Make sure you can do the 24/7 check-in before selling it.... The truck keys were not in the box and the representative answer was just "It happens !" - Clearly the staff needs more training - The U-haul app needs to be reworked (does not recognize the driver's head even after several attempts and it is impossible to dispute the truck's inspection with photos)Aurelio Bruno T.

After retuning the rental, I received an invoice which included an additional charge $148 incurred for damage. I immediately called the location, but my call was not answered and transferred instead to the reservation call centre. I complained about the extra and unwarranted charge, as I did not damage the vÃ©hicule. The agent transferred me to the Head Office. Martin answered the call and indicated that a new â€œscratchâ€ was found which was corroborated by pictures. As I did not receive any explanation nor picture with the billing, Martin agreed to send me the picture and indicated that he was filing a complaint to contest the charge and that a supervisor would call me back. I did not receive a picture and I am still waiting for a call from a supervisor. I frequently rent from Uhaul, vÃ©hicules and storage space. I always pay for the additional insurance, but in this latest rental, I did not consider it was necessary as I barely drove 20km. Coincidence that I never cause damages to your vÃ©hicules, but that the single instance when I do not pay the additional $18, I am charged for a damage without any explanation or pictures to prove it. Due to inclement weather, delays in traffic due to Montreal construction, and several attempts to alert the location, I received a late charge. Each time I called to alert the location, I was placed on hold. Subsequently. When I did arrive, to explain, customer service had no interest in hearing me out. At 19.95 a day, I return the vehicle with more gas than given, less mileage than expected, and I waited 45 minutes after my reservation time to receive my vehicle. Ultimately the initial wait forced me to have delays. In the end my bill was ridiculous for what I was as able to accomplish.Michael M.

Your service agent got upset because I asked him to change my payment method from credit card to debit card. He was then very cold and spome to me only in French even though I had spoken to him in English as I heard him speaking Englidh with a previous client. I gound this and him to be quite rude. I never used the storage nor set foot on the property . You allowed someone else to use the storage and then charged me. I want the charge reversed. I was still in BC when the unit was allocated to someone to use on September 18. I did not arrive in Montréal until October 1. Someone already was using the storage. Clearly state that the vehicle won't be ready for pickup at the reserved time since I had my reservation for 10 am and they did not deliver until 10:45 am. Also clearly state that the amount of gas to be loaded only needs to be enough to fill the tank to the level if was when you receive the vehicle. I was lead to believe you had you fill the tank completely without any reimbursement.Azriel L.

The service was expensive. Even at the price we paid ($165+tx), we had restricted hours. When we once made it a few minutes before the closing time, our code would not work. Also, having to pay for a whole extra month when I only needed it for 2 days into a new month was extremely annoying - if they could have at least prorated by the week, it would have been much more reasonable. Finally, when I wanted to close the account, since I was no longer in the city, I called the branch several times to discuss arrangements but I kept being put through to the central call centre. The call would send a message to the branch to call me back but it took 3 messages before the branch ever called back. And then, when we went in person to close the account, the service was extremely slow. After paying an extra 164$ + tax for 28 days that I did not need, it was really disappointing that I also had to waste so much time due such poor service or a shortage of staff.Sathya Dushyanthi K. | Overall Experience

The clerk marked the gas level as full without actually looking at the truck. Once I drove away I noticed the the gas level was not full, but down to the first mark on the gauge. Upon returning the truck the clerk did not review anything with me, just said to leave the keys and I could go. What should have been an $80 rental ended up costing $257. The vehicle is good in terms of performance. The person at the reception was good. I waited 40 minutes to get the van even though I completed all the process online .The fuel economy is very bad. I rented a truck that was previously hit by some customer who rented it before me and had scratches on the rear left corner. I did not take damage coverage and did not notice these scratches when I took the truck. This feedback form is in english and I would like to do it in french, so that's not good. The truck I rented had a bunch of imperfections that weren't noted with a little sticker. So that means that if I didn't see them, after I was done renting the truck someone else would have inspected it and they would have said that I was responsible for those scratches and bumps. I find that innaceptable. I think that the person who does the inspection should do it with me before I leave with the truck, because these people have a good eye to spot the imperfections (actually, since I wasn't sure about 1 scratch, I asked 1 of you worker who was passing by, but then your worker spoted another bump that I would have never spoted). The check in was excellent and simple . Where the experience went sour was on the return . Came at the location and there were several other costumers . The representative have me the option to simply leave the key and hel do the check out for me . I went back to take pictures of the KM dashboard and left . 45 minutes later i received an email with the final tally and the bill , to my suprise , the agent had check me out almost 50 minutes after my actual return time which resulted in double charges everywhere . I had to call costumer service and wait almost an hour to get the problem resolved .Khashayar M.

The vehicle I was lent had a non-functioning headlight and the parking brake release handle was barely functional. Of the 4 customer service agents i spoke to, 1 was helpful. I would usually give UHaul an excellent rating, but for this move it was a disaster. I had pre-arranged the rental of a second locker for Oct 1 and was careful to ask whether it was OK if I came later to put the lock on because the moving truck would be arriving sometime between the 10th and the 18th of the month. When I got there, I discovered that the locker was rented to someone else. i was told that according to your policy, if someone does not come to put their lock on the locker quickly enough, the reservation is cancelled. I guess I understand why, because you have a lot of no-shows, but I was under the impression that I would start to be charged from the 1st of October automatically. This caused a great deal of inconvenience for us because we now will have to 1) pay more for a larger locker until a smaller locker is available, and 2) move my stuff again into the smaller locker. To avoid this for others in the future, I think your communications should make the rules about reserving more clear and up-front. It would have been nice to have a reminder email saying that my reservation would be canceled if I did not call or present myself in short order.
