Uhaul system/agents need to be on the same level. Policy told to customers by agents should be upheld! I was charged for 2 days when agent told me I had until the following morning. I returned the truck the same night rather than keeping it until the morning. After completing on line return, I was charged for 2 days, 2 dollys, and twice for the insurance. I used uhaul earlier this month and kept the truck overnight and was not charged twice. Disappointed with the automatic billing and lack of follow up or refund.JUAN V.

A couple different things happened here: First, I received a single notification that my reservation was changed to a different location less than 12 hours before my scheduled pick-up time. As you'd imagine from someone in the middle of a move, I missed this. A call would have been nice; something more blatant would have been appropriate. Instead I got one easily missed email with a generic subject line when you unilaterally changed my reservation (something, mind you, that is your fault; you either shouldn't have booked the reservation in the first place or kept to it. Second, the location in question cheated me out of something like $10-20 worth of gas by giving me a car with a "full" gas tank and telling me I'd have penalties if it wasn't returned similarly full. After driving the car approximately 20 miles, I went to fill it up and found it took 7 gallons to do so. Full in this case meant "We are saying it's full, but what we mean is that we expect you to subsidize our business with gas you didn't use. In my last few moves, I've used competitors of yours because of similar experiences in the past; you aren't reliable nor are you honest. In addition, you are the most expensive of the bunch. In the future I will avoid you again - the premium price not only does not give me premium service, but fails even to make you keep your commitments or avoid cheating me.BENJAMINE D.

All are good with the exception of steps going to the storage itself. A ramp would've help alot in this situation. 1hr load took 3hrs for 1person. Room was far away from the stairs so it had to be transfer to another cart which is a challenge on its own, because cart had to be lifted up the stairs.Richard B. | Online Move In

I have used U-Haul for several moves in the past. Some local and some cross country. The experience has always been seamless, but this time was a different story. I was in need of a 26' truck to be used for a time period of 3 days. The reservation went through online with no issue. I then called the location a couple days later to confirm that they would have a 26' truck for the time period I requested since I was seeing messages on the website stating that it might not be available. The person I spoke to confirmed the reservation. This was on September 6th. On September 29th, I went to U-Haul and my reservation had been changed to a 20' truck. I told the person at the counter that I had reserved and twice confirmed a 26' truck. From the other side of the counter, what I can only assume was the manager chimed in saying "We don't rent 26' trucks for more than 24 hours". I asked why the website confirmed it and why when I called, it was confirmed again. I even had the email to show that I was not being given what I had ordered. The "manager" was quick to say that he had changed the reservation himself with what I perceived as a snide attitude. I turned it around on him and asked why as the manager he didn't give any sort of notification with nearly a month of lead time. I didn't receive any email, text, or phone call letting me know my reservation had been changed. He had no response. He offered no apology or any kind of rationale for his actions. The moving process that I had was already incredibly stressful and one of the worst I've had in many years, but the callous way the person running this store attended to the situation was the cherry on top that sundae. My experience with U-haul sure left a sour taste in my mouth. U-Haul has been in business long enough to think of all the little things. They need to remember the guy with the credit card and pick up the phone when something changes.NATHAN W.

To begin with, my reservation was for 35th and Bell rd. When I arrived there was no truck for me. I was rerouted to 67th and Bell Rd. When I arrived there, there was ONLY 1 customer service guy at the desk and 3 people ahead of me. He was however, calm and collected as we were all feeling impatient. Not only that, but he was ansering phones which made it even longer. It was a terrible experience. Then I got outside and the truck was not where the customer service guy said it would be. I had to wait for it to be found and brought to the front. Unfortunately, I had my children and movers waiting for me and it ended up costing me more since there was a "waiting fee" applied. The location at 35th and Bell R. (stereo store) did not offer me the $50 Uhal money that they were supposed to for NOT having my reserved truck there. I would like to receive it please. Everything was perfect but the guy that's in the store is very rude and not helpful. I asked him for help he replied in a rude way and was very very rude in general. If I didn't pay almost $200 I would of gone somewhere else because I'll rather avoid rude customer service. When we went to return the rental the employee was very rude. We needed to return the keys and he stood there and ignored us. Eventually he acknowledged us and we said hi we need to return the keys and held them up to see if we could give it to him, and he looked at us as if we were stupid and in a rude tone said return what? We had the uhaul keys in hand and were holding them up and he said where is it? I told him we had parked it outside and rudely again he told us we needed to bring it around the side. The total experience was terrible! The general manager was extremely nice and trying to compensate for the issues they have at hand! He did great! I was originally proposed a bill of 120 for what I needed and ended paying 280 due to lack of equipment. Again he did the best that he could! customer service lacked, from the owner (at least that is what his name tag said) to the young man who attempted to assist me when I drove around to get my trailer, having never been there before and not knowing the process he was rude and did not seem to know what was going on. when I asked questions they were answered with an attitude, like I should have already known the answer, Dropping off the trailer was thankfully an easier process and at least the young man the helped me with that process was pleasant. NEXT TIME I WILL JUST PAY MORE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE OR JUST PAY FOR THE TOW TRUCK. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION FOR ANY REASONJAMES S.

