The general manager Betty Hay installed the 6ft by 12 ft trailer and when we got on the freeway about three miles the trailer came off. The trailer almost flipped over and our truck almost flipped over. We could of got smashed by a 18 wheeler truck on the side of us. We had to drag the trailer by a chain that was the only thing connected. My brother and ex husband could of gotten killed because people driving drove crazy passing with no caution. I called the police three times to rush help for this horrible and scary position we were in. We, Three people almost died on the freeway that day. Betty Hay the General Manager was so sorry and said she didn’t screw the hitch on enough. We ended up taking a truck. My brother’s truck had about $2,000 damage. I have back and Neck pain and so did the others too since that day. Betty expresses how sorry she was but that was not enough. Betty said all expensive for the trip will be covered by UHaul. I’ll never rent a trailer again after this horrible experience.

This location was the third one I was told to go on the day I reserved the truck. It was at least 5 miles farther away than the place I originally reserved a truck from. The same thing happened when I tried to return the truck. I was sent 20 minutes and 10 miles from the drop off location they couldn’t confirm the day before. This process is messed up. But your employees are trying their best. I don’t think I should have to pay any extra mileage charges since I had to go so much farther out of my way.

I want to first say that having a storage here for 1 year time now has been great. I've had nothing but a great experience. From the staff to the hours to the convenience of the location. Here is what I would like to see improved. The sign in method (card swipe) does not turn off the alarm system if the alarm goes off. I would want a better system that allows a card swipe to turn off the alarm when staff is not around to turn it off. Other than that the experience I've had at Uhaul whether that is the transportation aspect or the storage unit has been nothing short than a quality experience. 5 stars in my book!

After driving a bit over an hour to the location I was moving things at, I discovered that the back of the trailer I rented was padlocked shut. I called the office, was put on hod for 10 minutes and then finally got to talk to someone. They apologized for forgetting to remove the lock and suggested I cut it off. Or they suggested I could drive back (adding 2+ hours to my day). I elected to go buy bolt cutters for nearly $50 just to cut the lock off that they forgot about. I was NOT happy!

As a long time u haul customer I felt like my business was not welcome . From the explanation that cc on file I have used for years at u haul wasn’t acceptable at that location , after it went through perfect when I made reservation. It was the most arrogant attitude, after I gave another card , I received a five minute lecture about the consequences of not obtaining the u haul insurance . 3 times I was told you will have to immediately pay for damages ! To top this experience off, I picked up at 6:45 pm for :4 hours and I was told you can keep the truck for 24 hrs and put keys and papers in drop box but we will charge 20 .00 extra for this if you return after we close at 5 pm. I have used u haul for over 20 years and this is a very inappropriate way to conduct business. Be just a little more welcoming and inviting to guests. But overall the service was a fast and easy drop-off! Took less than five mins from entering the store to reviewing the truck and miles. Even payment was fast and easy.

Staff was friendly and great. Process was easy. All paperwork was electronic and copies were emailed. A couple concerns. First we booked by phone at a location in 47th Ave and 44th Street. When we got there it said for Uhaul rentals go the 6425 Stockton Blvd a little over a mile away. So the location was misleading. Second, the “starting” rate of $19.99 for a cargo van is really misleading as we were charged .89 cents a mile for 50 miles even before we started. Our total bill for 76 miles was $98 that included $10 insurance and $7 sales tax. Add in $18 of gas, total cost $116. Thinking back of my time to pickup and drop off the van plus the cost, it may have cost the same to hire movers and save me time. However, this Uhaul equipment and staff were great.

When I went to get my rental the staff was helpful and happy. They were quick to get me in and out. When I went to return my equipment the staff was cold and inattentive. There was no one outside to help me with my return until I basically held my horn down to get their attention. When they finally came out, they said maybe two words to me and the didn't even check the lights for the return.....I had to unhook the trailer from my vehicle.

Be sure to have vehicles that are reserved. I had to rent a truck because an employee took van keys home. I had to pay more for insurance and .20 cents more on mileage. Not really fair to customer (me).

My customer rep was Matt. He was very nice-kind-polite. It was so easy, I was early- I only waited a short time for my truck. The email was sent in a timely manner- I was under a time constraint, so I did not wait for a receipt- it was sent email- everything checked out great. I would not consider a different location unless I was out of town! Also, the woman who checked my truck in was "awesome." Thank you "woman":) Sorry I did not get your name.

At the time of check-in, the U-Haul representative chose" the option of having to buy a U-haul insurance, when there was no need to do so in view of the fact that I walked in with my personal AAA insurance docs. The option for buying the U-Haul insurance was already checked. I protested, to which I was told that the vehicle would not be rented to me without having the U-Haul insurance. Because it was urgent that I arrive at the location in time, I QUITE RELUCTANTLY completed my business and left the yard, having known that "Insurance Fraud" was perpetrated against me. Upon returning the vehicle 24hrs later, and after leaving the yard (because I had to get to Sac State in time for class), I called with my concern & protested the fraudulent act of not given the option of using my personal insurance. I am consulting about how to proceed. If a person (business) will lie to a customer, and the owner will help to perpetuate that lie, they will also steal from you. STAY AWAY from the U-Haul location at 6425 STOCHTON BLVD. Sacramento CA 95823

More staffing in the evening when trucks are being retuned. Waited in line for over 20 minutes as an afterthought. U-Haul already had their money and an employee said "oh you can use the app to self return" in a very condescending way.

When I returned the u-haul after hours, I did the check in so I wouldn't get charged 20 dollars. The location charged me anyways and said it's my word against theirs. Even though they have it recorded. I will never use u-haul again. I even explained the steps I had to do to do the check in as proof that I did it. The employee was rude and belittling. I will never use u-haul again.

The Haul I ended up renting from was fine. But my confirmed reservation was to pick up at Elk Grove location, but after waiting 20 minutes they informed me they didn't have the reserved truck and I had to go to a 49th st location to pick it up. Complete BS and running around 1.5 Hr. trying to find correct address. Couldn't locate at either Haul in South Sac.. Total wasted of time now, but ended up finding Stockton Blvd location and they had another truck for me. overall a terrible experience that took 3 Hr. to find a truck.. And I had a reservation originally..!!!!

The process to get the truck took a long time but this is the process that is required by the employees. The calling of myself and another person the online checking of the truck THEN the tank was on EMPTY - they said it was a 1/4 full.

When customer makes reservation over phone please make sure the location is opened. I had two reservations done that morning where the places were closed. It wasted my time and gas. Also not everyone likes to do on the phone reservations so make sure your workers understand some people are old fashion and like to make reservations in person. I had a dude worker that insisted I call the 1800 number. That is their job or why else are they in a customer service job. The third reservation did not contact me the truck had gone down until again I was on my way. The last lady on the phone I can't recall her name was the only one with great customer skills and appologized. She got me a truck right away. She had a European accent. I wish I could remember her name she made my blood level calm down.

The customer service representative never acknowledged me or other people when we walked in and she was very rude regarding the downloading of the driver license when I was having problems with my phone. And she just gave me the keys and said the truck is out there. I asked could she show me like she did the previous customer and she just pointed out the window. Not very happy with her customer service especially since uhaul change my reservation to that location because they had issues with the battery at the florin road location.

Other then a women named Betty, I found this location to be the most uninformative and seemingly disconnected from the rest of the company then I've dealt with being a long time renter from Uhaul.
