify conditions for 24 hour drop-off of equipment at receiving location as a part of the rental briefing. All u-haul staff at both my locations were outstanding--professional and friendly. Great people and service. Unfortunately, I lost my house and income and eventually had to leave Texas to move in with relatives. This meant that I had to abandon every thing. Management patiently waited for many months to see if I could recover financially, but that was not to be. Great service! I had contact with three employees including Ray, the owner. Each of them was fantastic to deal with, and this has not always been the case at other locations. I witnessed Ray coaching one employee who appeared to be new, and I was really impressed with his patience and professionalism, as well as the professionalism of all the other staff members I came into contact with. The facility and equipment were all very clean and well maintained. I don't know Ray personally and this is my first time visiting this store (I am new to San Antonio) but I have managed retail businesses for the last 20 years and I believe in giving credit where it is due (especially when negative feedback is usually all you get). That said...great team, great store! Thanks for making my Saturday furniture pickup a seamless success!Shaun F.