Not going to give a bad number. However, the GM was having a phone call with a customer on speaker phone which should absolutely have been private as it was dealing with a domestic matter involving the passing of a family member and dispute between others. He was very short once off the phone. Blamed me for the rental reservation. I showed him the original reservation was correct and then he backtracked blaming the system. Several issues throughout and kept telling me to call the 800#. I let him know my frustrations and excuses continued to be made. I asked him just to acknowledge that my process has not gone smooth and he agreed and I said that's all I needed to hear. When I went back later in the day, the owner was working and showed much more care for the situation before even realizing I was frustrated from earlier.Derrick R.

Thie 67th Avenue and Bell Road location bailed me out of a predicament. My original order was for the Bell Tower 63rd Avenue and Bell Road location. When I went the Bell Tower location to pick up the moving truck, the manager's office was locked with a sign on the door that said the manager was offsite running errands. No mention of when they would be back, no phone call that they would be gone. My pickup time was for 10 am and I arrived to the location at 9:58. 6544 W. Bell Rd location was excellent. The Bell Tower location totally worthless and should not even be listed as a truck rental option on your website.Joshua H.
I reserved my unit online but was asking me to upload my home owners insurance since I was doing this from my phone I decided to walk in.. the guy who help me wanted rude but kept telling me I was second on the reservation list. I told how is that possible I have it for today. We kept going back and forth I was getting upset I was asking for a manager when then he realized that he was incorrect and proceeded with the reservation.. he then said I would need to pay for a lock I advised him that it said on internet shows that it was free.. he then said because I walked in had to pay for it.. I signed up for self service pick up and drop off. First off, to pick up the van I had to wait "for approval" (I've rented many times from you guys) to also having to stand in line to get keys. Then at drop-off time I did everything the app said and then the app said to just drop the keys off in a box and I was done. Well. There was no drop-off box to be found. I found someone and they told me to pull it up to the drop-off location. At this point I've been moving for almost a week. I told the guy that I did what the app said and I'm not moving the van (the app told me to take a picture of the parking spot, which I did) as I did as asked in the app so here's the keys. This was an awful experience because I opted for self pickup a d drop-off, yet I had to both wait in line for both experiences. I would be more understanding if this was a third-party U-Haul location, but it was not. I've rented many times from you guys and am seriously considering other options next time for my moving needs after this. Please stop calling self pickup/drop-off that if people have to interact with a single person as its not true.Ian A.

I was told the gad was full, but when got in cab it was 3/4 full. I drove 26 miles and put in 8 gallons of gas. The customer service rep told me to come in back way for return. This location was not where I wanted to pick it up. I was forced to use this location, My fist requested location had all kinds of 26' trucks sitting there when I drove by it, The people at the location seemed like they were annoyed when asking questions about the truck and took forever to complete the process for renting. The truck windshield was dirty om the inside which made it difficult to see when driving after dark! Worker brought the truck to me with the radio blasting hip hop music, worker was asked about items being checked on the truck and just walked away from me ignoring my questions. I have had the storage unit for about 3 years. I did not just move in. i have had automatic payments set up for several years. My last payment was not automatically taken out, so I received a late notice with a late payment fee added. I called and the late payment fee was taken off but this should not have happened at all. The reason for below average rating is that no one at the facility showed us how to access facility after hours. No one let us know that there are two entrances. Main one in the front of building and the after hours access in back of the building. Showed up to move daughter's college dorm items at 8:00pm and could not access building. Had to call u-haul customer service who had to track down after hours manager who then explained how to access building afterhours. After wasting over an hour, we then had to actually run to load everything into unit before 10pm after access hours stopped. Spoke to another custmer there at the same time and they explained same thing happened to them as well. Except for this issue, I would have provided a 5 star rating.
