Staff spent way too much time chatting to one another about personal issues - indigestion etc - than attending to customers waiting to be served. Another issue, have your staff attend to customers needing propane refills instead of telling them they are only walk-ins and have to wait until the reservation customers are done. That philosophy will turn customers away as it did me.

Have the stuff ready when I come to pick it up. We should not have to spend over an hour waiting for a trailer to be hooked up when the pickup time is already set. Also, it's so hard to get in contact with them. They do not answer the phones ever. Never using Uhaul again.

I was charged an additional amount on my card without being told how much the amount was and if that's how I wanted to pay. Then the owner couldn't explain/give me the breakdown for that amount. Eventually he gave me $6.00 back because he couldn't figure out what it was for.

The staff was new and struggled through the check in process. Their customer service skills were poor at best. It took over an hour to checkin due to the lack of knowledge. Everything I had put in the system when I made the reservation had to be put back in. After an extremely long move I was hoping to have everything run smoothly, your team did not make that happen.

Employees should have more knowledge of how to navigate the systems software. I spent over an hour at the front desk to receive the keys for the U-haul truck and to receive my access card for the storage unit. Training should definitely be held more often to make customers experience more efficient.

This was rented under my name and it was not me. My personal old information was listed on the receipt like my old address and old phone number with current email address. Who it was used their own credit card. But none the less, an employee listed the rental under my account and I wasn't the one who rented anything. I called and an employee told me it's ok cause my card wasn't used. But I didn't see anything okay with my information being posted on the receipts.

Couldn't pick up that night so we had to go back in the morning to get key. Truck wasn't on full and after all of that we didn't use it for the event and took it back the same day. I was charged for things I didn't even use and it was a horrible experience. I've been using Uhaul all these years but I'm wondering if I will return.

Rented a 15' box truck. The truck ran ok, inside was fairly clean. AC did not work at all, truck was slam empty of refrigerant. My father in law had the same issue a week before.

I had three bad things that happen. The first one was not at the above address. It was rented from the off-site in Suffolk Va on 460. It was a trailer rental to carry my jeep. They gave me the wrong straps to tie the vehicle to the trailer and I almost lost my jeep and they still charge me for the rental of the trailer. The other two rentals were trucks. Both trucks didn't have Ac. Which I was charged for. So I felt like they should have met me halfway on all three rentals. Was told I would but never happen. So strike three you are out me. I will let people known what happen to me so maybe it what happen to them. Your company uses to a good company but something went wrong. Hope in the further you can retrain and fix the problems. Thanks .

Your customer service to reserve were rude. Our first pick up the equipment didn't work and we had to do all the leg work to find a new one. Over an hour spent on the phone. We reserved our rental months prior and all we got was attitude and told we had to go to Portsmouth or Newport News to get another one during rush hour traffic. No help what so ever from Uhaul for their equipment not working

We also purchased a rental storage . I spent almost an hour on the phone with my mom physically at the location trying to get it set up because We knew that We wouldn't make it to the location u til after hours . We get to the location after driving from De with my 83 year old aunt after 7 to be denied access to our storage unit because the gentlemen's did not activate the card🤦🏽‍♀️. We spent 40 mins on the phone with some one on the after hours line to have her ultimately say there was nothing she could do about the storage nit. So happen my daughter located the card and cell phone number for the general message. I. Recommend equipping personal on after hour call phone to better assist not k on my for just the rental truck but storage. Provide the contact info for the local General manager or she have a way to contact them and or forward message. After spending about an hour and then getting in we after locating the gm contact number and then getting in. We were able to drop my aunt off and rice back to Chester Va . For someone that uses uhaul to move often and thestorage this did not leave a good experience .

Despite my reservation with no Safe Tow insurance and indication that 12 pads would cost $5, the receipt I was given - with no review by the clerk (they were actually having a private conversation via a Bluetooth earpiece during my entire check in) my invoice included a $25 charge for the insurance I didn't ask for and $20 vice $5 for the pads. As I was already on the road when I discovered these errors, I sent an electronic note to the provider via the app with these discrepancies. I would like to have the additional $40 in charges removed from my bill. ¡Gracias!

The same experience we had at the pick up location, we had at the drop off location. The staff was not friendly at all!!! No people skills. He basically looked at us and said “are you returning”? We answered yes. He took the key and went to the truck, looked at the cargo area, the cabin area, the gas and mileage and was done. Didn't ask us anything else.

Rude employees. Disorganized business. Had to hunt down my rented pads and carts. No official system to this. "Just take what you find" Crowded lot, hard to maneuver cars and trucks. Online system was highly inefficient. Only asked to provide all our personal info once we were there to get the truck. Should have been done when renting the truck online. Took 45 min just to pick up our truck we had already organized online a week prior. Should have been a 10 min process to go get the truck. All in all, every system in place was a shit show. The only saving grace here was the condition of the truck and equipment.

The straps were cut so they wouldn't fit around the car tires. I picked up the trailer at 1030 am and had requested 12 hours. I returned the trailer at 8pm the same day . They closed at 7 pm. They charged me for two days!

We made reservations over the phone over two months prior to relocating from Florida to Virginia. When we finally arrived with a huge 26ft uhaul and a car being towed, they told us there are no units available. You can imagine the panic we felt that moment. Apparently uhaul (corporate) will overbook things but the units themselves are "first come first serve" at this location. Having said that, the staff accommodated us rather quickly and ended up finding a unit that just emptied out which was perfect for our things. Their customer service was fantastic and the people working there are very accommodating and work hard. Can't say enough good things about this location. Hopefully uhaul corporate can correct this booking issue. Overall very satisfied with my experience after it was all said and done.

The location was fine, but scheduling was terrible. I got a storage shed at Bromley and ask for the truck from there and was assigned to Airline. I paid for and additional 24 miles because of where I had to pick up the truck.

I walked in to rent a utility cargo trailer (uncovered) and when I walked in, the man behind the counter said they didn't have any trailers available. I had checked online before I showed up and they were available online. I walked back to my truck, reserved the trailer online and went back in less than 5 minutes after and picked up the reservation. I'm not sure what changed in those 5 minutes, but it seems as if the employee simply could not be bothered to take the time to help me as a customer.

I've have previously used this location and the service was excellent. When I arrived on 05/31/2021, the agent played on his phone until his coworker said, “He can help you”. He literally sat throughout the entire check-in process. I presumed my reserved blankets and dolly were loaded onto the truck as before. Nope! I had to come back into the store, only to pick up my own dolly and find out that the store only had 11 furniture pads when I ordered 24. When he finally got my blankets into the truck, he took my dolly, told me someone else may need it, and told me to unlock the dolly on the truck. Fortunately, customer service was helpful in issuing a refund. The agent I called on Wednesday was also helpful in extending my reservation. I hope the service I received was an isolated incident. The after-hours return process was actually easier than I expected. It was quite convenient not to have to wake up early and fight morning traffic to return my truck. The AC in the truck did not work. Hopefully it was repaired for the next customer.

The bottom of the storage door has a metal little lip to it and it should have a cover of some sorts, i sliced my ankle using that part to push down on the door.
