It was New Years Day. Counter help was busy and I was 3rd in line. The U-Haul associate said no need to wait in line and that he would check my trailer in but never did. Seemed reasonable, however I got a call 2 days later from the local U-Haul place asking where the trailer was at. Called National U-Haul help line to clear things up because the local drop off place put me on hold for 30 minutes and never picked back up.John K.

The Truck keys were hanging on the Action Needed hook. Rather than assigning a different truck, the employee said the computer said that it should be good to go. It wasn't. Also, watched a different employee back a truck into another truck while parking it. Just seems that the location lacks a level of detail that would create a professional environment.BRETT RYAN B.

My husband left his phone in the truck when we dropped it off after hours and had returned the key. So we awoke early the next morning and called the store but only the call center was taking calls so my husband drove over to the store where he found an employee checking in the vehicle. When returning the equipment (truck) signs are posted wait in truck. Usually everyone is busy so why you have people just sitting there waiting. And I do everything online its all paid for so I don't need to go inside but your sign confused me. Other then that all went well and the person working she was really nice.MICHAEL DANIEL F.
I had a bad experience with U-Haul overall and it ended with this location. Due to an equipment shortage, a phone rep had to have me go to two locations (Dubuque and Cedar Rapids) to get the truck and trailer. This was known at reservation time and so it was reasonable. I was glad to at least get equipment as Budget had forcibly cancelled my other rental due to a supposed equipment shortage. At the Cedar Rapids location for the trailer pick up, the U-Haul facility changed and they told me the new pick up location would honor a $50 discount. They did not and they also charged me higher rates than what I reserved online, $119 instead of $60 for the trailer. Terrible moving experience all around, across all locations and companies and it felt like I was being robbed at every turn.JOSHUA A.

Your Plainfield location needs some major work on there customer service. I tried to call and talk to someone about an issue I was having with returning the truck and the girl on the phone decided mid conversation to transfer my call without telling me so one minute I'm trying to explain the situation next minute I'm on hold for another ten minutes just for some guy who works in Arizona to answer the phone. The uhaul truck I rented broke down on me when my entire trip was less than 60 miles. It took 3 hours for uhaul to send a tow truck and I was still charged for not refilling the gas tank even though the vehicle was literally undriveable. The young lady, Hanva ( ? spelling) helped me with my rental was delightful to talk to. I walked in last minute an despely needed a truck not only to move my contents but because rain would have made them unused so I was kind of frantic, not to mention where I was picking them up from was closing within the hour. So my time from walking in to driving out with a perfect new truck (450 miles on it) was about 9 minutes, professionalisim at it finest with that touch of warm friendly service.
