The first location (Sinclair Motor sports) was not friendly at all. They did not want to give me the truck keys. I was there at 9:00am and they said they only open at 10:00am. After phoning Uhaul, they sent me to another location (13554 84 Ave) and these people were very nice. I lost one hour and it made me very upset.DANIEL S.
The truck was leaking from inside. All the water was falling on the back of driver seat and made all my clothes wet. Light in the back cabin was not working either.Amritpal S.
Sadly, I don't think much can be done from a business standpoint. The location is run by what seems to be an Indo-Canadian family. Very nice people but some of them have limited English skills. So when I am asking for simple things like a 'receipt' it's a challenge. It's been 1 1/2 days since I returned the truck and I still don't have a receipt. They keep saying they sent it to my e-mail , yet when I ask them to confirm my e-mail , they stare at me blankly. It was the same when the clerk tried to send a text to my phone with a link to do the truck inspection. It took repeated attempts which just leads to customer frustration.David H.

Got the van that was recently washedâ€¦ all the water with the detergent or something was still thereâ€¦ also, it was smelling very bad inside .. had to roll down both the windows to survive.. got all the bags and some other moving stuff wet soakedâ€¦ tried calling for any other option but nobody picked up the call and had to move in the same messed up vanâ€¦. My family has rented vans and trucks from this location for many years but our experience this time was very negative. The rep we dealt with ( Sandeep Randhawa ) is not a good person to be dealing with people. I noticed him talking down to us and other customers in the office , borderline rude. He and his helper appeared unorganized and as a result he seemed to take his own frustrations out on the customers. It never used to be this way at the location. I am 62 years old and during all my years in the industry, we would give a customer a vehicle with a full tank of gas and explain that they need to return it full. Sandeep gave me a vehicle with approx 3/4 of a tank and told me to return it with a similar amount or I would be charged a fee. This is not a welcoming statement to the customer. Give us a full tank and we will return it with a full tank. Plain and simple. One last thing. The driver's sun visor was missing a clip and was hanging loose which proved to be annoyance. Final comment: I will always be a faithful customer of U-Haul but as a customer I would expect a bit better treatment. Thanks, David HansenDavid H.

- never use a dirty vehicule; I was charged an additional 25 $ for cleaning although I returned it exactly the way it was when I picked it up... the guy at the reception is at fault since I reported the problem right away, but I also called customer service after droping off the keys - specifying I would not accept to pay for that - but they still charged my credit card !!! I'm totally pissed about that right now... Moreover, I was also charged twice the daily rate for just 4 hoursPIERRE B.

Instead of the client trying to find the truck on the lot and using the online system, go back to using real people to assist with the pickup. Also, stop charging for fuel ($140 for no reason) initiated automatically on return using the online system, despite the fuel level on return being the same as at time of pickup and the online steps meticulously followed (almost one hour to try to return with glitchy online system).Ronald M.

Due to the fact that I was moving from the Osoyoos area and made all the arrangements to get there in good time and have the arrangements made weeks in advance .. When I got to the facility I was sent to a unlt and after unloading a good amount of the truck was told they didn't have a 10x10x9unit for me even though I had confirmation on my phone that I had showed them .. I reserved a 10 x 10 storage locker in August and was phoned by your staff in September if I could move in earlier which I couldnt. I was told if I couldnt book that day I would lose the locker. So I went in and booked a larger one. I called the day before i was to move in and was told the one I booked wasnt available and another 1 bedroom one was. I said it was fine if I was a one bedroom. I came with the truck and the locker was so small. I was told this is all they had. I asked if there was anything else and the gentleman found one on the other end of surrey. I was charged mileage. The other location is dirty has one elevator and 3 other people moving in. Im not impressed with the service at this location and will not recommend it or uhaul. Changing the storage locker size saying I shouldnt have been able to book it is not good enough.Harpreet J. | Overall Experience
First of all, I hope this is the only location that I had a bad experience with your service. I rented a unit, paid it and when it's time for me to put some stuffs in there, the unit was occupied, argued a bit, wasted time arguing to give us another unit, after 0ver 3 hours of dealing, gave us a new unit but we have to clean it ourselves and we were soaking wet from going in and out of the office. The tank of gas was not at a quarter tank as said it was, got it at 1/16 of a tank barely enough to get to a gas station, ( the tank should be filled when recieved, so I can fill it to return it), the vehicle was dirty when recieved (the desk clerk waved the cleaning fee for me for the lack of gas and it was dirty when given to me). Points to impove: gas in the tank, cleaning of vehicle. Points of praise: friendly, quick, and responsive staff.EDWARD P.

I wasn't able to rent a pickup truck unless I paid on credit card. Made no sense as I was able to pay for a larger (and more expensive) truck with my debit card. Ended up costing me 20 cents extra per kilometer plus more for the actual rental and gas. Ridiculous rule.SHAWN K.

Reservation and pick up was fine. I helped move my son to his new apartment and instead of doing a late return, decided that I could return the vehicle (cargo van) before the office closed at 5pm and pay wit debit rather than credit card. I had confirmed when I picked up the vehicle that the office hours (which was also listed on their website) we're until 5pm and I could return it then if I wished. Well, after making sure the fuel was at the proper level and sweeping out the back, I got there well before 5pm andâ€¦..the gates were locked! Another unhappy customer was returning a similar vehicle and said that he too was locked out. An employee came to the gate and said they closed at 4:30pm and told me to use the website check out, then walked away inside the lot and would not answer my questions and why it was closing early. There was no place to park the vehicle and he completely ignored me. My cell phone had gone dead earlier so I could not use their â€œsystemâ€ - scanning a QR code at the location for check out either. The employee (a tall south Asian man) disappeared - he avoided all of us - very rude and unnecessary. Someone was leaving their storage unit and opened the automatic gate, which enabled me to drive the vehicle into the lot, lock it up and put the key in a lockbox. I got home and went on the website and found that I still could not check out without the location code that I was supposed to scan at the yard, but couldn't. Phoning U-haul had me put on a 40 minute wait - so I decided to do it the next morning (Monday). The call (although I phoned the location number) went to their call centre. Well, after a 45 minute wait (I waited from 7:10am until almost 8am) I finally got through and she looked up my account and told me it had been checked in earlier in the morning at the site and there I would not be charged the penalty. Everything had gone smoothly until running into that jackass employee. This is as far from customer service as you can get - he needs retraining. I have rented from there before without incident, this really puts a tarnish on uHauls reputation and I will not deal with this location again! A complete lack of customer service! The customer is not always right - but in this case u-Haul dropped the ball. Avoid this location like the plague!BRUCE H.

I would like to suggest about parking because we have to park van on street and I would like to suggest that you please make original parking inside or where ever you guys can and you uhaul I suggest you to have guard like who is going to check that all things are perfect and that willl be helpfulll if someone is coming after 7:00 because I have problems to park and I book uhaul first so,I think guard is helpful and all thing are perfect like nice friendly staff and helpful to. I had a hard time deciding on how to answer #'s 3 and 6 as I have not yet had a chance to explore your facility or actually move anything into my storage unit yet. The office area was clean and at first glance appeared to be well maintained. The parking situation and construction is less than ideal. In fact, I almost decided to go with PS Storage instead due to ease of approaching and parking at the office. I'm on the fence yet (due to my unfamiliarity with the location) if I would recommend this particular uhaul location to a friend, but I would recommend the Nordel location as I've rented trailers and vans from them in the past and have friends who are long time storage renters there. UHaul as an organization/business has been good to deal with overall every time I've contacted them.Kim W. | First Impressions
